After 4 days of having a blocked toilet and the first company I contacted not turning up I got in touch with MPH. From speaking with a lovely receptionist at 9am Joel arrived at 2pm. He was friendly and professional, assessing the job and giving us a quote. Once the quote was accepted he got to work, and we soon found out our seeming straight forward blocked toilet was anything but. He worked hard and tirelessly to get our bathroom back in working order. I would definitely recommend this company as they have been a pleasure to deal with from start to finish.

Absolutely brilliant service, had a completely blocked up foul pipe (fairly far down the line) to the only toilet in the house. Called another national drainage company on Saturday and had an absolute nightmare with them… called these guys on Sunday morning and the engineer (Jamie) was out in two hours and fixed in absolutely no time, great service, clear quote immediately and fixed. Explained the issue clearly to help us avoid in the future and went on his way.

We had a blocked drain so searched for someone local and got these to come out, they say it's a free call out but because he came from Leeds he had to charge £84 call out fee, he looked at the drain and knew straight away that it was the sewer that was blocked, he double checked just to make sure it was, he called Severn Trent on my behalf as it was down to them to clear it as they owned the drains, Colin who came out explained everything to Severn Trent, Severn Trent came out in about an hour to clear it.

Had a suspected drain issue, called MPH on a Sheffield number. They were able to come next day to do CCTV look see. Jamie from Castleford came and did that. He found the blockage, caused by a collapse. He showed us the CCTV and explained the repair needed. He then power washed the drain to clear it but was clear it needed a bigger repair. He left us a quote.
We decided to go ahead, called them and booked in. Jamie came back and did the repair for the agreed price, despite a serious setback which involved having to re dig part of it.
Jamie communicated with us throughout. Even made a lovely job of putting the block paving back.
Not cheap but good work from very hard working and competent people.

Did a great job for us. Efficient, informative and knowledgeable. No pressure to buy add ons. Good price bearing in mind how quickly they responded. We're now confident that our drainage problem has been properly dealt with.

I had mph out to sort out my manhole,which to be quit honest was a death trap young Ryan came out to fix it for me,he even secured my fence for me that these bloody winds blew down. I hope I don't need them again but if I do it will be mph,thank you.

Had George and dave out from mph in the evening who identified my problem very quickly and after quoting me carried out an unblock of my drains, I was particularly impressed at how much care they took in cleaning the overflown waste off my driveway, even when I told them I'd do it myself he still insisted , very happy and grateful ,thanks mph

£245 and counting to unblock a toilet.. if they did more..... i think not ... they come out quickly but then so would if thats what i was collecting .. not for me !

Just had someone round to check one of my drains as was worried the drain might have collapsed as the land was sinking.

Anyway, it cost me £150 just for them to look at it, then the guy started looking at all my other drains which I never asked for him to do, found a partial blockage and tried charging me £300 to clear that.

Absolutely ridiculous. I asked how long that would take and he said less than an hour.

So that's £450 in total for around an hours work.

I've been in contact with other companies since he left and they are willing to clear the partial blockage for £75. That's less than what I've already paid and no work has been done other than looking at the drain.

I contacted MPH on Saturday reporting a blocked drain. They sent out Joel that same day and he arrived during the time they predicted, did an excellent job of diagnosing the issue, giving a clear explanation (including showing me the CCTV in action) of the cause, current state of the drain and what he advised was needed for permanent repair. He was able to quote me and schedule in the work at short notice. I am very grateful for Joel’s obvious dedication to his craft and for generally being honest and helpful. I spoke to the office manager a couple of times ( didn’t get his name) but he was really helpful too. All round I’m very glad I found MPH!

Excellent job done by Jamie using CCTV camera and then cleaning my drains (including removing tree roots and branches from Yorkshire Water's shared drain in my forecourt - wish I'd known it was their responsibility!). He was very pleasant, communicative and knowledgeable, and then provided useful, clear recommendations as to further work.
The fees charged for the 2 hour visit (1h 45 mins + writing up visit report) - were excessive as regards the "cost per 30 mins OR PART THEREOF" to power wash the drains given the initial cost of the CCTV survey, and the fact that at least half the time was spent filling up the water tank with water provided by me ("only 7 mins of pressure per full tank").
However the work and customer service provided by Jamie were excellent.

First rate emergency plumbing service! Cannot fault; a friendly, knowledgeable plumber was on-site in York within a couple of hours after a Saturday afternoon call out to tenants of our flat. Plumber called us after inspection of the problem and the agreed course of action quickly fix the leaking shower so water supply could be turned on again. Very impressed and would certainly call again. No pre-payment for call-out and very reasonable charges.

A professional service with friendly staff but not good value for money. I was quoted for a repair to a soil pipe using a push fit joint and ended up with an unsightly rubber coupling. The part costs about a fiver and the labour was about 45 mins. I was expecting an adjustment on the high price i was quoted and was disappointed when I had to battle to get a paltry £30 off. During the process of installing the new seal, a piece of the soil pipe higher up became detached. They didn't have ladders tall enough to slot the pipe back in and wanted to charge me another £250 to go and fetch the appropriate equipment! Really guys!!! That's taking the ****!
Edit…. After placing this review, the company contacted me promptly and after a bit of negotiating, this matter has now been satisfactorily resolved. Many thanks MPH Drains.

Very impressed with the service provided from start to finish, from my initial enquiry with the office to the guys who completed the work. Honest, knowledgeable, reliable and friendly. I would definitely recommend to friends and family!

Had a blocked drain we couldn't get to at a customers house. We called these guys for help, they came to the house within 24 hours, located the blockage with a camera and then cleared the blockage with a high pressure jet. Super fast, professional and knowledgeable..... Would recommend to anyone.

MPH came to clear a blocked main drain. The company explained the costs in advance which was good. The engineer was very polite and helpful and explained what he was doing. MPH also follow up by phone to check all is well which is a nice touch.
