If zero stars was an option I’d put that! The engineer came incredibly fast even after been told it wasn’t an emergency. A door was just jammed and we wanted to know what was up with it.
After being told a new mechanism was needed which they didn’t have in stock so we would be better getting 2 new doors instead we advised to put it back together and we’ll look/deal with it at another point as it still locked and one side opened and was functional.
The engineer did this, we paid the call out fee and he left incredibly fast.
2 minutes after I noticed the door didn’t even close now and was wide open and not secure.
After contacting the company we were told numerous times we needed to pay more money to put it right and it was like that when they arrived. When we tried to explain this is not correct they would hang up constantly.
Then the shocking customer service started and accusations of us harassing him.
We contacted the police in the end as the service provided is nothing less than a complete scam and criminal damage.
trading standards have also been advised.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

Genuinely the worst experience I've ever had. This was the first website that showed up after I googled for a locksmith in the Bristol area and like for every other person here, I got quoted a fee of only 49 pounds if the locksmith could get the door to open using regular methods which sounded reasonable for a night call. Before I accepted that, I decided to check other websites for their quotes, and my first red flag should've been when the second website (emergencylocksmith24.co.uk) I dialed was answered by the same woman who answered for this god-forsaken website. I then dialed some locally recommended locksmiths but since they all quoted slightly higher prices, I decided to go with these evil scumbags. The second red flag I should've picked up on was when the locksmith called and made sure to let me know that after he arrives I would have to pay 49 pounds regardless of whether he gets the lock open or not. I agree to this suspicious demand for whatever reason and he arrives and lo and behold he does not get the door open with regular methods. He tells me that drilling is the only option left to get the door open so I ask him how much he would charge for that. He says 89 pounds to which I agree hesitantly. He drills the lock open, leaves a mess, whips open his calculator and punches in a few numbers before he tells me that I owe him 109 pounds, a figure he seemingly pulls out from the dark crevices of his buttocks. I ask him what happened to the 89 pounds he quoted before and he answers that with 20% extra charge it's 109 pounds. I question him what the 20% was for and why he didn't mention it when he talked about the 89 pound charge (obviously to rinse me out of everything I own and hold sacred) and he gives me vague hand-wavey answers about how it was just company policy and that there was nothing he could do about it. I am genuinely terrible and irresponsible with my money and would've paid a lot more to get into my room but what really offended me about this interaction was how blatantly dishonest this company was about how much they would charge me and the little ways they tried to weasel extra money out of me. These people are horrible evil scammers who should not be trusted at all and I hope that other people unlike me will have the foresight to go through trustpilot reviews before commiting their money to companies like this.

Zero stars.
First, they are NOT CHEAP. They charged us £49 call out, £185 to open our door by drilling out the old lock, and £185 to put in a new lock. Plus VAT, so £500 in total.
Secondly, the man doing the work damaged the surrounding woodwork on the adjacent window because he was so heavy handed.
Thirdly, the new plate doesn't fit the door frame so it looks a right mess.
I will have to pay someone again to put all this right.
I complained and sent photos of the damage and poor quality but they have ignored me. Their website says the work is guaranteed for 12 months but they are not responding to my concerns so I don't know how they can honour this guarantee. The testimonials on their website bear no resemblance to the trust pilot reviews.

If I could give them a Zero if I could, dod not use this company they are scammers

scammer they said £39 when i called office but when the guy came he asked for £360 in the end he damaged the lock without replacement i paid £180 it took him exactly 2 minutes to drill it i could do that by myself . never again i wish checked the reviews on trustpilot .

The lock of one our doors got broken and the door was stuck on THursday, 5 FEbruary, 2026, We called " Locksmith cheap Lancaster" £40 callout fee, locks form $25....sounds reasonable. My wife found them on the internet, they said they would come in 30 minutes. THen that turned out to be almost 2 hours. Fine. When the "engineer" finally arrived, he looked at the lock and claimed the lock could not be picked, it had to be drilled. THen he started talking about additional charges plus fees, in total he wanted £860 + VAT (20%)so about 1040 for the work. WE refused, then he insisted we pay 58 pounds cancellation fee, which is not mentioned at all on their website.
(Just to compare, the next day, a different company fixed the door and the broken gearbox ( that was the problem) in about 50 minutes for 185 pounds and gave a year warranty on the work.)

Please avoid Locksmith Cheap at all costs, they are not professionals but scammers.

Extremely Disappointing Service & Unprofessional Behaviour

I had a very frustrating experience with Locksmith Cheap and would strongly advise against using their services.

After a day out with my kids, I returned home to find that our front door key wouldn’t work. I searched online for local locksmiths, and Locksmith Cheap was one of the first results. I called them for more information regarding their pricing and services, and the woman I spoke to assured me that someone would be sent to my location within 30 minutes. She also promised that the technician would explain all costs before beginning any work. However, she was unwilling to provide any pricing or terms over the phone.

When the technician arrived, he immediately claimed that the lock couldn’t be picked and would need to be drilled out, with a base price of £129 + VAT. He mentioned additional costs for replacing the lock and labour, but when I asked for a full breakdown of the labour costs, he became vague and repeatedly stated that his labour was "very expensive" but refused to provide specifics. This raised major red flags.

