Mercury Auto Transport used a bait-and-switch tactic in my experience. They told me a driver was ready and asked me to sign the paperwork, but refused to provide the driver’s name, phone number, or any actual dispatch details, repeatedly saying the information would arrive “soon.”

The driver details never arrived. When I asked to cancel, they charged a dispatch fee, claiming that a driver had already been dispatched—even though they never provided any proof that a real driver had been assigned.

It felt like a trick to keep me committed so I could not book with another company that actually had a confirmed driver. Be very careful before signing anything or paying a dispatch fee unless they first provide verifiable driver details.

UPDATED: Mercury’s own response confirms that the dispatch paperwork and driver information were still being processed when I cancelled. That is not a completed dispatch, regardless of what button they clicked in their internal system. Another company had already provided me the exact same driver’s details, and Mercury’s screenshot showed only $350 payable to the driver, yet Mercury retained even more than that while providing no transportation service.

This was my second time using Mercury Auto Shipping and Erica Hudson did an amazing job finding a driver. She understood my needs and the time I had to get it done and she met all my expectations. My drivers Vlad was thorough and he delivered my car the next day in the same conditions as when he loaded the car. Thank you both for the great work.

Mercury Transport has coordinated two vehicle shipments for us, both with Brian Wieser who went above and beyond for us with both transports. The communication was excellent, the process was tightly organized, we received the car exactly as agreed, on time, in perfect condition. Cannot be more pleased with this experience and will only refer Mercury and Brian for all of my future transports and further that I need as well.

This is the second time we have used Mercury -- once to Florida, and once back to Michigan. What sets them apart is the constant, excellent and personal communication. We have had cars taken by truck to Florida and back many times. It is a tough, competitive route where low prices and a lot of trucks make it hard to do at a good price and still get any certainty. But both Spencer Thomas (Florida to MI) and Trevor Thomas (MI to FL) were GREAT !!! I'd also like to say a word about the driver from FL back to MI--Victor Sontu from 1MD EXPRESS INC. -- who was excellent for the pickup and delivery -- and delivered through a nasty storm! We will definitely use Mercury next year !!
