Returns Policy - Beware

Be super careful about their returns policy. You have 30 days to return but only if you email them within 14 days of delivery.

I emailed at 18 days as I hadn’t spotted that you needed to email within a certain timeframe, meaning the items would be returned in plenty of time but they refused.

No customer service so they’re clearly not looking for repeat custom.

The bed sheets I ordered where the cheapest I could find anywhere. Delivery was quick and straightforward, and I have no problems in recommending this company based on my experience.

Profiteering from return postage charges

Ordered curtain which were not suitable and was charged an extortionate amount to return them. Used the parcel return link on their website which quoted £6.00 to send via Royal Mail, a perfectly acceptable amount - Royal Mail current fees are £6.45 or £5.15 (if done online) for a medium sized parcel Tracked 48 up to 20KG - which was the method used via the link. The actual amount deducted by Maison White from my refund was £20 as my parcel was over 5KG???? Having spoken to them about this, they claim not to be profiteering! Not quite sure how they're getting away with it but they obviously are.
Be warned if you need to return anything to them, do your homework so you don't get ripped off like I have and be prepared to wait a while for your refund, they're not particularly quick, had to contact them to chase to see when I could expect it.

Edit: having read the response I’ve received and others who have found it necessary to give a negative review, it appears that this is a company that doesn’t take well to unfavourable customer feedback. The general tone of response is highly unprofessional, bordering on sarcastic and on occasion downright rude. Take a little time to read through the responses to their 1* reviews before you make a purchase just incase you need to make a return or have cause to complain. It’s a bit of an eye opener.
With regard to their postage fees, not everyone, myself included have a set of scales at home. I find it highly unlikely that Royal Mail would, as my response suggests, agree such a deal with a small individual company, in particular what appears to be a bad deal. Royal Mail’s published fees are the fees they charge, they certainly wouldn’t charge more for a lesser service.
The post office I dropped my parcel off at had no queries about the pre postage paid or the weight of the parcel as it was, as far as they were concerned, well within the 20kg weight limit for the Tracked 48 service. I would therefore welcome an explanation from Maison White as to where the additional fee I have been charged has gone; it’s certainly not to Royal Mail.

Here is our returns information - All clear and even highlighted that it's best not to use the option if the parcel weighs over 5kgs - such as yours, I am sorry you are disgruntled but we couldn't be more clear in our returns options which I have copied below.

I placed an order for a dolls house for…

I placed an order for a dolls house for my daughter’s 4th birthday on the Maison White website, which cost £129.50. I received emails confirming my order had been processed and when my order had been despatched. My order should have been delivered today and when I spoke with Parcel Force they advised me that the sender had not sent my order. I then attempted to login into my account on the Maison White website and my account had been blocked by the website owner so I was unable to look at my order details. I tried to contact Maison White on two different contact numbers and neither calls were answered, I then emailed Maison White and received an extremely rude and unhelpful response.
I have now had to go through PayPal and claim a refund through their protection policy and have to reorder my daughter’s main birthday present on short notice for her birthday this week. I am ABSOLUTELY APPALLED with Maison White Ltd and their terrible service!

I am sorry you feel this way.

I can see you opened a PayPal claim within minutes of emailing us.

As explained, unfortunately Parcelforce did not turn up to collect your parcel yesterday. I appreciate you have spoken to their customer service team who have told you different, we are the ‘source’ and I can only tell you what I know vs what a customer service representative miles away sitting behind a computer screen can.

You hadn’t chosen for courier or paid any postage we opted for - we used a 24 hour courier at our expense. Unfortunately as above they hadn’t turned up yesterday when we expected. They were due to collect by 4.30pm today but as you were clearly upset about the situation and being unable to get through on the phone, we obliged with a refund and we stopped the delivery being dispatched to you.

I appreciate your frustrations but the parcel could have been collected today and delivered tomorrow, but you raised a refund request immediately after emailing us, which didn’t give us a chance to explain/respond.

I also understand you wanted to resolve this by telephone but no one was available to take your call when you called, I am very sorry about that. We responded to your PayPal request and email within 15minutes of receiving your email to resolve with a full refund.

