if i could rate below 0 star i would. i booked for a full replacement of a key at 5pm and rang them by 11am the next day to get a refund they initially claimed they would return £118 of my order of £456 and when i challenged that they said id get a full refund they claimed they would need to listen back to the conversation. This is so dishonest. it took them about an hour before they eventually rang and said they would charge £50 and offdmered an option to get a replica made for £321. i offcourse asked for a full refund which is now going to take 21 days. The £50 is over and above a 10-15% admin and im considering contacting financial ombudsman as surely this is daylight robbery!

I ordered and paid in full £252 for an aftermarket key replacement for my van. I was booked in for a weeks time and received a text message on the last day(day of fitting) from the AA to ring them. I rung them up and the woman said they can only make keys up to 2020 even though my van is a 2020. Last minute they tell me that they can't do it. And my refund is going to take up to 3 weeks! What a shocking experience! Shame on you AA!!! Not impressed and won't be recommending you to anyone!

Initially I was kept waiting while young lady checked availability. Then she told me that only an after-market product is available at a cost of £318. Having reluctantly agreed I was informed they had none in stock and would have to order in. Therefore I could not have a fitting date but I still had to pay in full upfront ! I suggested I'd cover the cost of the blank and pay the fitter when the job is done - as with any call out - but this was refused.
Maybe it's just me but this smacks of grandiose presumption that punters would voluntarily pays 100% upfront for an inferior product that they do not have in stock and that is to be fitted at a date they can't give - just because its the AA. With whom nothing can ever go wrong ?

Extremely poor service, I’ve waited over two years for a replacement original spare key. Highly not reccomended.
Key assist sub contract their key service to AA who offer an extremely poor customer service at the manager level.

Extortionate. this company is an agent only - search for local tradespeople and contract directly. Feel totally ripped off: was charged well over THREE TIMES the rate if I had gone directly (£222 versus £65)

Absolute trash. Originally called to get new keys, but now they have caused lots of damage to the car that is proving difficult for them to fix. Save yourself time and trouble by going to your main dealership.
Great service
Very easy to deal with got through to someone quickly on the phone who gave me a detailed quote and got me booked in. The technician called when he was in his way and got our fob and blade cloned within 30 mins and all at a much lower price than other quotes.

My car key has been faulty for the last two must. We've struggled to open and close the door. I was put in touch with AA and within 30 minutes they were in touch and gave me quote for replacing the key. It was a very challenging job but they managed to sort out the problem in 1 day which was amazing given the complexity of the problem. They not only replaced the key but gave me a spare key. I am a very satisfied customer of AA and highly recommend them.

DO NOT USE
Called at 11am, paid £142 immediately for the call-out to release the car keys locked in my car, and was given a two hour window with the assurance of a call/text from the technician. No contact was made by the technician. Contacted the call handlers after 45 minutes, again after another 30 minutes and again after another 30 minutes to be assured the technician had been delayed on a previous job. I was assured he had my job and would be with me. I was informed he was quite a distance away even though I had been originally told he was within a ten mile radius.
Nearly three hours later, my friend called to express her concern at the time taken to be contacted as I am nearly 70 and had been standing in a biting wind in an unfamiliar part of the country without contact from the technician. The company would not now answer my calls or hang up if answered.
Eventually I was contacted by a technician at 2pm and informed he would be with me at 3.15pm. He had only just been given the job!
He kept me informed of his arrival time, was extremely friendly and arrived at the appointed time.
Dishonest and misleading information given by the call handlers was unacceptable and potentially dangerous. The disregard for any form of customer service once the payment was made was poor. 4 and 1/4 hours wait was avoidable.
I have yet to receive my receipt for payment despite numerous requests or a resolution from the company after an internal investigation.
My one star feedback is for the technician and not the service received from the company!

So of all days on my birthday got a call from hubby that his key had snapped off at petrol station..he was stuck.. out I ran having phoned RAC who advised no key cover but for £150 could add but then further charges would apply..I contacted Keyassist and Lee was great..He was with us inside 3/4 hour and cut a new key,recoded it and then boosted battery to get hubby back moving as through trying desperatelyto use battery hsd doed too.Great guy,great service £234 for the whole thing..so possibly on par with what would've been charged through RAC anyway but a lot quicker and key is guaranteed..so in an emergency I'd certainly recommend this company.

Locked keys in boot!! Panicked - rang key assist, lady who took my call was fabulous and very patient.
Waited a couple of hours for the gentleman to arrive and he was lovely, got on with the job and before I knew it I was back in my car and driving home.
