I was given false information which resulted in me getting my hopes up on not having to wear glasses and wasted my time, my wifes time and the Consultants time going for a pre-op appointment. I had no choice but cancel op

Both consults went well but I never got contacted about the full results. After a few weeks, I got back in touch and I got a call a few days later to tell me the Cork surgeon would not take me on and that we were waiting for the responses from the two Dublin doctors. Well I’m still waiting. Last consult was in march this year so 9 months later I’ll assume they said no. It would have been nice to hear back though.

I've been putting off having this procedure done because I was scared but honestly the Optilase team in Belfast did an amazing job from consultation to surgery to follow up appointments that I had nothing to worry about. The team were extremely helpful and professional and very friendly.

Apparently I have better than 20/20 vision now so I shouldn't have waited so long.

I got 3 consultation so far, the staff was so helpful and polite. They advised me as best they can, very detailed information! I hope I will get pass my test and have my operation soon in 2026!

The consultation was impeccable from start to finish. It was so professional & I felt so comfortable & looked after. Unfortunately I am not a candidate for laser eye surgery & when I was told this I actually felt empathy from the staff as I was very disappointed

I had a great experience and excellent service by all the staff from my first consultation, surgery and the aftercare service. I went from wearing glasses 24/7 to 20/20 vision. It has changed my quality of life.

Would not recommend Optilase . Avoid at all cost . Clinic in Dublin very unprofessional . Paid for treatment and at last minute asked for more money to change procedure. Absolutely no complaints department . Numerous emails Optilase never followed up to address complaints . 0 out of 10 rating

The appointment was on time, staff were friendly and professional, explained everything and nothing was too much trouble

Customer service was a complete disaster. I made an appointment by phoning Optilase and turned up for appointment but was told no appointment was made. Phoned them again and made an appointment only to get a call close to my appointment date to check if I had cancelled it! Went for my appointment and another appointment was made to have drops put in at this appointment.
Arrived for this appointment and was told that the appointment which was made was for 15mins but should have been an hour and half appointment so they couldn't see me as they had back to back appointment.
Another appointment was made which I turned up for it but this time no one about. Spoke to reception in the building and she said that staff had went home as they said they had no appointments. She also said I was the 3rd person to arrive for an appointment.
Phoned Optilase to see what was happening and was told someone would ring me back. Didn't get a call back so rang in 2 days time and again was told someone would ring me back. That was January and I'm still awaiting the call.

After almost a year of going back and forth should I should I not get laser eye surgery I bit the bullet and got it done. Part of why I didn’t want to get it done was the anxiety I had around it and thought of the „pain” during it. Needless to say it was the most painless procedure to date, with just a little anxiety. From the start to finish between clinic visits and phonecalls, everyone was so easy to reach, everything was easily solved and beyond helpful. Special thank you to Colette in Galway clinic who was an absolute angel throughout the before and after appointments with her kindness and pleasant personality and Cork clinic staff for keeping me calm and laughing before the procedure ans for reassurance. I can now do things I love such as swimming and running without the nuisance of wearing glasses. My father was blown away by the quick results ( 5 hours post procedure my pain went away) , and has decided to get the procedure himself in the next year. It’s the best medical decision I’ve made for myself so far and thanks to the monthly payments this has become possible for me.

I was nervous getting the procedure done. As soon as I spoke with the surgeon I started to relax. I felt all the staff there were very knowledgeable and friendly. I felt safe throughout the whole process and it’s the best decision I ever made.

I had an appointment recently with an excellent young ophthalmologist, who truly impressed me with both skill and kindness. From the moment I walked in, she put me completely at ease, took the time to explain every step of the extensive examination in clear, reassuring detail, making sure I understood what was being checked and why.

What stood out most was the calm confidence with which she reassured me that my eyesight was healthy and not in need of treatment. That combination of professionalism, thoroughness, and genuine care made the whole experience outstanding. I left feeling informed, reassured, and very grateful. Highly recommended!
