I was the victim of a scam.
Few days ago I have bought on Croatian market voucher for online course that provide Shawacademy.com based in Ireland and after first class I wanted to re-view the class when suddenly I was charged 49,99 € for Shaw Academy Premium Membership - Monthly Subscription.
At that time, their page did not offer a BUY button for the item in question, suddenly a window popped up saying that I had bought a monthly subscription for 49,99 €.
That's why it was UNAUTHORIZED TRANSACTION, I didn't bought it, I didn't allow it and there was no confirmation about this purchase.

When I demanded money refund they told me that something like that CAN NOT be refund and than they started to offer me different discounts for other offers.

After I complained to Paypal they conducted an investigation and they determined that everything was legal, so be careful, no one is protecting you.

So far, I have never had a negative experience with online shopping/ courses.

WARNING:
When registering, Shaw academy ask for a credit card number or Paypal account ... DON´T GIVE THEM.
Although you will not press the BUY button, they will take money from your account without approval and your money will never be refunded.

I signed up for a free 4 week trial. I added my credit card info, as I tought they only going to charge me if I don't cancel my subscription. Then, the website told me to get course material, which I did with only one click. The pricing of the course material was not included, I tought that it was free otherwise I wouldn't clicked. They charged me 39.99€. I have asked for a refund multiple times now but they only provide me with unneccessary information. I also asked them to cancel my subscription and delete my profile but they are not paying attention to it at all. Do NOT sign up for the courses of this company.

Beware!!!!!Shaw Academy is a total FRAUD. First of all I am a very tech savvy person yet this happened to me, therefore this wasn’t a mistake from the customer’s side but a complete BAIT!!! Never ever give your payment details. Big time fraud. I was just browsing, a window popped up, i want to cross it, clicked it and it said new courses unlocked. And I was charged 50£!!!!!!! They would not even refund!!!!!! They did it intentionally!! the cross was so small and i didnot even sign up for one time purchase. Pure evil fraud. Then I started reading the reviews on other page. The article of Guardian, mentioned the same thing that happened to me. I was cheated into this!!!

I signed up for the free trial. The terms clearly stated I would not be charged if I cancel before my free trial is over. Cancelling is a hassle! They make you click a bunch of things and then you have to call a number to finalize the cancellation. No one answers the number.... I emailed them requesting them to cancel my account and they claimed my membership was cancelled. A few weeks later, I was charged 70$ twice in 2 days. I do not understand why I was charged when I cancelled. I started a dispute on paypal and plan to do so with the BBB.

Scam, this site is a scam. They swindle you out of a recurring charge even if you tell them to stop it.

Don't let them fool you. Run.

This company steals your money. The classes I signed up for where very basic information and with digital marketing basic can be found for free on youtube. I was hoping that they would have something updated. I decided to cancel after I had been charged the first $70 on my own mistake. I called closed my account and thought it was done. You have to go through this long list of clicks and then they tell you to call a number. You call the number and wait on hold to then talk to someone to close your account. Then a month later I get another charge for $70. I find out that my account was not closed. I call back to go through the whole thing again expecting to get a refund and I am told they do not give refunds. I said well I do not want the services I closed my account a month ago and you charged me anyway. I made sure to get an email this time as proof. We will see if they try to steal another $70 from my account next month. I have found many other people that have had the same experience once I started digging. I think they are fraudulent and have started a report with the attorney general. If they steel extra months out of all of there clients that could be millions of dollars they are stealing from people. It is my hope that a class action lawsuit would be filed.

If I could give 0 stars I would, a pure scam of a company. Signed up to this "free 4 week" course, then bombarded with emails, WhatsApp and text messages to buy course tools and other things. Logged back in to close my account and I pressed something that charged me €49.99, I am days trying to get a refund, it is a joke of a company. I have emailed several times, Twitter direct messages. Stay well clear of these scammers.

Such a bad experience from this completely rogue company! I signed up for a 4 week free trial, but never used it as I couldn't get the first class to play. I was then inundated with dozens of emails and phonecalls every day, so after 3 days of the trial I contacted Shaw Academy to cancel. They tried offering an extended free trial and I said I didn't want it, I just wanted my account to be cancelled. Shaw Academy sent me an email confirming that my cancellation was successful and that no money would be taken. I obviously thought that this would be the end of it, apart from the fact they'd insisted on leaving the free trial running, so I was still being spammed constantly with emails and attempted calls. I answered on of these calls to try to speak with someone and get the trial stopped, unsuccessfully.

A month later and I received a notification from PayPal telling me that Shaw Academy had taken $69.99 subscription from me. This payment was totally unauthorised as I had already cancelled.

