On Tuesday whilst I was in my home an unknown person came to my door, rang the door bell and while this person was waiting took it upon himself to peep through my front window. I did not know who or where this person was from. Later in the day checking the mailbox this peeping Tom left his flyer , a real estate agent from LJ Hooker. Is this the level now? Sending strange people to your home and peeping through people’s windows? I sent him a text warning that if he stepped on my property again I would have him charged with trespassing amongst other things. Good job LJ Crooker!

Khloe Zhang and Selena Wang from the Canberra city branch were infuriating to deal with, dismissive, rude and had limited English skills and understanding of tenancy laws.

OMG!!!! My dog and I went for walk and we saw and open house but there was no one inside. So us being snoopy we went in and took a look around THEN WE SAW A HOMELSS MAN SLEEPING ON THE BED!!!! We tried waking him up and it took us 2 mins to wake him up. when we did he went crazy he start hitting and throwing punches and after a while he throw my dog across the room and my dog died in a instant.

Do not rely on LJ Hooker Padstow for your rental or property lease or buy. They are currently under legal investigations and a Fair Trading matter for placing a tenant knowingly in hospital care under negligence for Mycotoxin Poisoning.

The Real Estate Property Agent is Shannon Edwards. She needs her licence revoked. She is taking commissions and leasing moldy homes and jeopardising tenants health.
She has admitted all her rentals are full of mold and is continually taken to the tribunal by tenants for such matters.
She is breaching her duty of care and her responsibilities as an Agent.

Shannon Edwards was witnessed verbally intimidating, abusing and swearing at the chronically ill tenant who went to hospital for her negligence for mold poisoning and she tried covering it up and she is in rehab fighting for her life.

The whole family is sick of mold poisoning and lost all their brand new belongings and savings for this woman and she did nothing about it. All their contents was tested by a Mold Hygienist and the Report sent to her and LJ Hooker Padstow, indicated a positive result of contamination from their rental onto their new property and her vehicle with 8 strains of dangerous mold.
The victim cannot enter her new rental or vehicle which is now contaminated and under remediation.

Shannon Edwards and her team at LJ Hooker Padstow are taking rent and commissions and placing peoples health at risk in moldy homes, with evidence of severe mold infestation growth being covered up and painted over.
They owe the victim an excess of $20,000 in replacement, remediation costs and living costs and are ignoring the family. They live in a hotel.

Tenants in the area and neighbours have complained this woman has been breeching her duty of care for years and lying to tenants for years. This particular home has been leased 3 times in one year making people sick and they did nothing to remediate it and now it is costing someone their life and disability savings. She lied to the tenant advising that it was leased for 10 years and was old and musty.

Shannon Edward’s has been reported to the Union and lack of responsibility by LJ Hooker Padstow and their negligence and to the Police. She has an Intimidation order against her.

Shameful and the community are concerned what this woman and the team at LJ Hooker Padstow are doing to tenants.

We hope she makes a good recovery and that justice is served.

Have contacted multiple times to gain a rental history reference over a week long period via both email and phone. No response via email and told on phone every day the message would be passed on and they are very busy. Front receptionist was quite rude and very unhelpful. Still waiting on reference 5 days later.

We are very pleased that we found Andy Chua at LJ Hooker Springvale. He was the perfect person to sell my Mum’s house. He kept us up to date regularly, and his friendly nature made him a pleasure to deal with. He genuinely cares about his clients. Thank you so much Andy.

I had a terrible experience with the director, dishonest, unprofessional experience and unethical conduct who tries their best to trap vulnerable individuals.

I don't know how this office is still running.

Imagine being questioned over washroom breaks, expected to keep your camera on, constantly monitored, micromanaged to the extreme, and then having to chase your own payment after completing the work.

The workplace culture I experienced felt intimidating, disrespectful, and completely lacking in empathy. Professional concerns were often met with hostility rather than solutions. At times, communication crossed the line from being firm to being outright demeaning and unprofessional.

The irony is that the people demanding professionalism seemed unable to demonstrate it themselves. Staff turnover was incredibly high, and after spending time there, it's not difficult to understand why.

And then comes the payment. Processed. Bounced. Reprocessed. Still unpaid. Plenty of excuses, very little accountability.

Donot work with them!

