In good faith I signed up for the free 4 week trial. DONT DO IT.

I was absolutely bombarded with texts, calls, notifications, emails yet in spite of this I never managed to join a single online course despite logging in and trying to join several times. The website and pop-ups are like walking through a mine-field, if you don't navigate to the millimetre you risk purchasing something you never wanted.

I tried to cancel online clicking through what felt like 50 windows of upselling and "Did you know you can try this?" type messages. I've never experienced something so difficult to cancel, with the result that I've now paid them £49.95 TWICE for something that I have never managed to avail of and that I didn't really want.

It's a shame they're obviously out to trick people because if they had handled this correctly they could have had a legitimate business with a huge number of happy paying customers. I don't mind paying for good service, I abhor paying over the odds for bad service or something I don't ever get!

Can't shout loudly enough that people avoid this company at all costs.

Do not sign up for their Free trial. I signed up for the free trial and was totally harraased via telephone to the point I blocked the number and cancelled the free trial. I have just saw that they have taken £49.99 out of my PayPal account. A quick Google shown that they do this to people. There business model is to trick and defraud you. They are taking advantage of people during lockdown/covid and stealing from them.

This company is only fraud, you will get access to courses but they will charge your credit card without any permission . I have signed up for 12 months but have been charged $150 extra without reason. When you talk with them they say it is a mistake but refuse to pay it back. Stay Away!

I was charged for an annual subscription after hung up a call for feedback for their courses on 11 Sept 2020 (3rd week of the 4-week free trial), when over the phone I did not agree to pay for the annual subscription! Don't take Shaw Call, as they are trying to manipulate you in the calls and charge your card WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT.

Shaw is claiming the payment is being done by myself., which is very terrible, ridiculous lie! I neither click the promotional email of the subscription, Nor agree on the phone that I take the annual subscription. I only give my feedback of the course and got charged after hung up the phone! There is no official email from Shaw that I paid and subscribed the plan!! THIS IS STEALING MONEY! FRAUD AND SCAM!

From the claim Shaw made on me, I just want to ask, If this subscription is voluntarily, WHY I SUBMIT THIS DISPUTE AND ASK FOR REFUND AT THE NEXT MINUTE I SAW MY CARD WAS CHARGED??? AM I TOO FREE TO GO THRU THIS PROCEDURES? AM I TOO FREE WHEN I NEED TO CALL AND REPORT TO THE BANK ABOUT THIS??? AM I TOO FREE TO HAVE THIS FINACIAL STRESS CAUSED BY SHAW ACADEMY???!!! WHEN YOU STEAL MONEY FROM ME, DO YOU KNOW YOU HAVE RUINED MY LIFE BECAUSE YOU HAVE STOLEN MY EXPENSES FUND WHICH IS VITAL DURING THIS GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS!??

As an update on 15 Sept 2020, the customer support called me and says they can refund for the toolkit only (MYR44.99) and give me a lifetime membership, which is Ridiculous! If the toolkit is refundable, why at first when I submitted for refund request (on 19 Aug 2020) and they said the toolkit cannot be reversed? WHY DO YOU OFFER LIFETIMEBERSHIP SINCE YOU HAD CHARGED ME WITHOUT MY CONSENT? I have no interest to use this liar and SCAMMER platform, and I want a full refund of MYR479.88!!

It started when their FB ads reached me,
On (19 Aug 2020) I entered into an agreement with Shaw Academy for a 4-weeks free trial. Among these weeks, I was spammed with Emails upselling toolkits and other paid resources, and many spammed Phone calls.
- On the same day (19 Aug 2020), when I scrolled thru the page via mobile, their one-click purchase popped-out and was clicked unintentionally, my card was immediately charged (MYR44.99) for an unwanted item!

- I was then charged (RM479.88) on (11 Sept 2020) after a call by Shaw Academy. I cancelled the free trial on (11 Sept 2020), before the free trial ends once I knew my money is stolen!

Call Spamming : Due to work time, I was not able to answer those calls. Until on 11 Sept 2020 it was weekend, I answered a call as I trusted firstly on this so called "educator" customer support seems to be so caring on my learning process. But here come the scam started!

I would like to summarize and emphasize this further below: I only watched few courses (not even completing any of it)! I received a call from Shaw Academy Support on 11 Sept 2020 for feedback and offer to me the free access to toolkits.

Before this, I emailed for refund for the toolkit charged and customer support mentioned they have granted my account for 2 months extended free access to course (until October 2020) BECAUSE THEY SAID THEY CANNNOT REFUND!
I accepted it since it just on my first week trial, but now I reckon it is fake because my account status didn't show any extension for the trials.

On the 11 Sept 2020 call, the customer support did not stop to convince me about taking the annual subscription but I TOLD HER "IF YOU CAN SEE FROM YOUR SYSTEM, MY ACCOUNT WAS TOLD TO BE ABLE TO ACCESS FOR FREE FOR ANOTHER 2 MONTHS WHICH IS UNTIL OCTOBER. AND I DON'T HAVE THE PLAN FOR IT AS I AM BUSY FOR MY WORK“ .

