Ungrateful

Went to my local store to day in cornwall to donate a few boxes of good quality books two ladies were incredibly rude and huffed at me when I asked if they would like them! Were incredibly ungrateful so I left & have taken them elsewhere. It wasn’t a problem if they had too many but more their attitude.

Landline number really?

The telephone number seems to have to be a landline. My mobile number wouldn't work. I can count the number of people in my phone who have a landline on the fngers of one hand

I’m absolutely outraged

I’m absolutely outraged, the prices are ridiculous. The poor can’t afford to shop At oxfam and the working class would rather look elsewhere for lower prices and better quality.
You need to sort your prices out, as so do many other charities.
I don’t believe you should be allowed to charge such extortionate prices for second hand clothing. That clearly won’t last as long as purchasing something new. You’re taking advantage of your position! Also Zara produced are always tatty and overpriced and anything that’s got a recognisable name or designer name is way overpriced! It’s just Not acceptable. You are a charity for the public for the people as well as a charity for giving to others in need too. Stop exploiting the poor!!!!

Items are priced by our fantastic shop teams who are provided with guidance. We use resources that help identify different brands and suggested price ranges and we also take into consideration the condition of an item. We also research items on similar online marketplaces to help ensure consistency. Repeated attempts to volunteer in the…

Repeated attempts to volunteer in the Helmsley (N Yorks) shop who badly need help but they are not allowed! Instead there is a tortuous online process with HQ that after a month has yielded nothing. Not even the demanded referee has been contacted. Their apologetic emails are 'no reply' and the chat function is unattended. So we'll go to the other charity shops who are allowed to make such simple decisions themselves...

super-disappointed

I am super-disappointed at how little Oxfam have raised from the clothes that I donated. They belonged to my partner and were in excellent condition - three bin bags full, with 12-20 tailored shirts. It feels like they don't know how to get the best value from what they're given. I won't be using them again.

Oxfam Fulham Road

Oxfam Fulham - Every time I go in here it’s the same old story. Followed by management even though I buy (or used to) loads of things from this shop, but what irony today, still the usual surveillance as I wandered around. I almost bought an Adidas gilet at £17.00 but got so annoyed I put it back, but fear not someone else got it… they didn’t actually pay for it, instead they just slipped it on and then casually left the shop without paying. I ALMOST said something but thought why should I given the grief I get? Anywho. Check your CCTV for today around 3pm by the changing rooms. Female red curly hair. Didn’t look like a shoplifter (unlike myself clearly).

Sent out a completely different CD after overcharging

Ordered a CD from their online shop, was charged £3.99 for shipping and had to wait almost 2 weeks for it to just arrive (I'm in GB by the way.) Once it got here I found out that the case was dirty and half broken with a completely random CD Disc inside that did not match the CD that i paid almost £8 for. Not even by the same band. I am outraged, I dont even know how they are allowing things like this to be sent out, what a complete waste of my money. Will not be purchasing again.

Update on review I left earlier regarding Oxfam online
shop, have just noticed payment taken on Sunday the
Day item was ordered at Oxfam online shop.
But still no sign of goods, that were supposedly
posted Tuesday, instead of Monday, as box could not
be found to put item in, so why was payment taken
when goods had not been sent and now seem lost.
Please avoid, especially as payments taken before goods dispatched, will try for refund but don’t hold
out much hope. Call handler unhelpful, hope this helps
other would be shoppers.

The books are so expensive

The books are so expensive. Even going also far as to copy waterstones with little hand written descriptions to describe the book, only as much as that seems passionate about books. I fear it's a ploy to charge more.. Please lower the costs on books, so people that don't have much money, can grab a book at a decent fair price... Remember, Charity?

Volunteering at festivals 10/10 :)

I have volunteered with Oxfam at festivals for 5 years, including a year when I was going through treatment for breast cancer. The ethos of Oxfam, to help and support, has shone through in every way...from first contact, applications, 'reasonable adjustments', safety, safeguarding and general welfare for all the volunteers, through to what we do to represent Oxfam and support festival goers, staff and crew. The friendliest most caring group of individuals I have ever been lucky enough to work with. I feel proud to be part of the Oxfamily.
One last thing, they have the best people on the phones ever! Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable - perfect :)

I was so very saddened by this branch of Oxfam…

I was so very saddened that a shop that is there out of love, understanding and charity should have been so unkind to me on the 11th April - I had bought almost £20 of chocolate from them a couple of days before to give people for easter- it had been impossible to find it in supermarkets so I was thrilled to find it in the Oxfam shop in Richmond. However, we discovered that certain batches of the Tony's Chocolonely Dark Almond and Sea Salt had been recalled due to stones and metals having been found in some. I spoke with a very nice man at the shop on the phone, who totally understood that I did not want ANY of the chocolate, just in case there were further contaminated batches and he said to bring it all back and get a refund and that he would write a note for the staff in case he wasn't there. I thanked him and said I would donate half of what I'd paid as they were a charity. I have just come back after a horrible time trying to explain this to the manager and her assistant, who seemed simply not to be able to grasp the situation, the assistant getting furiously angry and loud as I said I didn't 'need' to 'check the numbers of the batches' which she wanted me to, as I didnt' want ANY of the chocolate. There was adding up on the till and all sorts of goings on, and women coming up to us patronisingly telling us to 'love one another'. Finally, having given them back the chocolate as intended, because of all the confusion of them doing all this strange adding up for no apparent reason, I gave up and left, leaving the chocolate and coming away with a quarter of what I'd spent. I don't mind about the donation, but am very hurt that they simply didn't try to understand the situation. I shall never go to that branch of Oxfam again. (My good friend, who had recommended I might find this particular chocolate in Oxfam, it not being on any supermarket shelves, called me yesterday to tell me that this branch of Oxfam had NOT replaced my returned chocolate to their shelve… I think this was wise, but why couldn’t we have conversed in an understanding and civilised way to achieve this outcome whilst I was with them?)
