I was so very saddened by this branch of Oxfam…
I was so very saddened that a shop that is there out of love, understanding and charity should have been so unkind to me on the 11th April - I had bought almost £20 of chocolate from them a couple of days before to give people for easter- it had been impossible to find it in supermarkets so I was thrilled to find it in the Oxfam shop in Richmond. However, we discovered that certain batches of the Tony's Chocolonely Dark Almond and Sea Salt had been recalled due to stones and metals having been found in some. I spoke with a very nice man at the shop on the phone, who totally understood that I did not want ANY of the chocolate, just in case there were further contaminated batches and he said to bring it all back and get a refund and that he would write a note for the staff in case he wasn't there. I thanked him and said I would donate half of what I'd paid as they were a charity. I have just come back after a horrible time trying to explain this to the manager and her assistant, who seemed simply not to be able to grasp the situation, the assistant getting furiously angry and loud as I said I didn't 'need' to 'check the numbers of the batches' which she wanted me to, as I didnt' want ANY of the chocolate. There was adding up on the till and all sorts of goings on, and women coming up to us patronisingly telling us to 'love one another'. Finally, having given them back the chocolate as intended, because of all the confusion of them doing all this strange adding up for no apparent reason, I gave up and left, leaving the chocolate and coming away with a quarter of what I'd spent. I don't mind about the donation, but am very hurt that they simply didn't try to understand the situation. I shall never go to that branch of Oxfam again. (My good friend, who had recommended I might find this particular chocolate in Oxfam, it not being on any supermarket shelves, called me yesterday to tell me that this branch of Oxfam had NOT replaced my returned chocolate to their shelve… I think this was wise, but why couldn’t we have conversed in an understanding and civilised way to achieve this outcome whilst I was with them?)

I got myself and my daughters some steals for Christmas and thanks to oxfam it was CHEAP and also cheerful!
My last purchase was a absolute steal, I got myself a (close to) new swimming costume. Was warned about the brown stain in the underwear but nothing my teeth and a bit of daz didn’t sort out. Thanks to all the staff

Yet another week has gone by after being totally ignored. Does anyone at Oxfam actually read? To make this very clear. I work 6 days a week, including Saturdays. You made a huge error in customer service following a trip to a local store to process a simple return, I was given a weak apology and am now being given the run around by head office because you can’t give me a refund electronically which, unfortunately is total rubbish (I’ve read your other comments where this has taken place). I’m also not prepared to take more time to go to a post office to return the item - why should I put myself out further? The correct response would be “Sorry Mr Harris - please provide your details so we can refund your transaction and donate the jacket to a charity shop of your choosing at YOUR convenience” - simple. I’m more than happy to continue posting poor reviews as this is now a matter of principle rather than customer service. You should be ashamed.

Poor customer experience
Hostile over email over a simple mistake, had to do a claim via paypal to have my money returned as they wouldn't answer. Then when they did they became defensive and rude.

Bad experience at Oxfam Bookshop
Went into Oxfam Books in Brigg. Said all fiction books were buy one get one free. Found two books, went to pay, only to be told Science Fiction is NOT in the deal, only fiction. ????? It says all fiction, not sure when Science Fiction stopped being part of the fiction genre??? If its only certain books you need to be more specific. What about Fantasy, Crime, Horror, where do these figure in the buy one get one free?
Other issue is trying to escape being pounced on by two staff members outside shop wanting you to sign a monthly direct debit to donate to Oxfam.
Books are also highly overpriced in the Brigg shop, a paperback they had secondhand for £5.99 was only £2.99 new elsewhere.
You need to look into basic business practice.

I had a oxfam associate knock my home address front door today. I answered the door the caller on behalf of oxfam was very rude . I said I was sorry that I could not talk I am home unwell . He replied you.look all right to me ! My dog who is just a small dog barked he said is it your guard dog !
Then he said if you step outside you actually might get a sun tan !! Really is this oxfam guy for real!! I found him very rude . If this is the kind of people collecting for you !! You will never get people to give !! To your charity

Good Service
I found the donation process at Oxfam was relatively easy. This year I donated to the "Christmas Appeal for Peace Donation" fund. I found Ken at Supporter Relations was very efficient at resolving my query.
I also found that Oxfam had a good range of Christmas items this year in their stores.

It was a bargin great price and is in great condition as it has arrived today. It took a bit, or better it took them 2 days to send away the parcel. Altogether 8 days. Maybe I am spoiled, I have a parcel from Germany in 5days. So it could be a bit quicker. But we'll I got it now. Overall had a good experience to shop at Oxfarm.
