My MedBlue experience was perfect!

I had a hair transplantation at MedBlue on the 6th of July and I had a great experience.
I was in touch with Zulal, the main consultant, for close to a year prior to the procedure and she kept me well informed the entire time and seemed to genuinely care about my results.
The clinic was clean and well organised. The staff were lovely, talkative and made the experience very fun.
The procedure itself was easy, the results so far seem great and they I was well taken care of throughout. I highly recommend MedBlue

I wanted to share my experience after undergoing a 4,600 graft FUE hair transplant at MedBlue Turkey in Istanbul with the team of Dr. Canberk Turan and Surgeon Dr. Oğuzhan Kurt. This review reflects my personal experience and results 7.5 months after surgery. I also plan to post updates at 9, 12, 18, and 24 months because I know how valuable long-term progress photos are when researching clinics.

Why I Chose MedBlue Turkey (Istanbul)
After comparing numerous clinics, MedBlue stood out because of its reviews, communication, pricing, and organization. Their patient coordinator, Zulal, was extremely responsive throughout the process. Even now, more than seven months after surgery, my questions are usually answered within a day despite the seven-hour time difference between Turkey and the U.S.
My consultation was completed through encrypted WhatsApp using photographs. Based on those photos, MedBlue estimated I would need approximately 4,000–4,250 grafts from my scalp and beard, with reconstruction of my hairline and frontal area using the FUE technique. During surgery they ultimately transplanted 4,600 grafts, which exceeded the original estimate.
Cost and Value
I selected the Turquoise Package, which cost €3,300 (approximately $3,775 USD when I booked). Including my direct Turkish Airlines flight from Boston, travel insurance, and seat selection, my total trip cost was approximately $4,900 USD.
For everything included—hotel, transportation, translators, surgery, medications, follow-up support, and organization—I felt the value was excellent.
Travel Experience
The overall travel experience exceeded my expectations.
Turkish Airlines was one of the nicest airlines I've personally flown, and Istanbul Airport was modern, efficient, and surprisingly easy to navigate considering its size. MedBlue sent a detailed video showing exactly where to meet the transportation driver after arrival, which made the process stress-free.
Every driver arrived early, the transportation vans were comfortable, and all transfers between the airport, hotel, clinic, and hyperbaric chamber appointments were arranged ahead of time.
I also enjoyed exploring Istanbul. Coming from the United States, it was fascinating experiencing a city with such deep history, unique architecture, and the ability to cross from Europe into Asia simply by crossing a bridge.
Surgery Day
The procedure was divided into two sessions.
The morning was dedicated to harvesting the grafts, followed by lunch, and then the afternoon focused on implanting the grafts. The entire day lasted around seven to eight hours.
The translator stayed with me throughout the procedure and explained every step, which helped make the experience much less stressful.
I highly recommend downloading podcasts, audiobooks, or music beforehand. I listened to podcasts throughout the procedure, and it made the day pass much faster.
Pain and Recovery
Pain is obviously subjective, but in my experience it was much easier than expected.
The only uncomfortable part was the local anesthetic injections, which lasted only a few minutes. They reminded me of the numbing injections used during dental work. After that, I was numb for the remainder of the procedure and felt very little discomfort.
Recovery progressed smoothly, and I appreciated the post-operative support from MedBlue.
Things That Helped
A few suggestions for future patients:
Download podcasts or audiobooks before surgery.
Bring warm clothing for the hyperbaric chamber if you choose that treatment, as it becomes cold during the later portion of the session.
Verify ahead of time whether your prescription medications are permitted in Turkey.
Arrange international phone service or an eSIM before departure.
If you rely on a VPN, test it before traveling.
Safety
As a U.S. traveler, I did not require a visa for my December 2025 trip. At that time the U.S. Department of State listed most of Turkey, including Istanbul, as Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution, while higher-level warnings applied only to specific provinces near the Syrian border hundreds of miles away.
I personally felt safe throughout my stay in Istanbul. Everyone I interacted with—from hotel staff to drivers and clinic employees—was friendly and professional.
Current Results
At 7.5 months, my results have exceeded my expectations.

