The warm greeting from when we walked through the door, to the friendly, professional advise from Gary. We brought in several watches to be valued. I ended up purchasing another. Total impulse purchase - this was due to Gary showing the item & pointing out the value. We went to an appointment, then returned to the store and made the purchase.

I have always bought my watch’s and jewellery from Lunns I loved going in the staff used to be so friendly and welcoming now it’s like a chore for some of them to even muster a smile I went in recently and asked to have an alteration done to one of my rings I was told to go on Amazon and order an adjuster I said I didn’t want to do that I wanted to have it done properly and asked could they do what they done years ago and fit a piece onto the ring to which I was told it’s very expensive to do that so I asked again and explained what I wanted and was again told I could just order a thing of Amazon so again I said I didn’t want that she then said I would need to have the ring sized and made smaller but again that’s very expensive I simply said that’s twice you have told me what I’m asking for is very expensive but I haven’t once asked you for a price so clearly I must not have been dressed well enough or looked like I had enough money to shop in Lunns even though my engagement ring and wedding ring where both from Lunns and they are what I needed done. I actually brought the same engagement ring in to be valued and have repairs done to it as I needed it for my home insurance again it was actually the same woman who was on the service desk and again she was very dismissive and again told me it would be expensive to have repairs done and then valued so she would let me know before they touch it I said it was ok just do the work and I will pay when I come to collect it I get that’s maybe the standard for that type of thing but why say it’s going to be expensive when I clearly I didn’t ask and just said to do what ever it needed and even though I paid to have the repairs done which was to add platinum to the claws and a bit on the side the ring came back and weighed the same as what it went because they used platinum from another bit of my ring to do the repairs and charged me for the privilege needles to say I won’t be shopping in queens arcade again or in the tag Heuer shop that’s been opened as I went in to buy my husband the smart watch for Christmas and I wasn’t even allowed to touch the watch until I paid for it and I’m not even joking and yes I went in with work clothes on (I help my husband with groundwork’s) so I had tracksuit bottoms and a work hoodie on but still it shouldn’t matter what I was wearing I knew the one I wanted and told the lady this so she took it out of the display box and held it I went to take it to have a closer look and she moved it away from me only I wanted the watch and wouldnt have had time to go find it somewhere else (and I didn’t want her thinking I couldn’t afford it or was another time waster) I would have walked out she then had the the check to say oh will that be credit card no love it won’t it will be debit card I didn’t even get offered as much as a bottle of water but yet a man and woman came in and as soon as they sat down got offered tea, coffee and water I have to add they also left with nothing (it takes them that long to box it up and wrap it the couple had finished the coffee by the time my watch was ready) but granted they looked the part but sure isn’t that the way it usually goes with time wasters they always get vip treatment and the poor everyday person gets looked down on. I just feel like now you get judged on how you look and some of the staff think they are better than you and you don’t deserve to be in the shop as you don’t look like you can afford to be there which is a disgrace
