Well organised trip with travel arrangements all running smoothly and very comfortable hotel accomodation. Scenery was delighful especially the Bernina Express but all other rail journies were relaxed and pleasant.
Marvellous Escapes were attentive and thorough throughout.

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Norway travelling from Oslo to Bergen via Flam and returning to Oslo. The trip was planned and organised just how we wanted with Christian, after that communication with the company was easy through a whattsapp group. The hotels were all within walking distance from the train stations. The train journeys were spectacular and everything ran like clockwork. When there was one small hiccup it was resolved quickly and efficiently. We will defiately use Marvellous Escapes again.

I saw an ad somewhere for Marvellous Escapes, and they really are good. I spoke to Olivia and said I wanted to go to Vienna by train and initially said I'd go to Salzburg as well, but changed that to Nuremberg fairly last minute, which was easily accommodated by Olivia. I confess I was apprehensive about travelling across Europe on trains on my own, but was told that Marvellous Escapes would be there for support every step of the way, and that proved very useful when my first train, Eurostar to Paris, was cancelled. Paul at Marvellous Escapes got me a flight direct to Zurich from Gatwick, so the following morning I easily got my train from Zurich to Vienna. A 9-hour train journey seemed formidable but it was a great experience watching the changing landscape and the river Rhine looking quite small compared to how it was when I saw it again a few days later. Vienna proved to be just as beautiful as I had imagined and I got to see some great art by Gustav Klimt and many others at the Belvedere a short distance from the hotel. The best restaurant (I found randomly) was an Italian called Fine Fine. Elsewhere, I did try the traditional Wiener schnitzel and sausage, but wasn't impressed. After a few days in Vienna, I moved on to Nuremberg via Munich, which was very busy because it was Oktoberfest. I liked Nuremberg very much and had a lot of help with directions to places from a lady behind the desk at the hotel reception. I went up to the castle on the hill, and the nearby Albrecht Dürer house, which was very interesting. Next stop was a Cologne, which I wouldn't recommend, although the Rhine is very impressive, and the cathedral is an extraordinary sight when you come out of the station. As usual I got lost - couldn't find the hotel in the first place, but managed to find a nice Turkish restaurant for the evening meal. Travel back home was straightforward - Eurostar from Brussels was on time. Overall, it was a great experience.

We wanted to go on the Bernina Express and to have an itinerary organised around this for a specific 6 day period.
The discussions we had were very professional, helpful and our preferences were completely understood . The additional ideas we were given were also appreciated .
We received a suggested timetable which included specific travel times, hotels and additional information including our flight details.
Marvellous Escapes could not have been more helpful. They also had a 24 hour emergency number which we needed. We had an immediate response and a quick resolution and this backup was very reassuring.
We can recommend Marvellous Escapes and those we mainly dealt with , Paul and Christian, without reservation.
It s a knowledgeable, responsive and highly professional and friendly organisation that deserves a five star rating.

Such a fantastic experience from start to finish. Amazing trip booked by Hayley, every detail sorted for us and everything was fantastic. Hotels and trains were all lovely and centrally located. We recently spent 16 days travelling on all the trains in Switzerland, Bernia Express, Glazier Express, the golden pass as well as a boat trip on Lake Geneva and Lake Brienz, the Matterhorn paradise experience, the James Bond restaurant at Schilthorn and assorted other forms of transport covered by the Swiss travel pass. All the details were arranged by Marvellous Escapes and ran like clock work. The attention received meant that we were secure in the knowledge that our special holiday would be perfect and we would have no issues using Marvellous Escapes for future adventures as this one was everything we hoped for and more.

The marvellous escape team organised the most perfect trip for myself and my wife we had the most wonderful experience in Austria and Switzerland great train travel brilliant hotel accommodation everything was on time so easy to travel on the Swiss travel pass by train boat bus I thank all the team for their efforts in arranging this break highly recommended 10/10.

Laurie was most helpful in drawing up a programme to meet our wishes. Laurie used her personal knowledge to guide us through the process and made positive suggestions to improve the trip. At this time, I can only comment on the booking experience as the trip is many months away.