The entire hair transplant process at MedBlue - from the start till the end was conducted extremely well.
All my questions during my personal research phase were answered by the team at MedBlue in a detailed and satisfying manner, which convinced me to have my treatment done with them. The booking process was straightforward and the staff was very helpful. The entire time that I spent in Istanbul for the HT with MedBlue - from the pickup services to the clinic and the transplant were extremely well organised and the fact that every patient got singular attention from the staff made it clear that I had made the right decision.
It has been six months since my treatment and I am quite satisfied with my progress and growth, and would recommend MedBlue under Dr. Turan for anyone seeking hair treatment.

I would highly recommend this clinic for anyone interested in a hair transplant. The staff are very caring and attentive to any needs you may have and do a great job with everything including transplantation, transportation, and exhibiting professionalism.

I went to MedBlue (Dr. Canberk Turan) in late December 2025 and got ~4250 grafts implanted (~3500 FUE in the front, ~750 DHI in the crown). I chose their middle tier package plus I added an extra day before for tourism, so I was there for 5 nights total and did 2 hyperbaric chamber sessions and a PRP + mesotherapy session. Overall I felt very well taken care of - there were only 2 procedures going on in the clinic that day, and I had a translator with me at all times. The doctors themselves performed the bulk of the procedure, which took about 9 hours including the lunch break.

The hotel, clinic staff, and drivers were all very nice, and the communication before and after the procedure was professional. Everything was scheduled with Zulal via WhatsApp, and all it took was a $200 deposit to book the date I wanted. The transportation between hotel, clinic, and hyperbaric chamber site was comfortable, and I felt people were looking out for us the whole way. I also felt that the price was extremely reasonable for the quality of work!

In my opinion, the numbing shots are not as bad as everyone makes them out to be. Like any other shot, any pain lasts about 1-2 seconds per shot. I did have an IV in my arm for the entire procedure though, which was painful at times. After the numbing shots, the procedure is completely painless.

I am extremely happy with my results! I am now 5 months post-procedure, and every day I look in the mirror and feel it has improved and become thicker than the day before. The growth really started to speed up at around the 3.5-4 month mark. This has completely restored confidence in my hair, and everybody has commented on how natural it looks. I'm lucky that I found this place through all of my research on Reddit, seriously I can't recommend them enough - one of the best decisions I've made.

I had my hair transplant at MedBlue Turkey at the end of February. The organization from start to finish was seamless, and the hotel transfers were always on time.

They designed my hairline in a natural-looking way and explained the entire procedure thoroughly.

Although the surgery was long, it went smoothly and I felt barely any discomfort. You can tell the operation team is experienced and works well together. They really did a great job.

From initial contact through aftercare, MedBlue has felt more like a partner in care than a service provider for my hair transplant procedure. All planning, transportation, accommodations, and the days of care went seamlessly. The staff was professional and kind, taking time to explain the process patiently. I never felt rushed or like I was just another person in the queue. Most importantly, the results after six months are amazing! I had a combination FUE and DHI from the wonderful MedBlue Nov 2025. Dr Oguzhan Kurt is the FUE Doctor and you select if you want Dr Turan or Dr Attila for DHI - if required. I chose Turan and the middle-tier package, I booked in August 2025 when it was €3900 for 4 nights at a 5* hotel with breakfast, 2 hyperbaric sessions, x1 prp, stemcell and mesotherapy injections, 2 washes, and 6 months of aftercare supplies. I’m unsure if packages have changed since then

I had such an incredible experience with this clinic and i highly recommend them. Surgically they did a phenomenal job- the hairs are in the direction of my natural hair, they used singles for the hairline, they didnt implant in rows, and the donor site is not overharvested. I drew on paper how i wanted the hairline designed, and they executed it even better than i imagined since i had tried to draw it on myself for months and never could do it right. The first time they drew it I was struggling to explain what i wanted changed so just said that it would be okay, yet they saw that i was uncertain and drew it again anyway despite me saying that and it was perfect the second time 🩵 My anxiousness almost made me settle for a design I wasn’t 100% happy with, yet because of their ability to notice my hesitation even when I didn’t properly express it, they took the time to redraw it and got it perfect. Thats such an important quality for a clinic to have since a lot of other places im certain would have just accepted my ‘okay’ and proceeded and i would be left with major regret

