Repeated spam
Despite having removed and blocked them from my email address and 'unsubscribed' they are now spamming me from a different email address they are using. I have emailed and even called them to remove me, yet they still persist in emailing me products that are not even relevant to me and don't even have my right name. Now reported to the ombudsman.

Great experience all round from start…
Great experience all round from start to finish.
Thankful I had this policy in place as had to liquidate a business last year for which I had some personal guarantees for business creditors which were called in resulting in having to make a claim on the PG policy. Support and service provided by Purbeck was excellent throughout the whole process and Nick, Todd, Keir, Emily and the rest of the team have been brilliant. Massive weight taken off my shoulders and can’t recommend enough.

Read the very ambiguously worded small print.
Make sure you read the policy wording *very* carefully before signing up for anything from Purbeck.
Paid £000s in premium over a few months only to have them not pay a penny out because we couldn't use their own administrators and as such "invalidated the entire policy". This was due to our secured creditor being able to appoint their own, which is absolutely standard practice and something Purbeck would've known with the type of debt facility we were using.
Note that the "panel" of administrators referred to in the policy document is a "panel" of one - Opus LLP.
Purbeck also refused to honour the payment of any legal fees but instead offered to 'introduce you to their lawyers', presumably so they could get another referral fee / commission as with their preferred administrators. This is AFT Assist, who are 'specialists in business debt reduction agreements'.
Based on what I've now come to understand from other reviews and our recent experience, what you're going to be sold is definitely not what you're going to get if you get into the unfortunate position of having to make a claim on this policy.
You'd do better to put the premium equivalent in a savings account and using it for your own legal representation if the need arises.

Whilst it is not appropriate for us to comment or discuss specific matters relating to your policy, we feel you have made a number of casting aspersions and we therefore feel it is appropriate to comment on the mechanism of the policy in general terms to allay your assumptions.
As part of the application process, an insured is required to provide a statement of fact with regard to the solvency, the financial and trading status of the business. We use our own third-party data sources to assess risk and underwriters rely on this together with the representations made and to offer insurance cover, if appropriate. There is duty of fair presentation under the Insurance Act for all insureds to present the information fairly, accurately and to the best of their knowledge and any breaches of this are dealt with in accordance with the remedies as outlined within this statute. Where there is a notification that is made in reasonable proximity to the commencement of the period of insurance, we work with the insured to understand the materiality of this.
The policy works on a proactive basis in that all insured have access to our Support Desk which comprises of in-house advisors and a number of selected third-party professional advisers where it is deemed that external support is required. When accepting a client for insurance cover, we have a vested interest to help the business work through financial difficulties by offering advice and/or to put in place restructuring programmes where appropriate. This relies on the insured notifying appropriately and also to ensure that the client has represented the risk fairly.
In the instances where we refer clients to external advisors, these advisors have been carefully selected and we do not receive any referral fees from third parties. As the policy works on a co-insurance basis, our interest is aligned to supporting our clients through trading difficulties and we wish to avoid any conflicts of interest that a referral fee may create as our priority is to help our clients. In fact, the Demand Response Mitigation Service, as outlined in your policy wording, is funded by insurers to help support our clients when faced with statutory demands. On this basis, we hope this clears up the incorrect assumptions that you have made in relation to our interest in and how we work with third-party service providers.
In relation to our authorised panel members, this includes a number if industry leaders and is not restricted to one firm. The recommendation we provided to you was based on identifying the most suitable member from our approved panel based on the details of your requirements, which is why they were recommended by the Support Desk in the first instance.
Finally, a copy of the policy wording was provided to you as part of the information we issue to you when determining whether to take insurance cover. The demands and needs statement issued at the quotation outlines the suitability of product to your individual needs. This is a transparent process with no hidden clauses.

Beware
Beware ! All of the 5 star reviews relate to the experiences of signing up or renewing policies. None relate to what happens if you make a claim ! Entirely different experience !!!!!!
My company had built up an 80% no claims on our policy and were paying almost £10K pa in premiums, but in the event of a claim we got less than 20% of our claim.
One star is too much for this but I couldn't give a minus 5 star review.

Our claims handling and settlement procedures have been followed in line with the policy wording and in accordance with our regulatory responsibilities.
The outcome and calculation of your claim was based on the financial information you provided together with the letters you issued to creditors in order to obtain their support for the Company Voluntary Arrangement.
When it came to the claim settlement, a breakdown of the calculation was disclosed to you with specific reference made the appropriate provisions within the policy wording (which was provided to you prior to acceptance of the insurance contract). The settlement was agreed by you at that time.
We acted in accordance with the terms of the policy and ahead of the timelines stipulated at your request in order to support you when faced with legal action from creditors.

Second to None
Having worked with Purbeck for a over a year now they are excellent in their approach, response and communication, aswell as their unrivalled product.
When referring a client, time is of the essence and reliance on that client being looked after is key. I have absolutely no hesitation when referring a client to Purbeck as my last case demonstrated.
The client needs were met and the policy was in place in a professional and timely manner.
Both myself and the client were very happy with Purbeck, and James in particular.

Repeated spam email from this company makes me think that either they are a bit sketchy or struggling to attract clients. Whichever the case, I would not choose to use them myself based on the impression given.