When I contacted Shaw Academy they said they reviewed my file and as I hadn't cancelled my account (?) they couldn't refund my money, just offer me an extended trial again. I sent them a copy of the email they had sent to me weeks earlier confirming my cancellation was successful, but they came back with the same response and are now frustratingly ignoring all of my communications. They've deleted my comments from social media too.

Sadly it's clear that they have done similar to hundreds of people (just look for Shaw academy scam).

Be very wary of signing up for anything from this company!! The sooner they are investigated and stopped the better.

Don’t go anywhere near this company - they will take your money whether you agree to it or not - you will have to contact your bank or PayPal to get it cancelled.

They will hound you to attend their classes

Signed up for a few course, only t9 then find out I had signed up for a £49.99 membership too.
No email acknowledgment of this membership.
As somebody trying to learn new skills after losing my job to then find out I am paying for a membership I don’t ask for is outrageous.

This company is operating by outright lying on its website & in their emails and phone calls. They don't have any contact phone number anywhere on their website. They harass "students" by sending a constant barrage of emails, text messages and pop-up notifications, some of which are set up for one-click purchase and are hiding among other pop-ups, so that accidentally clicking them is inevitable. They are actively gaming review forums like trustpilot and facebook by hiding negative feedback. It is just outrageous how they are still advertising on social media and running their scam and robbing more people every day.

Shaw Academy is most definitely a SCAM. They'll offer you a four week free trial, you HAVE to put in a method of payment in order to receive which you think fine that's common, but then you will NOT be able to cancel the subscription. Three days after starting my free trial I decided to cancel because the course content added nothing and is all easily googled and/or common sense, it took me through ten pages of "Are you sure you want to cancel?", just to end up on a landing page where they say you have to call a number with the provided "student id" number. THEN when you try to call the number, it takes you through a loop saying that the id number is incorrect, so you're unable to cancel. Luckily I had it through Paypal, so for those of you who linked your Paypal I suggest going on Paypal, Go to Account-> Payments-> Manage Automatic Payments, then look for Shaw Academy and cancel it (and any other unknown subscriptions just in case). After my free trial ended, no charge was made and the content had been withheld from me as I wanted, so song with marking their emails as spam it seems to be the only way to make it a real free trial. If it's connected to a card and not Paypal, I suggest you contact your card provider and explain the situation. Shaw Academy is a SCAM, go to the Better Business Bureau and report them.

Absolutely horrible. Took my money told me that the accounts would be cancelled. I never even signed up for them my emails were hacked, by shaw academy none the less! Took my grocery money now wants to offer some stupid six months free I never even wanted the original thing! I want my money back.

SHOCKING HARASSMENT if you show any interest
SHOCKING HARASSMENT. That's all that their communication can be described as. I can't believe their tactics. You contact them once to show interest in a course and they then do not stop bombarding you with text messages and emails about specials ending that night. Apparently the special ends every night! Don't give them your details - you can't even block them as they send text messages from a host of different numbers. So when you block one they will just send from another. HORRIBLE!!!

I have been scammed with a one click purchage without a confirmation! I want a refund. I am contacting paypal! And Sue shawacademy.

This company makes use of deplorable business practices. I am fighting with them, through the BBB and PayPal, for refunds totaling $239.94. They spam customers with texts from multiple phone numbers, emails from multiple addresses, and phone calls. They make use of 1 click purchases with neither confirmation page nor receipt of any kind. They make cancelling the free four week complicated and continue billing customers. They engage in high pressure sales and use guilt against customers. They bill customers for purchases that are flat out refused during sales calls. They do not issue refunds in these cases. They only issue refunds when customers file complaints with BBB, PayPal, etc, flood them with Emails demanding refunds of the stolen money, and leave bad reviews everywhere. Stay clear!

I availed the free 1 month trial of Shaw Academy and key in my credit card number. Then, I was planning to cancel it on my 29th day so I won’t get charge on my credit card. Then when I was canceling it, it’s already in an active status and it was charged already on my billing, it says that trial was ended. 30day hasn’t done yet. Aside from that I also noticed that I have 3 purchases? What happened? How come Shaw Academy charged me 1,796 while I was just trying only the free 1 month and I wasn’t able to maximize that. I don’t even finish a course then Shaw Academy charged me that? I even have purchased a hard copy of Certificate? How can I get a Certificate knowing that I don’t finished any course and I don’t even have an address provided to Shaw Academy. This is insane and absolutely a scam. I need my money back. I emailed them but until now, no one assisted me. Few minutes ago, somebody called up and asking me to avail the life time access, but when I brought up my concern he said that I should email the Support, which I did and I was expecting that call was for my concern, then he promptly dropped the call. I need my money back, please don’t do such bad things to people specially this time of crisis. If your intentions are good for the people, then you shouldn’t scam and contribute something helpful to the people and not cheat on them. Karma is real and automatic. Please do contact me and give my money back.