She then explained that this grant access is FREE and Over the phone I DID NOT AGREE TO PAY as the customer service mentioned that was a FREE. I asked her TWICE : 'DO I NEED TO PAY IF YOU GRANT THIS ACCESS FOR TRIAL?", and she said "I WILL GRANT YOU THE FREE ACCESS FOR THE FREE EXPERIENCE FIRST, WE WILL SEND YOU THE EMAIL FOR THIS TEMPORARY ACCESS, AND AFTER THE FREE PERIOD YOU MAY OPT TO SUBSCRIBE FOR THE PAID SESSIONS OR END THE TRIALS". I TOLD HER AGAIN, I AM NOT GOING FOR ANY PAID SUBSCRIPTION PLAN" However, I received SMS from the bank that my card was charged after I hang up the phone.

This is an action of stealing money because :
I didn't even get an official email from Shaw Academy saying I subscribed for this plan! There was only invoice found in my profile which is available to download only.

I have called all customer service support number they used to called me, but all The phone number for customer service are not in service. All are scam numbers!

Moreover, the one-click purchase is very dangerous, as I had scrolled the page on the mobile, unknowingly it had clicked on the toolkit purchase pop out and it immediately charged (RM44.99) for an unwanted purchase just by scrolling the page
Please stay away from this scammer educator. Don't fall into their free courses bait!

I signed up for the free trial..looked in to it then they wanted me to purchase the $39.99 tool kit which I did not. And after that I never visited the site again. They just charged me 69.99, and trying to say they can’t refund me. This place is a complete scam. I didn’t agree to pay $40 where did $70 come from. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

HORRIBLE. Steals your money. I WILL be filing an investigation into Shaw Academy’s illegal practices, and I will be going through my bank to get my money back ($39.99 for the toolkit I never agreed to and $65 for the lifetime membership which is misleading considering the excess hidden charges). Refund me ASAP or else further action will be taken.

I am still waiting for a refund. They claimed to the BBB that the no refund clause is in the terms but it was not. You pay and then they want you to buy the class tools. Then, they see my review on the site and responded by saying they will issue a refund if I email them. Its BS!!!

Once you were charged by Shaw Academy for what ever subscription fee, toolkits or non-accredited e-certificates , they’ll never give your money back easily.

They’ll refered to their terms and conditions...but they don’t mention the UK cooling-off period law. 😂

But don’t give-up, it is your rights to get your money back.The way they doing their business is illegal.

File a complaints, report a fraud, and more importantly be persistent.

Shame on Shaw Academy.

What a shame on you. How can you and you family live your from money received by life scamming people, put them into difficult financial situation

I started a free 28 day trial with shaw academy on 2/9/20. I then began to receive several cold calls and spam emails constantly. On 11/9/20 I received a cold call from the company, which resulted in me being charged £199 from my bank account, with absolutely no authorisation or even any knowledge from me. I have been completely scammed by shaw academy, and now they refuse to answer my emails regarding a refund, and you can't get through on any phone number. This is a complete SCAM. DO NOT give any bank details or personal information as they will charge you without your knowledge and will send spam constantly. Please do not be fooled by this cowboy company, and spread the word so that they can't keep doing this to other people.

I have purchased a trial on Shaw Academy earlier and then i deactivate it. So after some days i got email in which one purchase E Certificate link is there when i just clicked on it to see the certificate information my money got deducted even i did not fill any OTP and I got a mail that you have purchased it and 999 deducted without OTP validation. I got the Email with the same content and i attached with this complaint.
How it possible and what that OTP means if i cannot verify it. I got only email with no transaction id no reference id details in it. So i blocked my Credit card and refer a complaint that if i click only from my Email id and directly money lost even i don't want it.
So, I am worried about the bank system and their card system even they don't let me fill the OTP and this merchant Shaw Academy how they are doing it.

Scam. Won't stop hassling you if you don't want to register for their courses. Don't even show mild interest as they will phone and text and email relentlessly.

I enrolled in a free trial on 7/15/20. I tried to cancel the trial online on 8/11/20. I got a message saying I needed to call in to confirm my cancelllation. It was already after business hours so I called the next day on 8/12/20, still within my free trial window. I spoke with advisor Nadine Jacobus and she sent me an email confirming my cancelllation. I told her I already see the charge pending which it should not have been. She assured me that I would receive a refund which has not happened.

I gave it a few days then called to get the status and was told to email billing. I emailed billing on 9/3/20 and received an email from Travis basically saying I didn't cancel before the trial was up and they weren't refunding me and offered me 6 extra months of access. Now why on earth would I want to do business with your company after this?? I replied to him and sent supporting documentation of the date I enrolled, when I cancelled etc. He has yet to respond. I never accessed the course, cancelled before the trial ended and was still charged! Buyer beware. Complete scam!

I tried to join the class and I got a billing message. This is insane. I totally have no idea why it has been paid. It does not make sense that you just charging me without any warning or notifying.
The fact that you grant me access to buy e-certificate, doesn't automatically mean that I have. Also, I was never given an option to waive my cancllation rights. I never gave my consent and/or acknowledgement during the purchase(clicking on you misleading "Get e-certificate"button) that I would be devoid of this right. under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, I can obtain cancellation of the purchase of a digital product within "14-day cooling-off period." But you say that there's no way I can refund. You know what? This is illegal.
You must search the obligations of the Consumer Regulation and look through it.

