DO NOT got to this school!!! I NEVER do reviews, but this program is a disgrace. I am currently in their BSN program and it is an absolute mess. The first quarter was good and the teachers were great, but this quarter is HORRID. Most of the professors are horrible and don't know anything about what they are teaching. Specifically Nancy Drallmeier. She should not be allowed to teach in any capacity and offers no resources for studying. Clinicals are almost worse than the teachers. We showed up to a clinical site and our professor never showed up. Turns out we aren't having actual clinicals because the school is so poor at getting their schduling straight, so they slapped something together on campus that had no relation to our actual class. Students that graduate next month told us to "leave while you still can." The administration and teachers love to use Covid as an excuse for the s**t show that this program is. Save your money and go somewhere where you will actually learn something.

I started the LPN program at Rasmussen College and I cannot tell you how horrible they were. They overcharged the students and when asked about the fees, they give you the run around..... no specifics. The instructors were not knowledgeable enough to answer questions and we were told, "I'm not going to tell you. You can look it up" for any clarification in the classes. They take you to clinical and tell you to do something only to find out it is wrong and then make an example out of you in front of all your clinical classmates. I came back for my ADN degree because going anywhere else meant I had to retake a lot of classes as they had expired. The instructor at the Blaine campus had favorites for students. It didn't matter how hard you worked or how much you knew the material. They are not there for you to succeed. In fact, they mess with your grades to make students fail classes so they have to be retaken. This is how they get more money out of you. When you do speak up and follow the steps they ask you to follow, you are treated worse. I ended up calling St. Cloud to see about transferring to their campus as most students that were able to transfer say it's so much better. The first time I tried, St. Cloud was so warm and welcoming. They said they had room and it would be quick to transfer. I called St. Cloud because my counselor at blaine would not return any messages regarding a transfer and the few he did return, I was given the run around...... one excuse after another as to why I couldn't transfer. He finally said if I called early on in the next semester, I should be able to transfer for the following semester. I called on the first day and said to start the process. It took ALL SEMESTER for something St. Cloud says only takes a couple days. Once I transferred to St. Cloud, I was actually TAUGHT content and skills in every class. I still had to study, but not teach myself everything. They answered any questions in class too. I was getting excellent grades and even made the deans list!! I will say, St. Cloud was amazing but Blaine was a nightmare. It just depends on which campus you attend. I started St. Cloud late in the program and so when I made it to being given a nursing job, I was not prepared by any means. I had to have a lot of on the job training. I was not confident by any means and I almost decided to give up nursing all together out of frustration. Rasmussen University needs to really make a lot of changes. I had such a bad experience that I wanted to call the board of nursing, but feared retaliation if I did while in the program. Now that I am in the field and working, I just don't want to relive the stress of calling the board. I still have days where I feel I need to and I just might soon. They charge a lot of money for the nursing program and treat their students very poorly. Now I am getting ready to start school for my BSN, and I refuse to go to Rasmussen ever again. I don't recommend it to anyone. I share my story when I hear someone considering Rasmussen, especially the Blaine campus. When someone asks where I went to school, I am always embarrassed and ashamed to say Rasmussen. I refused to attend graduation too. Anyone considering Rasmussen, be prepared for a lot of added stress in top of the already stressful nursing program (or whatever program you are entering). They will make your experience a living hell and you will not be prepared to enter the workforce upon graduation.

In my last quarter of the nursing program and have to say this has been the worst educational experience of my life. Aside from a handful of instructors, the teaching has been abysmal at best. It is nearly impossible to get a timely response (72 hours) from instructors or “deans” (whatever that means; they change every quarter). The clinical sites are a joke (virtual or SNFs, even for an RN program). The only pros of this school are being able to get in quickly and be done quickly. You will teach yourself for the most part, which I didn’t mind too much as an LPN but if I didn’t have any prior healthcare experience I’d be very shaky with what this school “teaches”.

THIS SCHOOL IS SO UNORGANIZED.. IT IS RIDICULOUS. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT A QUALITY EDUCATION!!!!!! YOU WILL HAVE TO TEACH YOURSELF EVERY SINGLE THING! NO HELP, THE DEAN DOESNT HELP, THEY DONT WANT YOU TO SUCCEED.