I chose a feminine design, i know most may not like that for themselves but it was my choice, and I’m extremely grateful that the clinic respected my preferences instead of forcing a more conservative approach. If I had gone somewhere else and been pressured into a design that I didn’t want, I would have left feeling so upset I wasted thousands just to be stuck with a result I’d be miserable with

I requested a partial shave, I was so worried that i’d get there on the day and theyd interrogate me on why, try change my mind, or say that they can no longer do it so id be forced to shave it on the spot after flying there. But they stood true to what we agreed on wattsapp no problem, even though it makes it harder on them to operate. Same goes for the hairline, i worried they would not let me go as low as i wanted or judge the design but they happily accommodated it all

Another benefit of Medblue is their package prices since you dont know how much you actually need until they can evaluate on the day. Having a fixed price was amazing especially when you need a lot of grafts like me, i was getting quoted similar prices from other clinics for half of the grafts i had from Medblue and without all of the extra perks, so the value was incredible. But even if i needed less grafts, it’s worth paying extra to secure an amazing clinic and result. Other little benefits were that they let me pay in GBP and also I had an opportunity to talk with Dr Turan and ask some questions whilst waiting for the medical wash, and he also provided me with a note to give to my GP which was very kind of him to take time out to do that

Theres so much i could write about the experience, but these were just the main wins i really wanted to appreciate Medblue for compared to going elsewhere. Most clinics would instantly reject me when i said i wanted partial shave. The only other clinic in this price range that agreed wanted to ignore adding density to the top/crown, whereas Medblue was willing to put hairs there. And anytime I’d see reviews mentioning ‘conservative’ i knew that clinic wasnt right for me, so im really grateful to have found a clinic that was able to work with my special requests (lower hairline + partial shave), for an amazing price with lots included, and with a short waiting time

Overall, this transplant has given me so much happiness and confidence, my hairline is an improvement compared to even before I experienced hair loss. I’m extremely grateful to MedBlue for respecting what i wanted while still delivering natural-looking, high-quality results that i absolutely love

I had the best experience at MedBlue. Before you fly to Turkey, Zulal the surgical coordinator is very helpful answering all your questions. When I arrived in Turkey, the shuttle was prompt and everything went as planned. The facility was clean, and Dr. Turan answered all of my questions before beginning surgery. I am 40 days out and everything looks great so far. I would highly recommend MEDBLUE Turkey to anyone looking to have their hair done!

I had a transplant last week at Medblue. I really can't fault the experience. The hotel was great and taxis were organised for every step of the journey. This was all included for a very good price of £2640.

As for the actual hair transplant, well the whole process was extremely good and professional all the way. I firstly received a detailed consultation with a doctor and discussed what I wanted and what they could do for me. Then the operation began promptly and was smooth, quick and painless. Even the lunch was very tasty.

Particular mention for the chaperone (Zulal) as she was very friendly and translated all the important communication throughout the experience, keeping me updated on the progress of the operation and what to expect.

The experience I had was fantastic. From arriving in Istanbul, to the consultation and operation, I never felt like I was left questioning my decision to go with MedBlue. Dr. Turan and Zulal were fantastic great to communicate with, and I appreciated their experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to any of my buddies or family members.

The experience was great! The team really helped answer my questions beforehand which helped reduce my stress of taking a flight and getting treatment away from home. They did everything they could on their end to make the experience as stress free as they possibly could.

I had an HT operation done by dr. Turan from MedBlue 5 months ago. Was a little bit "sus" about the clinic back then (not much info about them on the internet, only a couple good reviews on reddit). However, before the HT I requested a video consultation with the doctor and to my surprise it was actually scheduled. The online consultation lasted for approx. an hour and the doctor answered all my questions and calmed most of my worries. He was also very straightforward regarding my reluctance to take Finasteride post OP, he made sure to inform me about the natural progression of my balding after the transplant and the need of an additional one in 3-4 years. I did not feel any "pushing" from the doctor to actually undergo the surgery. I also requested before and after photos of some previous works done by the doctor and those were sent over to me as well.

