As a founder managing enterprise server deployments, predictability and trust in a vendor are paramount when making long-term architectural decisions. Unfortunately, OVHcloud has demonstrated that their written assurances mean absolutely nothing when they decide to quietly change their internal policies.
Earlier this year, we were evaluating our active dedicated server deployments and needed to consolidate our infrastructure. In January 2026, we reached out to OVHcloud support and received explicit, written confirmation that we could cancel a specific 24-month server contract and transfer the remaining end-of-commitment invoice to another active server on our account.
We made strategic infrastructure and financial planning decisions based entirely on this exact written assurance from their team.
Months later, when attempting to execute this promised solution, OVHcloud completely reversed its stance. Support informed us that because the company recently stopped offering commitment contracts on their website, they would no longer honor the solution we were previously guaranteed.
To make matters worse, support attempted to rewrite history, claiming this exception was only ever allowed when purchasing a brand new server, directly contradicting the previous representative who explicitly authorized the transfer to an existing, active server.
A reputable infrastructure provider does not apply new, forward-facing policy changes retroactively to invalidate past written promises made to existing clients.
You cannot rely on OVHcloud support for infrastructure planning. What they guarantee in writing today may be revoked tomorrow due to unannounced internal system changes.
Instead of escalating the discrepancy to management to honor their own team's written commitment, support simply stonewalls and forces you to ride out the remainder of the contract.
If you are running a serious tech startup or require enterprise-grade reliability, not just in hardware, but in vendor relations, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. OVHcloud operates with a rigid, automated bureaucracy that prioritizes its internal billing systems over honoring its word.

They were kind, understanding, and very easy to communicate with throughout the whole process. It’s always reassuring to feel heard and treated with respect as a customer, and that’s exactly how I felt here.

Délai de livraison VPS - précommande dans la région BHS. À l'achat, le délai de livraison était "sous 7 jours". La commande a été passée il y a maintenant 12 jours… et j'attends toujours mon VPS. Prenez garde aux délais.

I placed an order for VPS-1. It told me that it was a pre-order, and that it "will be delivered within 7 days" (quote). Fast forward to today, it has been 8 days, the server has not been delivered. When I submitted a support ticket during the waiting time just to see if I could get a status, support simply told me that it could take up to 30 days (???) and that I should cancel my order. This is the only support I've been provided. I've ordered from OVH before but never had such terrible service. I don't know if I've been scammed or not.
Edit: Once again contacted support. They copy-pasted their previous response saying that it can take 30 days, and to cancel my order. Absolutely disgusting support.

I’ve been using OVH since early 2025, renting a dedicated server for $64/month. At the beginning of this year, my server suddenly became inaccessible. I reported the issue immediately, and their response was to replace both hard drives and then casually tell me the job was “done”.
Seriously? A server that’s barely a year old, configured with RAID for data safety, and somehow both drives fail at the same time? As a result, all of my data is gone — permanently — with absolutely no way to recover it.
What’s even worse: no proper report, no clear explanation, no apology, and absolutely no accountability or solution from their side.
Now I’m left with an empty, useless server — and of course, they’re still happily charging me every month as if nothing ever happened :)

The service itself is reliable, but their support is another story entirely.
OVHcloud made a written commitment to renew my VPS servers at the legacy rate weeks before the April 1st (2026) price increase. When I asked how to renew multiple servers, their instructions were incorrect. I attempted to do so myself many times, but their system was already charging the future price before the increase was even in effect!!
Forced to reach out via live chat on the last day due to no replies to my support tickets, their only response was a single payment link for one server at the future rate for a longer term with no discount. They blamed their own system while acknowledging their original promise was real. They finally replied to my support request after charging my card for the updated price.. on April 1st, to say 'it's too late now.' Duh!
This is not an isolated incident.
Their support articles frequently do not match their actual system. Links often point to wrong regional subdomains. Billing inquiries are treated as low priority and while problems are acknowledged, nothing is done to correct them. You won't get actual support unless you pay them a lot of additional money. You need to have advanced skills to host with OVH because they will not help you.
Even here, OVH replied and I provided my account information, and nothing was done.
OVH could easily be in the top three hosts of the world but their respect towards customers stinks. As you read other reviews, consider that at the time that I wrote this review, nearly half of their 6600 reviews are critical of their practices.
Edit: May 1, 2026. OVH reached out to me and made things right. Changed 2 stars to 3 stars.

They have been having on going issues with not being able to see the prices of servers before purchasing a server. Resulting in purchasing the server in the wrong location. They cancelled that server and refused to refund it after it had only been used for less than a minute. Then refused to respond to any support ticket on the issue

Support handled my request efficiently. They deleted my old VPS and correctly transferred the remaining prepaid period to my new server without any issues. Communication was clear and the process was smooth.
I’m giving 4 stars as the response time was quite slow, but overall the issue was resolved properly.
I ordered a KS-5 dedicated server and it was delivered in minutes. The control panel is clean and easy to use. Good value for the price with solid hardware. Recommended for developers who need reliable infrastructure at an affordable cost.

POV: You hire an #antifraud specialist for your business. They then ask your customers to send you images of their credit cards over the internet.
Would you be even slightly concerned about your decision to hire them?
OVHcloud aren't.
The irony isn't lost with them, when you employ an #antifraud team who ask people to put their personal data at risk.
This is one seriously deluded company:
This was the information they wanted from me (directly quoted from the email received):
A government-issued photo ID,
A picture of the credit card used in the transaction including, the name matching the listed name in the Manager account, AND
The last 4 digits of the card number,
A photo of yourself holding the government-issued Photo ID provided above.

Did they not get the memo that this is 2026 &there are services that deal with verification. Even if I were stupid enough to send an image of my credit card, it's a virtual one - which they should realise that virtual cards now exist - because its 2026, not 1956.
What planet are these people living on? Because it's certainly not this one...
The response to this review is a lie. The information they wanted - stated above - is directly taken from the email I received. They wanted me to send an image of my credit card to them.
If you want to sue me for defamation though - go ahead. Sue me. I’ll wait.
Update
Still no defamation lawsuit. Guess I was telling the truth after all then….