I have been attending Rasmussen for a year now, and am so happy with my decision. If I could go back I would still choose this school. I read reviews similar to the current negative ones when I first started. They were definitely nerve racking, but I moved forward anyways because I liked the accelerated approach and wanted to get started with my career being that I felt I was “late” to get started with my education. Im in the nursing program, and have respected every instructor as a nurse. They all have lots of experience and helpful anecdotes. There has been one instructor so far that I felt was more difficult than she should be and made it hard for people to succeed. That was hard to get through but with the quarters only being 11 weeks, having a class you don’t love isn’t too bad. I made it through, and have had good or even amazing experiences with the other instructors. Despite other reviews, I feel that this is a great program for working adults (if you have a job that will respect your class schedule). Most of my friends in the program are very busy and are thriving. I also feel that the faculty is willing to work with you when you need help, as long as you actually need help and aren’t just being lazy. I had surgery during the first week of one of my quarters are ROYALLY screwed up my schedule. For some reason I just couldn’t get myself together and get my schedule straight and missed even four weeks of a couple classes. I was so surprised to find that the dean, my advisor, and both instructors worked with me to catch me up and went above and beyond in a situation that was purely due to my short comings and a small surgery. I also see lots of students go here who don’t speak English as a first language and I’m sure struggle with it, and have seen some instructors really help them through that (although I am aware I can’t speak to that struggle, just wanted to mention another way I have seen the staff be helpful). Sure, there are situations that feel unfair, but I understand that the staff needs to adhere to policies. I can think of a couple situations in which some friends were dealt a very unfair hand and struggled through it. Overall, this is a school in which you take your education into your own hands and advocate for yourself. You can gain lots of knowledge from these instructors if you choose to. You can also choose to advocate for yourself when you need help. I get where the negative reviews are coming from. I just feel that they aren’t giving the full picture and that my overall experience is positive. I would encourage anyone considering this school to go for it.

-10/10. This is the most snakey and unorganized school. They treat you like you are chopped liver. They expect you to be professional and understanding and they are the least bit of that. They do not care about any of your issues and if you try to get a hold of them- you wont. They are never in office and never respond to emails. You as a student are the least of their priorities. I have two weeks until graduation and they have made my dream of being a nurse a nightmare.

I had high hopes with the nursing program. The communication is very poor and orientation is poor. Providing numerous emails is not a form of orientation and proper communication. Classes are scheduled at times convenient to the instructors so this is not a program for working people although you must have insurance for clinicals, so I suppose it is for those fresh out of high school still under their parents insurance and with no children of their own. The online platform is confusing. Just because an accelerated program is fast does not mean it should be unmanageable, if half the class is struggling and failing there is a problem. Instructors present PowerPoints with over 25 grammatical errors and then deduct points from student assignments with grammatical errors. Instructors are teachers that are suppose to lead by example, especially nurses. Aside from that many of the instructors at the campus I was at, I would not want as a nurse to treat me. They lack tact, caring and ettitiqutte and yet they are instructors, teaching future nurses. The program could be so much better without the clique of instructors currently there, including some of the Dean's. They feed of each other and talk about the students inappropriately. One instructor, I suppose, became upset that I emailed the Dean about a lack of response from my instructor, so she used me as an example that day in class. Of course she didn't mention my name but the scenario was mine and I was shocked. It's these types of immature behaviors that you see all the time in the nursing program at Rasmussen.

I am a recent graduate from Rasmussen University and I am so saddened by the negative feedback I’m seeing here. The truth of the matter is if you want a school to just give you your degree then this school is absolutely not for you. My experience at this school was great , you put in the hard work you will get the reward! This is simply the truth. The truth is that my program had many ups and downs but what I found was that the instructors and staff really cared about my success and were always encouraging me to move forward, but they were not willing to just give it to me I had to put in the effort. Quite honestly I don’t know anyone who would want to obtain their degree without working hard for it what kind of professional would you actually be at that point? My experience with this school was full of encouragement, pushing to succeed, and celebrating my success throughout the entire program. When you decide to go to a school if you want to be challenged and learn this is the school for you. I am so happy I decided to go to Rasmussen, I wouldn’t be a graduate in my dream career without them.

As another Rasmussen reviewer wrote, “Run, run, run!” If you read all of the Rasmussen reviews and still decide to attend, I highly encourage you to triple-check the information you are given from the advisors and other staff members, and to get it in writing. My experience included information that was often incomplete and inaccurate, as well as inconsistent between staff members and other platforms (e.g., the Rasmussen website). I contacted the director of the program, the academic dean, and the admissions office and my feedback was left unheard and unrecognized, which means they have no intentions of trying to improve. Being a profit-based institution, the lack of customer service is shockingly bad. Based on what happened to me, plan to be your own advocate by researching and gathering your own information as the advisors are often over-worked, without the knowledge to answer questions, and unable to perform their jobs, or a combination of all of the above – which is a nice way of saying they are incompetent.