Well I'm having to agree on what and how most of the reviews are saying on this particular platform, as this agency is a nasty piece of work with a poor attitude. They're consistently rude, disrespectful and irreverent, particularly when it comes to responding to matters accordingly, and at times even urgently. They do not always or necessarily apply responsibility to those items of concern when warranted; and what ought to be their ownership of responsibility, they in turn place it onto the renter. And after having a clean and clear inspection record of several years in our rental from previous agencies, we get our otherwise good standing with a tarnished report from their take-over regarding a tiny trace of grease from a stove hood, something 99.9% of what most households commonly have in their kitchens around the globe; totally unnecessary. Perhaps a polite undocumented reminder could have sufficed sufficiently with something so utterly insignificant. The client with this particular rental property knows full well of the care we have given it over the years. Since these clowns took it on, it seems a shame that the client continues to get ripped off with this ridiculous policy regarding inspections. They would do far better if they inspected the home themselves instead, just a couple of times per year, sparing otherwise steep home inspection fees for FA in having it done for them. Or at the very least, rather than quarterly, have it done every six months. The whole process is quite invasive nonetheless, stripping good tenants of their dignity. Instead, it feels like some weird conspiracy of consequence in just being a renter. Besides, who's to say that a renter's rental isn't a shambles up until the inspection is due. Makes no sense, and is just some obvious ploy in which to rip off the client and humiliate the good tenants. The entire sham is a scam, period.

LJ Hooker fails me more than they succeed.

LJs have managed my rental property for the past 4 years. They can't follow simple, basic instructions like please update the lease agreement for this period with these terms. They continually harass my tenant. The worst low point was sending an automated email on Christmas Day demanding payment when the office was shut. They demand inspections every quarter despite my instruction for annual inspections only.

Useless and nasty. The only thing LJ Hooker does reliably and regularly is charge fees. Don't use them.

To the lady in the LJ hooker vehicle that think's it's funny to disrespect other motorists by speeding & tailgating , can't be trusted with a simple thing like road rules, middle finger to you 🖕

We have dealt with Kelly Smolka, from lj hooker mandurah. Her due diligence and professionalism, is outstanding. She often goes out of her way to find easy and reliable solutions to any issues that may arise with our rental property. We highly recommend her for any nomination of her achievements.

Dealing with Daniel and Brett who run LJ Hooker Southern Gold Coast was an absolute pleasure - nothing was too hard for them when selling my home and helping me buy another home .Highly recommend them for buying renting and selling real estate. Bribie Island office seems to enjoy tormenting people simply because they can.The way you are treated regardless of your cercumstances everything is just a rjoke they simply do not care, Regretably i fell one month behind in my monthy storage shed payments and they are threatining me with an auction or as they put it (sell all your shit)

They will do anything in their power to ruin your time at your rental. I was both an owner and a renter (went with LJ hooker at similar times) and as an owner, they didn’t play by the book, and as a renter, they continued to gaslight, lie, manipulate and be condescending. For your own mental health do NOT use this company. Also, if you work here and don’t like your job, quit….Or better yet, study for something you actually like to do?

I purchased a property through LJ Hooker specifically as an investment, and based on their assurances and sales talk, I agreed to hand over the property management to them as well. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a major mistake.

After four consecutive price drops, the property was finally rented out — but that’s where the problems really started. The communication from the property management team has been extremely poor, especially when it comes to important matters like handling funds and responding to emails. Basic follow-ups take far too long, and there is no sense of accountability or urgency.

The service feels overly commercial, all talk and no action. Once the sale is completed, the level of care and professionalism drops dramatically.

If you are an investor looking for reliable property management, I strongly advise not relying on LJ Hooker. My experience has been far from positive, and I regret choosing them to manage my investment property.

Jane Macken was the worst agent ever to deal with. Simply had no clue what was going on a nd I realised later all the real estate sites only let you review the agent if the property is 'sold' so therefore poor people like me who were totally led up the garden path and our homes did not sell, do not get to review. Makes all the data skewed so only these sites allow an honest review

LJ Hooker Mile End. Zero effort, zero responsibility.
As a landlord I have not been able to trust Hookers to perform even the most basic fundamental jobs.
They have neglected to pay insurance invoices, lost water bills, did not notice tenants' damage to the property and do not follow through on maintenance issues.
They also have a poor understanding of the Residential Tenancies ACT and regulations, demanding that I remove security deadlocks when all that was required was an additional door handle with an internal snib.
Communication is bad, I have had to wait up to 5 weeks for responses to issues and the tenants have had to contact me because the agent does not do anything.
When I have complained to them, they will blame the tenant on every occasion even lying about contacting the tenant. They will never admit they are at fault and refuse to accept responsibility for anything.
This is endemic across the entire company, they gave me a new property manager, because the first one failed the basic functions of a real estate agent. The next one failed as well.
Their boss told me my expectations for basic real estate services were too high for their company.