Deciding not to proceed with the work, I informed the technician that we no longer wished to move forward. To my surprise, I was then told I’d have to pay a cancellation fee, which had never been mentioned during my initial call. Based on other reviews I found later, I could have been charged anywhere from £500 to £750 + VAT for a service I didn’t request.

After the technician left, I received an intimidating phone call from a "No ID" number, where the caller aggressively threatened me with further charges and insisted I pay the cancellation fee. This behaviour was completely uncalled for and unprofessional.

Thankfully, I was able to have the lock fixed by another company, which provided excellent service and much more transparency.

Please avoid Locksmith Cheap at all costs!

Avoid at all costs, website shows price will be confirmed before work and you will get an email invoice this is a complete lie no price was confirmed prior to completion even after I asked for one. Had I have been given a price I would NEVER have agreed for the work to go ahead.
Emailed and called multiple times to see why I’ve been so massively over charged and no response!!!

NOT CHEAP. (Edinburgh) Website shows labour from £39 and locks from £25 and says "We will give you complete information about the charges BEFORE proceeding with the job.". No info was given when booked. On arrival, cost £210 for simply changing mortice lock (non-emergency). Took 10 minutes only. Wish I'd checked trustpilot!

Was quoted a price over the phone and 3 times I was assured the price £49 for labour and a minimum £25 for a new lock again i questioned price and was assured this was correct they ended up charging me £120 and no new lock fitted they wanted another £120 for that so left with no lock and door locked by the chub key awful service and extortionate prices !!!!

Classic case of bait and switch, quoted one price then increased it by 50% once at the door. They then refused to leave unless we paid a cancellation fee. They were also not qualified to make the repair, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Absolutely dreadfully customer service. Came to sort out my lock not that would not lock. I explained it was the lock that was out of line due to the sun. The locksmith came and adjusted my door drilled out some of the door frame. He assured me it would not happen again and if it did he it would be free of charge. One month later I had the same problem, the company refused to honour this. He said they is only a guarantee on locks but there webpage clearly says locks and workmanship. Also I was charged £10 more than quoted. I emailed them and no respons. Would not recommend this company to anyone. Reviews on their website do not reflect those on here

Horrendous… quick enough to come out and take your money but when it comes to fixing issues with the product, they fob you off and palm you off at every opportunity. Customer service is certainly not this company’s thing. Avoid!

So i was in Liverpool half steaming and my wife was in Edinburgh properly steaming and lost her key to our house this was 9pm on Saturday night. I called these guys and it was sorted in 1/2 an hour. It wasn’t cheap but excellent response.

This was the worst experience I've ever had with a trade company. The locksmith i presume got his certificate off the back of a cereal packet. He was not confident or competent took over 3hrs to get the door open by drilling it to death. Then a further hour to a fit a temporary lock that didn't fit. Rang his supervisor twice for advice.Told he would come back in 2days and id need to pay 300-400 for parts and fitting. Or if I want it done cheaper to get a my boyfriend or someone else to help or buy a second hand door. He became annoyed he had spent so long and he had to go and to pay him despite me not being happy with the work. He said he would take the lock out the door if I didnt pay for him to come back or I could pay £180 for the lock that doesn't fit and pay another company to come and fix it. I felt pressured and intimidated. I spoke to the manager who didnt seem to care. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I called Locksmith-Cheap.co.uk because I was locked out and needed help getting back into my home. I was told over the phone that it would be £49 for a simple door opening. As this seemed to be the most competitive price, I agreed to go ahead.

Around 30 minutes later, the technician arrived. He said very little, but his attitude was rude and dismissive — he clearly didn’t want to be there. There was no friendliness, empathy, or professionalism, which made an already stressful situation feel even worse. I genuinely felt like crying.

He used a piece of paper, wedged it between the door and the frame, gave it a tug, and the door popped open — no tools, and it took seconds.

Then he told me the total cost was £150, saying this included all kinds of extra charges like a call-out fee — none of which had been mentioned during the phone call. I was too shocked and upset to argue.

Afterwards, I called the woman I originally spoke to. She couldn’t explain the price and repeated that £49 was for a simple job, which this clearly was. I also never received an invoice or any paperwork.

I’m extremely disappointed — not just by the unexpected charges, but by the service and attitude of technician and whole process and . This experience left me feeling taken advantage of at a vulnerable moment.

Needed a lock unjammed and called this company can only say it was a rip off and so annoyed with myself. A very pleasant young man came, tried to open the door and as I stood watching I thought to myself does he actually know what he is doing! This was our third broken lock needing sorted in 4 months and after numerous conversations with his boss they came up with a price which to my mind was astronomical nearly £700 however the door needed opening.
He couldn’t get a replacement gear box so cleaned up the old one and put in a new lock charged A call-out fee £49+200 labour +100 for cleaning up gearbox with WD40 +185 for new lock. Now normally I’m not so gullible but I have to admit this was a biggie! So learn from my mistake and get a reputable locksmith should you need one.

I phoned them, they said an engineer will call in 1Hr, the engineer did call and said "I will be with you in 30 mins". I was thinking great service, but 2Hr's had passed and no engineer, I called the office and was told he will be with you soon. At 21:30 still no one!, my first call to them was at 12:30. I called the office again and told them I would find another company.
