As a keen cyclist, I have consistently rejected the idea of an electric bike but as I grow older and the hills get steeper, I have been forced to reconsider my position!
After a great deal of research, I settled on Pedibal, and specifically the Navigata II, as they combined good customer service with a good product, or so the reviews told me.
I was not disappointed, delivery was rapid, on the day and in the time window promised. The bikes ( I bought two) arrived in unmarked condition and, after a thorough check over, required no tightening of nuts, or adjustment; they were good to go!
After around 150 test miles, I have demolished long 10-12% gradients with ease and managed a ride of 25miles without exhausting the battery. At over 6 feet and around 80 kilos, the bike propels me around with ease.
In summary, the quality of the bike, at this price point, is exceptional, made with good quality components, assembled to a high standard and they are legal to use on our roads, which is becoming increasingly important . Both my wife and I are delighted with our new toys and just can't stop grinning!

My experience with the Pedibal Navigata MKII

I bought my first Pedibal Navigata MKII about a year and a half ago, and I absolutely loved it. It offered fantastic value for money, felt quick, responsive, and was genuinely fun to ride. For me, it was the perfect balance of price, quality, and performance.

Unfortunately, about a year later I was involved in an accident when an elderly driver hit me at a junction while turning. The bike was written off, and my insurance paid out the claim. Naturally, I was excited to buy exactly the same model again.

Sadly, the new bike was nothing like my original one.

From the very first ride I noticed that the bike felt much slower and far less responsive. Instead of the lively, effortless ride I remembered, it felt as though I was constantly pulling a heavy weight behind me. Even riding downhill, that sluggish feeling never really disappeared.

When I contacted the shop, they explained that the newer models have much stricter speed restrictions, which has significantly changed the riding experience. Unfortunately, I only found this out after purchasing the bike.

I even travelled back to the store and spent almost half a day there while the staff tried everything they could to improve the bike’s performance. Despite all that time and effort, they simply couldn’t make it perform like my previous bike or solve the problem. I genuinely appreciate how hard they tried, and they even offered to take the bike back. I have absolutely no complaints about the staff—they were professional, honest, and did everything they could. Unfortunately, the limitations of the bike itself meant there was nothing they could do.

In the end, I decided to keep the bike because my wife enjoys relaxed rides through parks and forest trails. However, even she recently asked whether there was any way to make it just a little faster. That confirmed to me that the bike really is significantly slower than the older version.

My advice is simple: if you owned a Pedibal Navigata MKII more than a year ago and are thinking about buying the latest version, make sure you test ride it first. It may feel completely different from the bike you remember, and you could be very disappointed.

For new buyers, I would only recommend this bike if you enjoy slow, relaxed riding and are not concerned about performance. Also, don’t expect to be able to adjust or unlock the speed settings. They are heavily restricted. No matter how hard you try, you simply won’t be able to exceed the factory speed limit. Even if you were a world champion cyclist, the bike’s electronic speed limiter would still prevent you from going any faster under motor assistance.

The only thing that truly disappointed me about the company was that I wasn’t informed about these major changes before I bought the bike. Had I known that the new version had much stricter speed limitations and a completely different riding experience, I would have taken a test ride first or considered a different model. Finding out only after the purchase was very disappointing.

I want to finish by saying that the company and its employees deserve praise. The staff were honest, polite, and genuinely tried to help me, even though they were unable to resolve the issue. My disappointment is not with them, but with the fact that such significant changes to the bike were not clearly communicated before the sale. In my opinion, the latest version has lost the performance that made the original Pedibal Navigata MKII such an enjoyable bike to ride.

This is what all customer service should aspire to. A fantastic experience from start to finish. All of my pre-purchase emailed queries were answered within hours, either by reply email or by a direct phone call to me. Delivery was within 48 hours of ordering and the bike was extremely well packaged to ensure no damage en-route. The bike (a Navigata Mk II) itself is a quality product which has more than lived up to expectations. I needed the longer seat post, which was not in stock at the time of purchase, so Mark fulfilled the order with a standard post and sent me the extended one as soon as it came back into stock. Thanks to all at Pedibal.

It was a great experience from start to finish Pedibal/Mark was extremely helpful and my bike was delivered on time with no problem. I have now had it three weeks and so pleased with it. It's a high quality product and does exactly what they said thank you Pedibal!!!!

Easy to converse with, answered all of my queries, and backed it up by carrying out my order straight away.

After a few issues with my Maxima which Mark and his team sorted for me I can say that after care customer service is excellent and goes beyond expectations. Thank you Pedibal.

Quick delivery and very fast and friendly communication when asking about the delivery

So refreshing to speak directly to the business/ owner. Took the time to answer all my questions and never pushed the sale on me. We spoke several times before I placed the order and when I did, I sent the order twice. Mark had it all sorted in the time the bikes took to be delivered….2 days.

Mark was incredibly helpful.
I had a couple of issues (primarily around my knee given I had operations on it years ago) and the height of the pedal on the Navigata Mk11 given those issues
In the end and after discussions with Mark I got the seat to the right height for me and swapped out the crank set for a shorter one.
It took a while and Mark was very patient with me and the process to solve the problem so that I was happy,

Overall from purchase through delivery to the end product of a satisfied customer an excellent experience.

Had my navigata cite over 2 years brings a smile to my face every time I use it. Only ever had 2 small issues and the 2nd was entirely my own fault. 1st time, a part was needed, it was sent ( under warranty) immediately. Today's problem was i managed to disable the motor by pressing the wrong buttons on the display. 1 phone call and an immediate return email with instructions put things right.
This is without doubt the best company I have had the pleasure of dealing with for many years. It's like phoning a mate. No complicated phone menu's. No call centre and absolutely NO BULL S**T! Just fantastic customer service. NOTE ( other than being a customer, I have no connection with the company)

Really happy with both delivery and support

Website was clear and easy to use. Instructions were clear on how to adjust bike.
Easy to fold up and fit into the boot of my car which makes it very portable.

So I cancelled my Chinese import after complete radio silence and frankly poor customer service. At least the refund arrived quicker than the bike.Spoke to Pedible and what a difference. ordered and received my(mad) Maxima in no time at all. First ride today only 5 miles to get used to it and riding again. First impressions: the bike is total quality, parts, build everything you touch is solid, Comfort, on another level absolutely amazing, great easy rider driving position. On a completely different planet , not just a different level is the throttle, just amazing and so easy. Need a boost to get started, pulling away, up hills just wow. But, it is a lump and a half. Luckily I will only be cruising, nimble it is not. You do have to pre plan where you are going , but I quite like that reassurance anyway. I will definitely be fitting armour and flat out because it will be a mission and a half to sort out a puncture on the trails. Finally, ghost pedalling, that is something I need to get used to and manage with the gear change but that will come as I get back into the swing of thing. But a big thank you to Pedible and a 9/10 so far....
