We are here, albeit in a reduced capacity during these difficult times. Established over 70 years, 5 generations of the Owen Barry family have been involved in the tanning and producing of beautiful leather, cowhide and sheepskin products here in Somerset. Please be assured all orders are still being despatched very promptly, at Owen Barry our raison d'être has always been to help our clients find the best quality and value for money whilst guaranteeing them service and eco surety; and even during these unprecedented times, that is still our primary goal. We have a very small skeleton staff fulfilling orders and helping customers, so please don't hesitate to telephone, email and ideally carry on purchasing from us - we would sincerely appreciate your support, perhaps even more so at the moment! Owen Barry staff are the heart and soul of our British manufacturing business, most have the team have been with us "forever" and we want it to stay that way, therefore we are obviously doing everything we can to keep them safe. Presently many of the OB team have been furloughed, leaving just a few of us finishing and despatching orders, but please don't let that stop you, we are thoroughly enjoying the challenge, especially the customer service and interaction, remotely of course! Still handcrafting everything in our own factory based in the West of England, we use skills and knowledge that have been handed down from craftsman to another. Owen Barry is now headed up by mother and daughter duo of Cindi and Chas, whilst we no longer tan skins here at the Tanyard, we still invest a great deal of time, passion and inherent knowledge resourcing from the worlds finest tanneries to ensure,the quality and the environmental provenance of all the skins we use. By doing this we can ensure everything we make comes from a bi product of the food industry, this together with locally or European sourced trimmings, sundries and supplies means we are keeping our environmental footprint to a minimum whilst all the time cutting back on wastage and single use plastics. Fantastic Product and Service
Owen Barry have been amazing. I bought a sheepskin water bottle for my partner for Xmas (2025). The quality is excellent. We recently noticed a defect in the inner water bottle (external supplier), and reached out to Owen Barry directly. Cindi responded the morning after and was kind enough to send another inner, despite being well out of return policy–something she didn't have to do, but was a lovely gesture. Definitely recommend these guys, both from a product and service perspective. Looking forward to shopping with them again soon!!

Msheepskin rugy experience with this company who I…
My experience with this company who I had not shopped with before was excellent. They delivered a fast and efficient service and the rug I bought from them was a quality product. The question I telephoned them with after receiving the rug was answered in a way that was easy to understand and I was not made to feel I was being a nuisance. I enjoyed every minute of my shopping experience with them. I will certainly use them again and would definitely recommend them to other people.

Great product
As always, a great product from OB, this time in the form of a pet rug. It's soft, a really good size - our cat nearly didn't get it. It's draped over the back of a sofa as that's one of his favourite spots and he loves it. The team at OB are super, very friendly and helpful and the rug arrived quickly and well packaged.

Best quality and excellent customer service
We had searched shops and websites for proper, quality hot water bottles that we could trust to be safe and hardwearing - and which were made in Europe. This was not any easy task as the majority of water bottles these days are produced in East Asian countries.
We eventually discovered the Owen Barry website where we found the Fashy water bottle produced in Germany. The ordering process was straightforward and packaging and delivery were excellent. We have used the hot water bottles and they provide heat and comfort on cold nights.
The receipt contained a handwritten, personalised thank you note which was much appreciated in these days of impersonal sales transactions.

Cost entirely to much to return.
Nice bag but it wasn't big enough for me,
When I try to return it, I was trying to get a return label. I was told to write the address on the front of the package and my order number on something to put inside of the package and send it back, when I get to the store to return it, it was going to cost $180, that half of what I pay for it, ABSOLUTELY NOT. If I knew it cost that much to return, i would have never order it.

Excellent as always. OB items are always good quality (I’ve ordered throws and a draught excluder before, this time it was a cushion) and clear communication through order/dispatch. Prices also very fair for the quality.
