I purchased a liftmaster C-1000 garage opener, I wanted a chain drive because I have had better luck in long term service. I took the opener home and started to unpack it... I found the customer service manual and other assorted pieces of information BUT NO INSTALLATION MANUAL... I SEARCHED EVERYWHERE AND ABSOLUTELY NO MANUAL, I READ THE CUSTOMER MANUAL AND IT STATED THAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO DOWNLOAD THE CUSTOMER APP TO GET THE VIDEO WHICH GAVE DIRECTION AS TO INSTALL.... WHAT "GENIUS" THINKS THAT UP... I DON'T WANT TO DOWNLOAD AN APP. I DON'T WANT TO DOWNLOAD ANYTHING.... I CALLED THE COMPANY AND THEY TOLD ME TO "GO HOME AND WATCH THE VIDEO ON MY HOME COMPUTER" .... WHAT AN EPIC FAILURE... A COMPANY TO CHEAP TO INCLUDE A 10 CENT INSTALL MANUAL OR A PARTS MANUAL... HOW STUPID CAN YOU GET... GUESS I CAN START USING ANOTHER BRAND...ONE THAT HAS AN INSTALL MANUAL....

My LiftMaster myQ app fails to control my garage door while I’m inside my own house on home Wi-Fi, and is unreliable when arriving home. Commands often fail while pulling into the driveway. Also, it works inconsistently, hangs on commands. Further, notifications are inconsistent—sometimes accurate, sometimes delayed, sometimes wrong. This defeats the purpose of a smart garage opener.

Lift mast very bad on warranty my brand new house is less than 1 yrs old they will not cover any warranty since the unit was bought in 05/24 but my house was sold to me in 3/25 but they go off the build date of the garage opener so they cannot help me only offering a discount. This company should be ashamed on ripping people off. I could understand if the unit was over 5 yrs old but this is just wrong
New Liftmaster belt-drive motor whines and is as loud as the chain-drive motor
Ten years ago we decided our Liftmaster chain drive garage door opener motor was too loud after listening to a neighbor's very quiet motor. We replaced with a Liftmaster belt drive and, as advertised, the motor was whisper quiet. This month the Liftmaster motor seized and we had to replace. The installation company told us that the new chain-drive motors were just as quiet as the belt-drive motors. So we installed and were horrified at the loud whining of the motor! We asked the technician to upgrade us to the "whisper-quiet" belt drive unit. We were again horrified that the belt-drive motor was just as loud as the chain-drive motor with the same loud whining sound! So what we have surmised is that, since our 10-year old belt drive unit motor was MUCH quieter than the brand spanking new belt-drive unit, Liftmaster has decreased the quality of their product to save money or something. Our bedroom sits right above the garage and the whine is absolutely noticeable. We are now absolutely disappointed in Liftmaster products.
Their 8500W LiftMaster Garage door…
Their 8500W LiftMaster Garage door opener. This product is also their Elite series. It never has performed very well at all and under 2 years old. Now it is not working. Called support they said I need a new motor. They sent it to me free of charge. I took the opener apart to replace the motor I notice that the travel module was broken. So now I need to order that piece. So another week without an opener. I'm repairing this myself as I did not want to incur more charges. This is not a simple task. This is about a 700.00 hundred dollar opener. If I had someone else fix it. I would have more than I paid for it and then some in it. Almost everything inside this is made out of plastic. The travel Module is 50.00 dollars it is all plastic 3 plastic gears. Think twice about Purchasing one of these it is by no means one of their cheap models.

I wish that I could rate this group a zero. We have a gate operator motor that we installed 10 years ago. The first unit went out right as a warranty expired at seven years. The second unit failed at just less than three years. At this point, the problem has not been resolved and it’s been more than two months. They warranty the unit and the parts but not the service labor. My service provider has already made nine trips to my home and as replaced five components and yet the problem persists. When I call Chamberlin group, they always tell me that the process is moving forward and I will hear from somebody but I never hear back. I continue to chase these people and I’m getting nowhere. They’re friendly and helpful, but nothing gets done. I would highly encourage people to do their research and find another product line.
Don’t buy this brand!
I bought a LiftMaster remote that had a broken piece within it. It rattled. Went back to get another one. They were discontinued. Seems I bought the last one from Home Depot. Bought the new style because I was told it was compatible and it was not. I called LiftMaster and supervisor Juan, who said he would send me one to replace the one from Home Depot. Turns out he didn’t send it and wrote in his notes that he had referred me to exchange it at Home Depot! So I waited three weeks for nothing,…. spoke to the second supervisor who did send it out to me but still doesn’t work. Now I’m out $125 for a service call. Took five hours for the first supervisor to call back, it just took me six hours for the next one to call me back. They are telling me that they don’t warranty and no linger manufacture the remotes and if I need to replace of any parts, they no longer make it and I’m tough out of luck. I would never be their customer again. I now have a three car garage with no remote controls.

