I brought a watch in the sale, after 4 days of no shipping notification (even though they charge £9 delivery) I get an email saying it's not in stock and refunded the money.
No offer of a discount code or anything as way of apology.
I pointed out that I'd buy another colour way of the same model if they could give me a small discount which would have still being paying double what this sale price one was.
In my mind this keeps the customer happy and still gets the sale. Instead they just ignored my email.
They clearly have a big issue with stock management as I saw this on several reviews from annoyed would be customers.
To make it worse they never removed the watch that wasn't in stock from the sale or website so other customers would have gone through this same issue.
I worked in e-commerce for another watch brand for years and to see how poorly they handle customers makes me disappointed to see what small attitude changes can do. They built up a following over years and it's sad to bad customer service ruin reputation.
The small discount off would have kept the sale, kept customer (me) happy and lead to repeat purchases. Instead I feel annoyed and how poorly they operate and have brought another watch elsewhere now.
This is something we'd routinely do and it's common practice because it's about keep the customer happy. Everyone knows mistakes happen but what are you going to do to rectify that?! For nixon it's nothing. Customer lifetime value must be declining and judging by the other reviews it is.
Montre très jolie mais le passant en silicone s'est cassé (moins d'un an après l'achat). Impossible d'en commander un car le pièce est indisponible. C'est dommage car elle ne tient pas et je vais finir par la perdre :/ surtout sans l'eau.
L'échange avec le service client téléphonique a été plus constructif que mes nombreux échanges mails précédents.

Having loved and owned Nixon watches for many years I have noticed the watch straps are significantly poorer quality in recent years. Maybe cost cutting exercise, but my recent experience where the strap just disintegrated is not acceptable. Will pivot to a new brand.

Customer service is horrible. Kept my watch for more than a week just to change battery even after I went to their headquarters in Carlsbad ca. They said they can’t do one day battery change. Charged n me $25 for battery and than a shipping charge to my address. Never ever will buy another watch for them or recommend them to anyone.

If I could leave a negative review I would. Purchased the watch 18 months ago and use it daily. No scratches and the case looks perfect with exception of the rubber buttons. They started to crack and rot away a couple of months back. The warranty is two years so I sent it in for repair. They claimed it was excessive use. If you plan on purchasing a tide watch I would look elsewhere. There are junk and the warranty is a sham.
(In reply from Nixon) To be clear as anyone can see from the reply from Nixon yesterday they did not honor the waranty on the watch. This is supposed to be their best surf watch. They acknowledged the buttons did not last and would not honor the warranty repair. Buyer beware of false warranty advertising from Nixon.

A great rugged watch. I have the Regulus watch and am the sort of person who will wear the watch to death in the last 3 years the only time it has been off my wrist is when I have gone through Airport security and have to remove it. Being a metal case the matt black has scratched off so starting ro look a little battered but still working.
I have one gripe though being from Europe our date is day/month/year all Nixon watches are Month/day/year which even after 3 years living with is is still an irritant. Deffinatly a reason not to buy another Nixon watch though

La faiblesse chez Nixon, c'est le bracelet (notamment en cuir) il se détériore relativement vite. Je parle de 3 modèles différents que je possède alors que ceux en métal ne bougent pas dans le temps. Au SAV, côté pièces de rechange, pas vraiment le choix du modèle et je ne vous parle pas de la lenteur d'expédition (inversement proportionnelle à la rapidité d'encaissement du paiement). Très déçue !

Bought myself one as a Christmas present and it isn’t great quality. While I didn’t expect much for the price, I expected better than it is. The band is extremely short and only just closes and feels “tinny”…. I doubt this will get much use and likely will just sit in the box!

Ich sammle seit ein paar Jahren diverse Uhren, die mir so gefallen.
Darunter sind 6 Nixon Modelle.
Für zwei brauchte ich jetzt je ein Armbandglied.
Was soll ich sagen, die Firma Nixon hat mir diese kostenfrei, mit einer ganz tollen Mail und völlig selbstverständlich zur Verfügung gestellt.
Das ist Kundenservice am absolut oberen Ende.
Ich habe mich sehr gefreut und kann die Uhren nun wieder mit Freude tragen.

The hands on The Sentry are hollow, sort of like wire frames, not solid. So it's almost impossible to see them (so to see where they are pointing). In bright daylight or bright artificial light, you have to move your arm/wrist around until the light catches the thin-framed hands. In low light, fine. So think carefully, if you want to tell the time instantly, you won't be able to most of the (bright) time. All but renders the watch useless, or at best very frustrating. Silly design.
A screw fell out after 2 weeks of wearing it.
Notified Nixon and was told they don’t have any replacement screws. My 2 week old watch is now a paperweight and the only thing that got screwed was me!
The best customer service I've had so far.I really cant speak highly enough of how they dealt with me and the issue I had .They went above and beyond to resolve the issue.
Very poor experience. I bought a medium Time Teller with gold coloured strap in July. The watch has a very weak clasp and within 4 weeks it had fallen off twice, once hitting the pavement hard and leaving a scratch on the case and once in a shop where I temporarily lost it (thankfully someone picked it up and I got it back). I complained to customer services and asked for a refund at the end of August. I was offered a choice of a "new and improved clasp" or a refund. I thought I'd try the clasp but then it turned out they hadn't got a clasp in stock which matched my watch and when it arrived it was only half the clasp and didn't fit my watch and looked exactly the same design. I then asked for a refund (this was on 11th September). I didn't get a response until 26th September and was offered a refund or replacement watch. I immediately replied confirming I want a refund but I've yet to have any contact back or receive the refund.
The watch I bought was to replace a faulty Time Teller which lasted 4 years before one of the time markers on the watch face fell off. I replaced the leather strap after 3 years with a Nixon replacement strap which lasted about 1 month before it started coming apart and is now completely split after 9 months.
Interestingly I've tried to review both products but Nixon won't accept my reviews.
So, I think Nixon watches look great and I really wanted to have a Time Teller but they are poor quality and not long lasting and customer services are just downright awful. I eagerly await a refund so I can go and get a different brand of watch which will hopefully be better quality and more durable.
Achtung: Die Armbänder sind von sehr schlechter Qualität und ist bei meiner Nixon-Ripley schon nach einem Jahr gerissen! :-( Dazu ist der Reparatur- und Ersatzteilservice massiv überteuert, Versandkosten müssen sowohl für die Ein- und Rücksendung (20 €) selber bezahlt werden, dies lohnt sich für eine Armbandwechsel von 40 € nicht! Auch die Beratung ist absolut misserabel und kennt sich nicht mal im eigenen Produktsegement aus - also Fingerweg! :-(
