Avoid! Illegal return policies and terrible customer service
I had an absolutely dreadful experience trying to return an item to Lamp Copper UK. If you ever need to return something that isn't faulty, be prepared for a fight.
Despite UK Consumer Contracts Regulations clearly stating that consumers have a statutory right to cancel and return standard online orders for a full refund, this company stubbornly insists on charging an illegal 10% "restocking fee." Their customer service team will explicitly tell you that their "official return policy" doesn't allow them to waive it, completely ignoring the fact that their internal policies do not override UK consumer law.
Instead of just processing my return, they wasted days with endless back-and-forth emails. They repeatedly tried to push a 50% partial refund on the condition that I keep the item, even after I explicitly told them that keeping it was not an option.
The amount of time and administrative effort they spent arguing with me definitely cost them more than the 10% fee they were illegally trying to withhold. I ultimately had to threaten a bank chargeback and a formal report to Trading Standards just to get them to agree to a proper 100% refund in writing.
Save yourself the headache. If you buy from Lampcopper UK, do not expect a smooth or legally compliant return process. Shop elsewhere!
Horrific delivery constantly changing days and times
Have waited in for 2 days for a constantly changing delivery time, I have missed out on work due to waiting in and the delivery time constantly changing. When I checked them out found out this is a Hong Kong based business and not a UK company as it seems, terrible service do not use, when I tried to track there was no tracking available
Difficult and costly returns
Ordered 2 gorgeous sconces for my new washroom. Sadly, the builder measurements were smaller than expected so the lights are too large for the wall space. We picked this company because it had good prices (UK based) but the returns are unforgiving, we have to pay for shipping to China and a large restocking fee. I’d source elsewhere if possible in case the products don’t work.

I think this is a scam company, do not purchase. I have spent £450 on lights which have not arrived. No communication. The tracking number is invalid. No reply to emails and if you try to send a message from the website it won’t submit.

Do not use. The product took a long time to arrive and I had to chase as its had no communication from them. When it arrived it was poor quality, poor wiring and no earth. It didn't work and if it had it wouldn't be safe or compliant with UK standards. I find it hard to believe any positive reviews are real. It feels like a scam. No response to my request for a refund. I rarely leave reviews but this is a scam company

days later - damaged and not what I was expecting for a £140 ceiling light. Looked cheap and there was no earth wire or box for the wires. I emailed them asking for a refund and for information regarding how to return. They ignored my request and suggested they send out another light. I have since emailed 2 more times and they are ignoring me. So it looks like I’m £140 down with a damaged light I can’t return. Fuming

Do Not buy from this company Notified goods not wanted within 14 days of receipt.They refused to give full refund stating their terms of service dictate deduction for restocking and insurance . Their terms of service are OVERRIDDEN BY STATUTORY RIGHTS so reported to trading standards and had to claim back from credit card

Delivery took ages, the lights are not shipped from the UK. When both lights arrived, one was faulty, Fitted by a qualified electrician, who was far from impressed. They took a while to reply to my email. Was disappointed as cannot speak to anyone as no phone number to call. I feel their website is misleading as thought I was buying from a UK company. UPDATE. Am upping my review from 1 star to higher. I did get a reply and after sending in photos of the rubbish light, I did get a replacement sent out. The unit was clearly faulty. It’s taken a while to arrive, but the replacement has come, I’ve looked at the new unit and it’s un-damaged this time, now to get the electrician back. The unit is a nice light.

Lamp has taken over a month and still not left China. Not UK company and I didn’t realise this until after I purchased it, thankfully on credit card and no doubt will need to raise complaint as it will probably be rubbish when it arrives.
Misleading not a UK company, Avoid
No delivery update been waiting a week and so will miss my slot booked with electrician. They are not UK company false advertising. I would not have ordered from them as i expect the uk standard 5-7 working day delivery. I have emailed them but got no reply, no phone number to call. Have raised complaint with Paypal but still waiting for them to investigate which can take 30 days! I just want a refund so i can pick some lights up from a local store in time for my electrician booking. So frustrated.
Avoid! Misleading “UK” Company, Poor Quality and Impossible Returns
I strongly recommend avoiding lampcopper.co.uk.
The website presents itself as a UK company, but after purchasing I discovered the business is actually connected to a Hong Kong/Chinese entity (LEMAI HK Holdings Limited). This was not clear during the buying process and feels extremely misleading for UK customers expecting a domestic supplier.
The product itself was very poor quality and the lead time was extremely long. When the light finally arrived, I was shocked at how cheaply made it felt compared to the photos online.
Even more concerning, the fitting did not include an earth cable, which is required for electrical safety and compliance in the UK. For a lighting product sold to the UK market, this is unacceptable and potentially unsafe.
Trying to return the item was another nightmare. The company requires returns to be sent back to China, which costs a huge amount in shipping. On top of that, they still charge a 10% restocking fee even when returning faulty or unsafe products. This makes returning the item almost pointless financially.
Overall:
• Misleading “UK” branding
• Extremely poor product quality
• Missing safety components (no earth cable)
• Long delivery times
• Returns effectively impossible and very expensive
Very disappointing experience. I would strongly advise buying from a reputable UK lighting company instead.
