Secure parking...in a side street and hidden damage.
In short - my car was driven at speed to and parked in a Muti-stoery car park by we deal meet and greet, who contracted Parking Time UK. A day or so later it was removed from there and parked in a side street. When the driver moving it realised he was being videoed, he broke the dash cam off from behind the rear view mirror. I asked for my money back and a replacement camera. We deal meet and greet said it was nothing to do with them and I should contact Parking Time UK who they contracted the parking out to. They also don't want to know and say it's not their responsibility. I'm now building a case to go through the legal system as they will not communicate with me even though I've told them I have video evidence of everything.
Full version: My wife chose meet and greet for parking at London Heathrow in the summer. I didn't really want anyone else driving my car, gut feeling said this was a bad idea, but I found out quite late and didn't have time to try and get my money back and find a alternative.
We dropped the car off. I kept a GPS log on my phone of its movements. We flew out and on landing I checked the car's location. It was parked a few miles away from the airport in a multi-storey car park having been moved early the next morning. I didn't check again for a few days but then the signal wasn't great and I put my concern down to paranoia.
On return I checked the car over, the guy looked a bit sheepish. Possibly my paranoia? I drove home, all seemed well, then I checked my dash cam to find the bracket broken. I found video of my car being driven at speed through the Heathrow area to the car park and squeezed into a space for a much smaller car.
The next day, my fairly well concealed dash cam then recorded my car being moved to a side street, where it stayed for the duration of the holiday and until delivery back to Heathrow, although it was now not recording. But whilst being moved to the side street, the lone driver, on his phone then decided to check what he thought was a camera. When he realised it was running and recording everything he did and said, he pulled it off the windscreen (all on video) and broke the mount.
I contacted We Deal Meet and Greet, who said it was nothing to do with them (Mr. Zsolt) and I should contact Parking Time UK. Neither wanted to know. Trading Standards were fairly unhelpful, so exposing the truth and holding them to account legally seems to be the only way to keep these unscrupulous people from ripping off anyone else.