I suggested a very conservative hairline as I am not a fan of the straight ones that some doctors/clinics are crafting (looking at you Now Hair Time - Chris Bumstead :D ) plus I always had a kind of a widows peak even before I started balding. The doctor was OK with my suggestion and even commented on CBUMs transplant as he was aware of it.

I had 3750 grafts transplanted (FUE - hairline done by tech assistants, DHI - frontal region, mid scalp done by the doctor) and I was very pleased with the result after I washed off my scabs two weeks after the operation. Hairline looked natural (EXACTLY as I wanted it) and I feel lucky when I compare my case to a few unfortunate guys with unnatural and too low hairlines. I paid 3200 euros and I consider it a bargain!!! :)

Additional points for the doctor speaking perfect English, the medical assistant being super patient, answering all my questions (believe me I had a lot of them) and being nice and kind all the time.

Great experience from start to finish. I had my transplant done last month in May. Can't complain about anything so far. The translator Zülal made the difference in making me feel comfortable and she always responds to questions I have during night or day. I chose MedBlue with Dr Turan. When researching, I came across 2 testimonials about medblue that stood out to me because of the exceptional results in their 1 year before and after pictures.

On surgery day, the consultation and operation exceeded my expectations. Zülal was with me answering questions until Dr Turan’s consultation. I was awake for most of the operation and was pretty comfortable throughout it.

After the surgery, the medications, oxygen chamber, stem cell, mesotherapy was well explained. I am amazed at how comfortably I slept both the night of the operation and night after the bandages came out.

Finally, the hotel selection was top notch and transportation was both punctual and efficient. I really appreciate the effort in setting up logistics of hotel with breakfast and dining and the coordinating the drives as it lift a lot of work off my shoulders.

For my 2nd hairtransplant i went to Medblue Turkey !After allready having done a 1st HT by a low cost 5 star hairmill (8.5m before) where they provide me a certificate of a 5k extraction and scammed me , i focused on Reddit for my choice of surgeon ! Istarted to find a few post from peope that went there from Novembre untill beginning January and posted their experience . Iwas a NW6 at 38y. I get in touch with over than 13 cinics in Istanbul only whatsapp and no one will do a visio call with me !(same excuses allways : the surgen is not here , he's busy , the surgeon dont do videocals etc etc). When i contacted Dr. Canberk Turan i immediately felt an open minded AND LOGIC Dr that Masters English better than with my previous clinic/translators + performing 1 transplant a day and thats what gived me the desire to continue ! So in our visio call i explained him my requests (adding density+ equalizing the fronline) and also my fear of my donor zone for this 2nd HT especially since i had been over harvested by the previous clinic. The conversation with video passed very well cause he understand my needs and also the errors that clinic did for my 1st HT. I'm skipping the part of the airport pickup + hotel that went just PERFECT! I was the only patient of course that did the surgery that day ( so the transport was only for me alone too). The day of the surgery EVERYTHING went well no issues or concerns at all. The surgeon took 10 a 15 minutes for drawing the hairline , showed it to me if i agree or not , modified it on MY REQUEST and finally insured me that even with my non-virgin donor zone that i don't have to worrie ! The doc could extract another 3.9k graft homogenely and patiently without overharvesting more that donor zone . Of course Dr Turan was present the most of the time in the surgery with his technician . So he and his colleague worked on my implantation and another tech from his team did the extraction befor that (went very well cause i had pics BEFORE/AFTER the extractions and its sincerly amazing how it was extracted) . I was super happy when done cause i allready did a 1st HT and know exactly the importante steps of a HT. Next day i rest in my hotel 5 star Mercury hotel and by night i heared the neighbours that did a lot of noise untill 3 of the morning .I complained to the doc and he immediately contacted the hotel that escort me to a big suit ! Yes a suit with bubblebad etc ...Next day i did my wash at the clinic and like usewell went very good. The clinic gived me my last instructions for aftercare + 6 month aftercare kit and confirmed that we will stay in touch for 12 months.
Also i dont have to forget and thank Ms Zûlal and Mr. Can that were behind my first contact + the client service . They were outstanding comparing the 1st clinic where i went ! I apologize formy poor English and hope this sincerly guided you a bit FAM🙏