Having experience installing garage doors and openers I wanted to purchase a 6690 L model. These are the better models that supposedly do not contain plastic parts. The web site is useless. The AI Chat is usless. I finally got to speak with a human and they insist you have to have a dealer install this unit. I contacted dealers in my area and they all jack up the price to just under what it will cost to have them install the opener. The only way you can buy one is through the big box stores but you can only buy the cheaper quality Chamberlain models. Total BS company with horrible customer service.
I ordered the wrong part
I ordered the wrong part, I sent it back and after three weeks I called about my refund. Liftmaster said there must have been a glitch. Another week has gone by and still no refund.
Today I was on hold for over 30 minutes, every minute they update you with how much longer I'll be on hold, hold never changes from 10 minutes.
I gave up after been on hold and hit the 1 key for somebody to call me back, you guessed it, I never recieved a call back.
Terrible company to deal with, I guess now I will have to order from China...
Customer service among the worst out of any company
Their customer service can do nothing for you. You'll put in an order. They'll get around to shipping your order sometime in the next two months, and in the meantime, you'll have no confirmation number, no order number, nothing. Calling customer service will put you on the line with a robot that has never heard of the product or the company before. You have to spell the name of the company to it before it'll transfer you to someone. And after you sit on hold for a long time, you might eventually talk to someone, but that someone will gaslight you about not finding your order at all. There wasn't enough information for fedex to deliver the package and I don't have enough information to contact fedex to correct the problem, so i'm out 60 dollars. I can't tell you whether their products work or not, I can just tell you there's a good chance you'll never get them at all.

Liftmaster's warranty needs a large asterisk advising that their service is limited to whenever they get around to it. They admitted to me that they slow down deliveries to their service department for their own convenience knowing it slows down their receiving parts sent in for repair/replacement under warranty. Their concern for their customers inconvenience could not be lower. Turn around time for warranty repairs/replacements is several months! Will NEVER purchase from Liftmaster again.

I ordered a LiftMaster Gateway from their website. They take a 10 days to ship in-stock items, plus 5 days transit time. Pure inefficiency. I can't even imagine how this company would deal with more complex support issues. It just takes one minute to grab a small box and stick a shipping label on it. Come on, guys, it's not rocket science.
UPDATE: After 15 days still waiting for the Gateway. Terrible experience
Non-existent Customer Service
LiftMaster web cite to purchase recommended the wrong replacement batteries. Returned batteries, waited a month for refund before calling customer service. Customer service was unhelpful and unsympathetic. I requested a supervisor which took 3 request to reach. The supervisor, Dianne, not a women, took unsympathetic to a new level. He was uncaring and advised me they followed their proper procedure and did nothing wrong. If LiftMasters goal is to lose customers Dianne is right. The entire experience cost me $30.40 to ship/return the wrong part they sent. I will no longer be doing business with LiftMaster or Chamberlain as they have no integrity or concern for their dwindling customer base.

TERRIBLE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH! Bought a brake tester off them, remote not working . They have been promising for almost a year to provide a replacement, they constantly lie! Just been told that they will not provide me with one, although they advised me 2 weeks ago that its in the post - this came from a manager! The girls on receptions are as bad... love to name and shame them!! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!
New lift master garage door opener does…
New lift master garage door opener does not work on older cars with homelink. Have to buy another device for $60. The installer brought the repeater today did not work said I have no idea and gave me a phone number and left with zero solution. I called liftmaster and was told after 40 minutes on the phone telling me how to sync the opener that I had the wrong repeater. Now I said I followed the directions step by step and the so called expert could not get it to work. Should have asked from the beginning what model repeater I had. If I knew from the beginning that this was going to be 3 service calls and hours of my time I would have purchased another brand. Why could liftmaster not spend the extra couple of bucks to put the proper chip in the opener to work on older cars. But they had to waste money on a phone app I will never use. Product was a disappointment and the installer was not very familiar or informed about the product. After the 1st service call to install the opener, I knew more than the company. I am still waiting for the correct repeater and if this does not work the company can take back the opener and I will find another solution that actually works. Also liftmasters customer service voice response unit is awful because I wanted to speak to a person but had to listen to the installation instructions which I had tried many times just to finally speak with someone who again wasted me time trying to make the wrong device work.

Liftmaster Model 81600 MC. Upgrading my review to 3 stars from 1 star while I wait to see if the replacement unit addresses the original problem.
The original issue:
This model was plagued with sporadic episodes of failing to close when pressing the wall mounted wired button. It did not happen on an open request nor did there appear to be any issue with the safety light beams since the door closes without fail when using a remote (non-wired) control. Replacement of the wall button, logic board and wire connecting the button and board did not address the problem. At least two neighbors in my new housing development are experiencing the same problem with this model. It was difficult to receive callbacks on this issue. However, once I made it past the first tier of support and actually spoke to a supervisor, we agreed we had done all we could to address the issue aside from replacing the unit. Next step which Liftmaster is assisting me with is the shipment of a replacement unit. Likely I will have to install it myself but I’m willing to do that. The supervisor was great at reducing my frustration level which had built up due to no return calls, no solution, etc. Thanks go to “Carlos”.

i hade a class 7 brake rollers installed and calibration Contrack done by this company .afther 4 and half years both gearbox's shit them self contacted lift master no reply ant the moment check no oil in the gearbox's all the bearings have gone not available any more .very poor service will not use them again. i believe that the oil was never checked by the in the calibration .
