I did my comp crew certification through LSS and the instructors were incredible. My course was split over two weekends, and had the pleasure of working with two very experiences skippers who really made me feel comfortable to learn everything I needed to and more.

Would highly recommend LSS and I'll be back for future certifications and maybe some racing!

My husband and I had a truly fantastic experience on our Day Skipper Course with LSS, and a huge part of that was thanks to our instructor, James. He was absolutely excellent – knowledgeable, friendly, and professional, while also creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere. He took great care of everyone and went above and beyond to make sure we learned as much as possible. We really appreciated how he encouraged us all to try different maneuvers (sometimes twice!) so we could gain confidence and understanding. James also tailored parts of the course to our interests, adding extra practice on berthing, which was a highlight. His individual feedback through the weekend and after was incredibly useful – thoughtful, personal, and specific, not the usual generic comments you often hear. His clear, direct, and engaging style made the weekend both enjoyable and full of valuable learning. We genuinely feel we got the most we possibly could from it.
We also did Competent Crew Course with LSS which was also excellent! Looking forward to our exam now for the Theory Course!

Excellent training course to sharpen the boat handling skills under engine. Well organised. Doug was an excellent instructor. Lots of practice over one weekend.

I attended the Competent Crew Course with LLS recently and found the course to be excellent. Our trainer Andy Young proved to extremely knowledgeable and his training methods were clear and concise. A very hands on and valuable experience that I would highly recommend to anybody wanting to learn about how to sail.

Just had an awesome time on the Competent Crew course. Andy our instructor was a lovely man and great teacher. It truly felt like a holiday, super cool! Also met lovely people and I am really looking forward to taking my Day Skipper in October.

I recently completed my Day Skipper course with London School of Sailing and had an amazing experience. Jenn was a fantastic instructor, clear, patient, and supportive throughout. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to start their sailing journey.

If you are searching for a sailing school that will give you an introduction to the realities of offshore sailing in an environment where you can test yourself while learning invaluable lessons and genuinely have fun then LSS nails these requirements. Two Rolex Fastnets now and it keeps getting better!

Great weekend for the RORC Morgan cup. Ruaraidh is a fantastic skipper and calm, fun teacher. It makes for a nice culture on board and really enjoyable experience. Will definitely sail with them again!

Did my RYA competent crew course with LSS in May. I was nervous about what to expect but Sharon went through it all with me, sent me good information on joining the boat, what to pack etc so I was well set up. When I arrived, the instructor Kevin was really welcoming and first thing we went through all the safety precautions and he explained everything on the boat so I felt comfortable and like I’d already learned loads when went out to sail. I had a great week, learned loads, saw new places and now I can’t wait for more sailing! Thanks LSS, I’ll be back!

I had an incredible experience at the Round the Island regatta with London School of Sailing (LSS). The team was exceptionally professional, ensuring everyone was fully integrated into the tasks on the yacht. Rory and Kate were amazing leaders, and I hope to repeat this experience with them next year.

We finished the 2024 Round the Island Race! I don't need to say anymore than that.

First class sailing with excellent instruction for novices and experienced sailors alike. We sailed the Round the Island 2024 in 30 knots plus winds and whilst many retired we enjoyed a brilliant and safe race placing second in the IRC Sailing School class.

Just returned from another blast on the water with LSS. Such a memorable weekend, in more ways than one! at The Round the Island Race. Thank you LSS for all the pre-race arrangements and to Ruaraidh for your sense of humour and skill in getting us round the island in very challenging conditions .
Everyone was so nice and easy to 'live with' for the weekend and really hope to meet you all again soon.

Whether you are a novice sailor or experienced racer this is the team to go sailing with. A fun and competitive team building experience with the happy side effect of winning races. Our skipper Ruaraidh and 1st mate Jenn worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure the boat was in peak condition and were first up and last to bed as well as being excellent entertaining and instructive company. I have been racing in the Carribean for several years and LSS is by far the best all round sailing experience I have had. Its made good as much by the character of the team as the quality of the boat. I would highly recommend you try it.

What an epic adventure with London School of Sailing - 'Rum ride' will stay in my memory for a long time! Ruardaih and Sharon go above and beyond to ensure everyone has a good time, feel comfortable and learn something new. Ruardaih is one of the best skippers I have sailed in the last 5+ years, he is knowledgeable, very experienced and fun to be with! I highly recommend London School of Sailing!
