Disgusting cowboys - came to my house and tried to charge me 517 pounds for a ten minute job - horrible experience, horrible company and makes me worried that someone vulnerable and elderly will be preyed on by them. When I complained he said I should only complain if he charged me 2,000 pounds - sounds like they hike the price up whenever possible. Has left me feeling sick that this happens. Avoid at all costs.

Update. The lock they fitted has already broken. Terrible!

Do not use B.S Security maintenance company.Came to my house took the broken lock cylinder out then quoted me 250 pounds for the part alone that subsequently we bought ourselves for 55 pounds.Unfortunately I had to pay him a call out charge of 70 pounds and complained by phone and e mail..heard nothing from them since.This company are just out to overcharge the customer and rip off..DONT USE THEM!

Good on prompt response and person turn around fast, but they quote me £45 and gradually increase price to £486, its unfair practice and take advantage of customer emergency. it would be nice if they transparent about the cost. overall resolve the issue but very extensive.

If I could give less than one star I would!! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS MAN!!! He is out to rip everyone off. I wish I checked before paying him. Right before Christmas has scammed me £1000!!! He kept upping and upping his price first quoted me £350 then £550 and then once he had repaired my front door he charged me £1000. I was at home on my own with my little girl I couldn’t not pay this. Please please please do not use him!!!!

Do NOT use these cowboys! A guy from a company called B.S Security Maintenance turned up and didn’t do anything to the lock - kicked the door in and half installed a lock and then overcharged hugely for the privilege! Charged £265 for a £25 lock and didn’t even install it all and leave it secure!

Daylight robbery. I had a workman stuck in a kitchen, the door lock broke. They charged me £45 call out (which they avoided to mention when I called as well as turning up over an hour late!), then charged me £150 to drill the lock so the door would open...took all of 5mins and wouldn't open the door unless I sent them proof of payment! When I questioned the ludicrous amount t of money he told me to get the tools and do it myself! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

If I could give this company no stars I would. To say I was ripped off is an understatement. Was here ten minutes, charged £49 call out which I expect but then charged £150 labour and £210 for the lock plus vat. Absolute rip off. Avoid at all cost

AVOID as all the other reviews say! Absolutely ripped us off, charged so much money for a cheap lock, pretending that the current one I had was worth 500 pounds. Rude as anything on the phone. Soooo many other locksmiths, avoid this one.

I called to book a job and they said they’d be with us in 25 minutes. 50 minutes on no one arrived. I called back and was told the lock smith was on the way and he would call me. The lock smith did call me and pretended his office did not give him the post code so although he was ‘on his way’ he didn’t know where he was going ! Jokers at best, avoid at all cost

I recently had the unfortunate experience of hiring a locksmith for a seemingly simple task, and I must say it was a complete disappointment. I called this locksmith service with the expectation of a fair and transparent pricing structure, but what I got was a shockingly high bill and a complete lack of professionalism.

To start with, the locksmith charged a hefty £49.00 plus VAT just for the call-out, which I considered quite steep but decided to proceed anyway, given the urgency of the situation. I was also informed that in case they were unable to retrieve the key, there would be an additional £25.00 charge for a lock change – fair enough, or so I thought.

Upon arrival, the locksmith spent a mere couple of minutes attempting to extract the key and promptly declared defeat. To my surprise and dismay, they then dropped the bombshell that they would be charging a jaw-dropping £280.00 for a lock change! I couldn't believe the audacity of such a sudden and exorbitant increase in the quoted price.

The locksmith's lack of skill and efficiency was evident, and their attitude was nothing short of pathetic. It seemed like they were more interested in making a quick buck than providing a reasonable service. I expected a professional to assess the situation thoroughly before quoting a price, but it felt like they were just pulling numbers out of thin air.

In conclusion, I would strongly advise against hiring this locksmith service unless you're prepared to be taken advantage of with exorbitant and unjustified charges. My experience was nothing short of a rip-off, and I regret entrusting them with the task. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere for a locksmith who values honesty, transparency, and fair pricing.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service provided by your locksmith on a recent occasion, when we sought your help with a broken door handle.

To begin with, we were charged an exorbitant fee of £220 for a service that, according to other professional locksmiths, should not have exceeded £150. Further, we were initially presented with a bill for £360, which seems unjustifiably high for a simple door handle repair.

The locksmith who attended our premises stated that this cost was due to the potential risk of a broken mechanism and claimed our situation to be a 'disaster', further escalating our anxiety. This was not only an exaggeration, but also a clear attempt at exploiting our vulnerability.

Additionally, the locksmith failed to fully reattach the handle, leaving a screw unsecured. When asked to rectify this, he demanded an additional £60 for what would be a minor adjustment, requiring no more than a few minutes of his time. This is clearly unacceptable.

His overall conduct left us feeling bullied and unfairly treated. We believe that customers should never be made to feel this way, especially when they are already distressed due to a malfunctioning security system.

Using services like this is a real gamble. I lost, they won. No transparency about prices ripped off for 15 mins work

Had an emergency and made a call SPL arrived in under 30min fixed the problem and a great price..!!!!

It's too late to see these comments. I have been charged £672 for changing lock which only cost £59 online. The guys charged me £275 for labor and £275 for the lock which cost only £59. Totally scam. I will try get the money back.
Also, they also use Avatar Locksmiths name as well.

Avoid these people at all costs. My tenant was stuck in the bathroom and I was told it would cost £45 to open the door if it was ‘a quick job’. It took less than 10 minutes to open the door but I was charged £89 plus VAT and the locksmith insisted that this was settled via a payment link, before he would leave the property. I therefore had no choice but to pay the inflated amount - I wish I had read the reviews here first.

Do not use this company. They are fraud scammers. Regret not checking the reviews before calling them. Rude, impolite, unprofessional, incompetent, misleading. On the phone i was told £45- £100 to unlock the door. But when the guy turned up he said it will cost £270 just to unlock the door. Since I could’t afford to pay i decided not to use them and i was charged £55 just for looking. I called the guy who i spoke with on the phone to find out why i was given incorrect info then he shouted at me not even listening and lied saying i haven't even used their service. UNBELIEVABLE!!! These scammers are running this business not to offer locksmith service but to fool and scam people.

Avoid, reading the reviews wish had read these before called them out. Ripped off my elderly mother, overcharged for the work to be done. Was warned about scammers from another company and annoying that fell for it with this company.

Were called out to sort out the porch lock at my elderly fathers house. I explained that we had lost the key & I just needed to ensure it locked from the inside. They came, charged approx £180. The next day it wasn’t working. After they finally got back to me, they denied any responsibility and said the lock was fine it was the door mechanism that was faulty, which he knew. Why on earth replace a lock when it would never lock is baffling. They refused to come back / help. Do not use this company, your security will be at risk & you will be out of pocket.

Called out locksmith mid afternoon as unable to open front door with key. Staying in my neices home so concerned I may have had the wrong key. After cursory try with key the locksmith advised lock would need to be broken and replaced with new lock at a cost of just shy £500. Opted not to pursue this and, as I was with my very poorly frail sister, he offered to try with 'plastic' and include this in call out charge (quoted £49 so £58.80 with vat for 10 minutes). Later, when able to speak to my neice to establish we had the correct key and told it needs to be wiggled, managed to get in! Really thought a locksmith would
be familiar with this type of problem. I would not use them.