This is our second holiday with Marvellous Escapes. We travelled by rail from Copenhagen to Gothenburg and then Norway including a fjords tour. We did not make this easy for Laurie booking it close to the travel dates but as was our previous experience the attention to detail, quality of all elements of the trip and communication is excellent. I also have to acknowledge Laurie was right - no motion sickness on the fjords trip, and it was breathtaking.

Booking this holiday was quick and hassle free. Our travel agency Hayley was very friendly, funny and excited to support us in enjoying our anniversary in the Alps. We are looking forward to the train journeys in Swiss Alps :)

I wanted to spend a week in Venice, travelling by train rather than flying. They organised everything: Train times and tickets, overnight hotel accommodation there and back water taxis and a lovely hotel in Venice only 10 minute walk from St mark's square. Also a city tour and visits to islands. They planned it all in perfect detail. Peter

We did the Venice, Florence to Rome trip. Outstanding in terms of communication for the trip on booking. The hotel in Venice was lovely, set opposite a great cafe and close to everything. Train to Florence great, hotel is lovely. Has all the remnants of a golden era of Italy. We went to Rome and the location 10 min walk from station was outstanding. Rooftop bar and relaxation area couldn’t fault. Been a lot of places and this trip and hotels ranked with the best

From the first enquiry to the phone call when we got back from our holiday Marvellous Escapes have been brilliant.
We gave them an idea of where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do and they made it happen.
They organised the trains which worked perfectly, they picked the hotels and apartment which were amazing and they suggested trips and activities for us to do which we thoroughly enjoyed.
There was 24 hour support if we needed it and we felt they had our best at heart.
I have given them 5 stars but if I could have given them more I would have. I will definitely use them again and I feel confident in recommending them.

We have just returned from the most wonderful trip to Italy to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

From the very beginning, the communication from Marvellous Escapes was exceptional. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble and there was always someone on hand to help with any query, big or small. When you are travelling between several different destinations, having that reassurance and knowing support is there makes such a difference.

The organisation was fantastic. Our travel documents were beautifully presented, clear and separated into categories, so everything we needed was easy to find throughout the holiday. All the little details had been thought about, which took so much of the stress out of a multi-centre trip.

The itinerary itself was perfect for such a special celebration. Travelling through Venice, Florence, Rome and finally the Sorrento area gave us completely different experiences at every stage and created memories we will treasure for years to come. It genuinely felt like the trip had been designed around us and the occasion rather than simply being a standard holiday package.

We are forever grateful to Laurie, Paul and the whole Marvellous Escapes team for the care, organisation and personal service that went into making our 25th anniversary so memorable. From planning the trip to supporting us while we were away, the service was outstanding.

18 day trip across Canada, premium economy from Heathrow to Vancouver, car to hotel waiting at airport. We had a hop on hop off bus tour which was a good way to to use our limited time. We had a full day coach trip to Vancouver island to Butchart gardens which were beautiful and Victoria. Transfer to the Rocky Mountain train, goldleaf excellent food and plenty to drink great staff making sure we wanted for nothing while we experienced the sights of the Rockies. Night stay Kamloops transfer back to train and on to Jasper yet more food and drink. More organised trips out to Maligne lake for boat cruise, next day
Columbia Icefields sky walk and walking on the Glacier great day out. Coach to Calgary night stop over . We flew to Toronto and had an excellent hotel view of lake and harbour. We took the trip to Niagra falls,the boat trip was a great experience but you'll get damp despite the ponchos. We took a Toronto harbour boat tour which gave a nice alternative view of the city. Business class train travel to Ottowa for one night, next day by train to Montreal, hop on hop off bus tour then day at leisure . We travelled on to Quebec city by train,the following day we had coach trip around the city. Our coach driver/ guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable. Return to Montreal airport by limousine for flight home. This was a great trip of life time all sorted by the staff at Marvellous Escapes, covered all our wishes . All travel and transfers were all smooth and we were lucky enough to have great weather. This is the second time we have used Marvellous Escapes both time a good experience.