Let me get a refund.

Shaw Academy is a scam. Same thing happened to me. How are they still in business.
I’m furious with these scammers. Their customer support team have given me all of the BS and said I can’t get my Money Back. Is there any way anyone on here has got there money back from them? Please help. These guys have to be reported to the trading standards IMMEDIATELY. I demand they give my money back and everyone else’s. They are daylight criminals and need to go to JAIL.

I had signed up to the shaw academy for the FREE TRIAL for 4 weeks, however after not using any of their service I had noticed a few days ago that a sum of £49.99 had been collected on two occasions (who knows it could be more I will find this out with the scammers themselves). Anyways, once I had seen such a large sum of money go Out of my account to Shaw Academy, I decided to email them immediately as anyone would do. Once explaining that I have used absolutely none of their service and for them to charge me is completely out of order- the assistant by the name of Paddie had first told me that there’s nothing he can do as it would break their terms and conditions; PEOPLE, do not fall for it when they try and use legal talk- every situation is circumstantial and company’s should refund you if a service isn’t used by you, ESPECIALLY because I never knew I was getting charged each month.
Once I emailed again demanding a refund, this ‘Paddie’ had told me he has forwarded my issue further and I shall receive an email in 1-2 business days. LIES. It has been over 2 business days and now the Shaw Academy is completely ignoring me- they will do this in hope that you stop chasing your money. I WILL NOT STOP. I am going to make sure ALL of my money returns back to me as the level of negligent behaviour towards their customers is absolutely disgusting. The Shaw Academy is a scam and all they want to do is take Large sums of money out of Your account without you knowing. Disgusting that they are doing this at a time of struggle and distress for everyone financially as we have been struck by COVID-19. Shaw Academy will be shut down. Give us our refunds. Now.

Attention!!!
A lot of people have complained about Shaw academy taking payments from their accounts without their permission. If you have accidentally signed up for a free trial & are worried about them charging your card without your consent, here's what you can do. Instead of begging them not to charge you, contact them through email and DEMAND them to HAVE YOUR ACCOUNT DELETED along with all your personal details including the payment details. Requesting them to cancel your subscription alone doesn't work because these rogues will still charge you anyway by reactivating your subscription without your knowlede. So demand them to delete your account after cancelling the membership. As per GDPR law, they are legally obliged to delete your account &all your personal info and send you a confirmation mail within 30 days or so.If they fail to do so, it's a very very serious offense and you can even sue them for a hefty compensation. Trust me, they will do it. They deactivated my account and sent me the confirmation within just a week. I have never been charged a single penny since then.

They immediately took money from my account when I signed up for the a FREE 4 week trial course.
I have claimed for a refund since a week now but didn't receive it yet. This is totally a SCAM, I will not stop until they refund my £49.99 they stole from me.

If I could leave zero stars I would.

Shaw academy are scammers!
I signed up for a free four week trial yesterday, saw as soon as I got onto the course landing page that it had class times which would not be suitable for me and so I cancelled immediately. The cancellation itself took around 10 times of saying I want to cancel and then offering me money off and me continuing to say I wanted to cancel.

When my cancellation was finally through I received a text message saying they would give me a free course toolkit (usually £49) if I reactivated my free trial. I thought why not, I’ll give it a try.

I clicked on the link in the message offering me the free toolkit, a page came up saying thank you for reactivating and then a pop up came onscreen saying ‘get your course toolkit’ so I clicked it to get my free toolkit as they had offered me, there were no additional clicks to confirm that I would be charged, this was a single click after they offered it to me free.

My PayPal was instantly charged £49

I cancelled the free trial again and contacted PayPal and shaw academy trying to get my money back as they had offered it to me free and I had proof of that.

Shaw academy then proceeded WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!! To REACTIVATE MY ACCOUNT AND GIVE ME EXTRA WEEKS FREE TRIAL AND A COURSE CERTIFICATE!!!!

Once again, they did that WITHOUT MY CONSENT!!!

I cancelled the account AGAIN! And emailed them again. They said that they can see I didn’t mean to click on a chargeable link but that I had, so it was tough. I enclose a transcript of the email below

I have tried to come up with something further and the very best I can possibly do is to increase that to Certificate of Completion, All courses Toolkit plus two Hard Copy Diploma which will be activated within 24 hours.

This company is a scam! I will be reporting them to trading standards and advise anyone else tricked by their underhand and ILLEGAL tactics.

To shaw academy: I hope you read this. I will not rest until my money is returned to me. My name is Aimee Lewis, I have already contacted you on multiple tickets via email so you should have no trouble finding my account. You are scam artists not educators and I will make sure everyone knows it.

The tedious cancellation progress that takes advantage of the user, it took me to an automated phone call that literally doesn't take my ID number (responded ID incorrect) and literally have anxiety trying to secure your money before it gets ripped away.