Regarding your ‘block’ on the website where you were trying to log in - you had checked out your order as ‘guest’ you had not signed up for an account during the checkout process, I can see this in your order detail. I can see you have signed up for newsletter which is different to signing up for an account on the website. The website will automatically block anyone it thinks is trying to evade it. It’s a little sensitive at the moment for anyone trying to access account areas where it doesn’t recognise emails/passwords if they don’t have an account.

Again we can only apologies for your experience.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

If I could give this company 0 stars I would! My daughter offered a jelly cat for her sister for Christmas and was promised it would get here for Christmas. It did not! We had to go out and buy the same item from another shop. We received a patronising email which tried to talk their way out of failing to meet the deadline for the delivery. We have sent the item back but we STILL HAVE NO REFUND!
I am trying to chase this up but we are being ignored by the company, send multiple emails with the Royal Mail proof that we have returned the item but there is no response at all from the company. I am now out of pocket and have no item!!! Appalling customer service I would recommend you DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

This is totally incorrect on all accounts and we have not failed to meet the advertised deadline, apart from your hope and misuderstanding. We specifically put a note on our website to inform customers that due to the volume of seasonal orders "Dispatch time on 2nd class mail was 2/3 days" and that last post by 1st class was Friday 20th December. You placed the order on the evening of the 19th December by 2nd class post. How are we to know of your deadlines, no promises were made on our behalf. We did not reply to your multiple emails sent in the early hours Friday morning, but we did refund the first thing in our working hours.

Terrible service from start to finish

Terrible service from start to finish. I brought my daughter a jelly cat bear for a chritmas present. After a week I still hadn't received it so I emailed the company and it arrived a few days later. I was send a bright pink rabbit instead of the bear in chritmas pjs I had ordered. I emailed the company again to say I had been sent the wrong item. They send me a sarcastic reply saying they empty humans not robots and mistakes happen, fair enough but say it like that more a an apology would have been nice. They then proceeded to day they would not send me the item I ordered until they had there rabbit back. This was a week before chritmas. 5 mins later I had another email saying the item I has ordered was now out of stock. I was forced to spend another 49.99 elsewhere to get the item I wanted and futher more the company didn't issue my refund when they received the item. Instead they held my money until I sent an emailing asking where my refund was. They tried to day the didn't have the item when I had royal mail proof of its delivery. I do now have my refund thanks to me pushing but I would advise you NOT to us this company especially if you want what your ordered and in time for an event.

Wall sheep heads

I ordered two wall sheep heads, you might think, who wants two sheep heads on their wall? They're for my garden room wall. They're shabby chic style. I just love them.
I'm an interior designer and love quirky tastful items.
Also, this is the first order I placed with Mason White Ltd, I paid for early delivery, and they arrived within a day, amazing service. I will definitely use this company again.

Brilliant company

Brilliant company! First time used for Christmas gifts. Arrived very quickly and excellently packaged. I just stumbled across them whilst googling places that sold a specific jewellery brand and I’m very pleased I found them as I will recommend to others and definitely use again!

Faulty product and poor customer service

Poor customer service, no good will or efforts to meet a compromise. Would not use again or recommend to others.
I certainly won't be buying any William Morris at Home products again from Maison White or Bedeck (manufacture) as they are either 'seconds' or substandard.
The hole in my (less that 30 day duvet cover) that has been washed twice is from a material fault not my washing machine!
I guess my current situation is part of the joys of using a small business who does not have the financial budget or business nous to realise that satisfied customers are returning customers!

Great first impression

I had a wonderful experience with this company and their customer service agents. Email query was responded to quickly and after registering for their newsletter I believed postage was tracked and free but the website was clear in that paid for postage is tracked. After contacting the team about whether additional pillowcases were also embroidered. The team later confirmed all postage whether free or paid for is tracked. Free postage takes longer to deliver than paid for services. Which makes sense. I bought beautiful Laura Ashley crane embroidered bedding with extra pillowcases. Just stunning. Prices are so reasonable. I saved as least 75.00 on my order. And customer services kindly reimbursed me my postage charge that day for the misunderstanding on postage delivery timescales. Very happy overall and my duvet set arrived promptly on 2nd class RM tracked. I would definitely recommend and order in future.

Rude Customer Service

The absolute WORST customer service I have EVER received. I phoned with a query, was spoken to very abruptly by a member of their warehouse team and at the end of the call an insulting expletive was shouted down the phone. The manager I then made contact with, had no interest in making amends.
I found the curtains cheaper elsewhere!!
