The worst customer service of all…

The worst customer service of all time!!! Their devices are relatively cheap and the quality is actually not too bad for the price but hope that you NEVER EVER need help or require customer service. It's literally non-existent. I called over 10 times and I could NEVER EVER get someone on the phone or even on the online chat. They have a recording stating that someone will get back to you or they direct you to the website for online support and no one EVER comes to assist. Their customer service bot just keep repeating step you should take but you can NEVER EVER get to chat with a real human being. Don't waste your time with this junk. I went ahead and bough the Hikvision brand and they are 1000 better. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON NIGHTOWL!!!

Worst business ever

Worst customer service. I bought 2 cameras, one is not working what so ever. They said try the batteries from the other camera in that one to see if it's the cameras or the batteries. I said no it's already in use and 20foot up I'm not wasting an hour of my time please send me new batteries for this $85 dollar camera. They said no use the batteries you have. WHAT IF I BOUGHT ONE CAMERA?! Then what would they do. Terrible product, ever worse customers service.

WORST OF THR WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE

You know, the product might be great, but the CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SO BAD. the worst. you can't get a hold of anybody and then for the hopes and dream that you do, they don't even know what to do. its not the customer service reps fault, its the training the company provides. I was on the phone for 2 whole hours since they opened.

The system I bought was brand-new from bestbuy, The DVR was already connected so I had to somehow disconnect this new never used device but somehow magically connected somewhere. and FTD4 don't have a factory reset button and you have to play Dora and travel 50 millions paths just to factory reset. I spent too many (insert cuss word) hours for a supposedly 5 minute fix. fix your customer support.

I am in my 4th month of ownership of…

I am in my 4th month of ownership of wi-fi cameras. Totally, totally, disappointed. We have 4 battery powered cameras & 3 plugged in/wired cameras. More often than not the plugged in cameras (4k resolution) do not pick up motion. Battey cameras (1080k resolution) pick up everything from a leaf blowing to a bug. And their battery life is awful. The software is a "hit-or-miss" chance. Seriously considering throwing them away & moving to something else. After reading the reviews about customer service, won't waste more of my time contacting them about my concers.

I am writing this to warn other parents…

I am writing this to warn other parents about the highly unethical practices of The Night Owl. I made an accidental purchase and reached out immediately to cancel. Not only did they refuse to help, but they responded with a "moral" lecture on why they don't offer refunds. After one week of silence, I received a final email stating: "Our position remains as outlined above and we will not be entering into further correspondence regarding this change-of-mind request." It is deeply concerning that a company in the baby industry—knowing how sleep-deprived and stressed their customers are—would "ghost" a parent over a simple mistake rather than providing a professional resolution.
Most shockingly, this is the first company I have ever encountered that explicitly exercises a "right" to delete reviews on their own website that they deem "misleading." In my opinion, scrubbing anything but 5-star praise creates a completely false representation of their service. While they can control the narrative on their own site, they cannot hide the truth here.
They prioritize "fulfilment schedules" and profit over basic human empathy. Do yourself a favor: steer clear and stick to Baby Bunting. You deserve transparency and a company that doesn't shut the door on you the moment they have your money.

Worst customer support ever removed push notifications forever

Worst customer support ever. This company sold me a set of cameras and promptly disabled the online and live notifications. I have no ability to see anything except the local device. It’s permanent and they don’t care. Now I have to get rid of an otherwise fine system and buy something completely new and start over with a complete reinstall….

Complete Failure of a Company
Night Owl Security is an embarrassment of a company masquerading as a provider of “security” products. From the hardware to the support, this brand is defined by broken promises, incompetence, and outright disrespect for customers.

Their customer service is not just bad—it is borderline deceptive. I was repeatedly assured that someone would call me back. They never did. Not once. Not twice. Multiple promises, zero follow-through. At best, this is gross negligence. At worst, it feels intentionally misleading just to get you off the phone.

The technical support team is shockingly unqualified. The representatives clearly do not understand their own products. Basic functionality had to be explained to them. I received contradictory answers from different “techs,” none of whom seemed remotely trained or capable of solving even elementary issues. Calling it “technical support” is generous—it’s more like trial-and-error by people reading from scripts they don’t comprehend.

If you’re buying a security system for peace of mind, Night Owl delivers the opposite: frustration, wasted time, and a total lack of accountability. When the system fails—and it will—you are completely on your own. The company does not stand behind its products, does not keep its word, and does not respect its customers.

This is not a one-off bad experience. This is a pattern of failure that reflects a company culture that simply does not care once they have your money. There are far too many competent competitors on the market to tolerate this level of incompetence and dishonesty.

Do yourself a favor: do not buy Night Owl products. They are unreliable, poorly supported, and backed by a customer service operation that is fundamentally broken.

Fire causing product

I have a night owl system I just purchased. The DVR box is throwing electrical achs. I've asked for a different dvr. They are standing firm on plugging a electrical box that throws sparks. Stupidity at best. Absolutely do not buy this product. Customer Service is horrible. Equipment will cause fires.

Wack camera system

Wack camera system! A joke! One broke on installation! Had medium amount of issues until I connected to internet! I got color and sharpness but more grief!!! Password issues, recording and playing issues! Should be a lot cheaper for the frustration!

A waste of time and money

A waste of time and money. Total garbage! It might work 1 hour a day max. Cheap trash made in a dumpster. Stay far away from this "company". Better off hiring a bum to watch your house.

Night Owl FTD 4-8 NVR

I purchased the FTD 4-8 a few years back from AAFES. This NVR has eight wired ports for cameras, plus 4 wireless ports that can't be accessed. I installed the 8 wired cameras, and I kept one screen up all the time to display the perimeter. Also, the menu option do not give you an option for 8 cameras, but 9. So a black screen was displayed all the time for camera 9. Recently, I decided to cycle the cameras, and sure enough, the unused wireless ports also appear on the monitor with a black screen, and the message "Not Enrolled". It is such a nuisance to have to cycle thru 4 blank screens. I researched high and low to figure out how to disable the 4 wireless ports, to no avail. I eventually reached out to Night Owl, and was told, these wireless ports cannot be disabled. I guess this way a person would have to purchase 4 wireless cameras to clear these black screens. So keep this in mind when researching this Night Owl product.

Worse customer service all cameras went offline for no resson shows no service and when I called customer service he was super rude from hello you can hear nasty attitude and the. After I explain to him what’s going on he said buy a new one there is nothing we can do

the system takes spells of recording…

the system takes spells of recording and just keeps recording over and over with nothing there, Not the same camera, I thank they take turns. Put up 2 Ring cameras. Have to pay but lots better. Don't Buy.....

Horrible product

Horrible product! Will not connect to the Internet. I will never buy another night owl security system again. I have a farm where I need security and I thought this would be a good product and it’s not. Stay away from it. Very aggravating.

Worst system I have seen

Have the wireless camera's from Nightowl - bluntly they are terrible. Constantly go to sleep even during activity. Record time varies from 1 second to about 10 seconds with the average around 3 seconds and this is regardless of what activity is being captured.
Quality is mixed. Significant delay (10-12 seconds) in what the system shows you compared to what is actually occurring. Connectivity is sporadic and when I contacted the company they said I should have gotten a wired vs wireless system (was not and is not an option) but the associated I spoke to didn't or couldn't seem to understand that.
False alarms are common even when the sensitivity is turned down and if the sensitivity is set too low, then the system will not pick up on events such as people walking in the viewing area.