I see a lot of negative reviews about this College, which is now a University. I give Rasmussen a 4 out of 5 stars. I attended Rasmussen online program in Nov 2018. I graduated in Sept 2020 with my A.S. in Marketing. My experience with Rasmussen was great. The instructors were very helpful. If you don't understand any of the courses, you can easily send the instructors a message or even call them. Initial post discussions are due on Tuesday. Responding to two or more students' discussion posts are due on Saturday. Assignments and/or quizzes are due on Sunday. Also, Rasmussen provides tutoring services, which was very helpful. One problem I have with Rasmussen is receiving my honor cords. My GPA is 3.85, which is considered Summa Cumm Laude. I am supposed to receive honor cords. At first, the person in charge of the graduate program has been responding to my emails, but now he is not. I even contacted the Dean and he has not responded. I feel ignored. It's either you're going to send them or not lol. Some of you may think, "it's just honor cords, who cares." I worked hard for my degree and if I am supposed to receive cords as a token for my graduation, I would love them. College is not free and it can be very challenging. Unfortunately, based on the licensing rules for online programs, NY, Connecticut, and Rhode Island does not accept applicants from those states. I can no longer attend Rasmussen because of their new licensing rules. I will be enrolling elsewhere for my B.S. For those who say, "jobs will not hire you because you graduated from Rasmussen or from online college" is a complete lie. I know someone who graduated from Rasmussen online program with their B.S. and now has a great city job with a great salary. It's all based on your transcripts, resume, and how well the interview goes. Online college is even more popular and essential due to COVID-19.

I was originally quoted one price for the program and then was charged much more than quoted. The reason given was "there is a new curriculum." Not sure why a new curriculum requires charging a third more. During covid, all classes have been online but the price stays the same. I am not receiving the same level of education as in-person classes but am still paying in-person prices. Give students a break while we struggle through everything that is happening. Reduce tuition until classes are in-person again.

I completed the RN to BSN program in 2018. 2 classes at a time for 18 months, while working full time. For me, it required doing something each evening and most of the weekend to get everything done. It’s not easy, and don’t expect to skate by. But it’s completely doable if you do the work. There is great support and the instructors I had were wonderful at communicating what was expected.

Where to begin. This is my first one star rating I've ever posted. If I could give zero, I would. I was failed on a final paper because the grader didn't feel I understood the course content. When I re-took the class, because of how confident I was in my work, I turned in the same exact papers and passed with a 100%.

Later on, I took another class that was aligned with my current line of work. I asked the instructor for some more information and any advice he had and he told me to "Google it". Later in the course with the same instructor, I had classmates reaching out to me for help. The instructor many times mentioned "[she] brings up a good point".

Another instructor told introduced herself on the first day by saying he has a "masters in marketing, so I'm like really good at Marketing". Give me a break.

The instructors have no intention on "teaching" you anything. They are here just to help you get your degree and take your money.

I should have skipped the graduation ceremony. How dare you think it's ok to mix in the bachelor students graduating with those receiving a certificate? I cannot even imaging how the few Master degree recipients felt walking the same stage as those who didn't put forth nearly the same hours or effort as the graduate degrees. If this is the case due to number of graduates, at least differentiate the students by different colored cords. We ALL had gold. For myself graduating 3.8 GPA. I shouldn't look like someone who received their certificate with honors.

Do yourself the favor and don't waste your time at this "college"

Students cheat their way through the nursing program. Quizzes, assignments and tests are recycled making it easy for students borrow them from their friends who are ahead of them. To make it worse quizzes and tests are not proctored giving way to widespread cheating. Graduates from this College are half baked. Their degree is not worth the paper they are printed on. Stay away from them it’s a money-making machine

I have never had an unpleasant experience at Rasmussen College. I am not sure why so many people leave bad reviews (but I did experience some folks who perhaps were hoping for an easy way out of Nursing School and be able to graduate doing little work). Rasmussen isn't cheap BUT one thing I learned: I was not BUYING my degree, I worked really hard to finish the program BUT with the help of wonderful instructors, I had the best guidance and also passed NCLEX on my first try! On March 16, 2020, during a 12-hour transatlantic flight to Brazil, a 35-year-old female passenger suddenly became very sick and experienced seizures. Another passenger ( an Orthodontist ) and I promptly started first aid with the supplies the stewardesses had provided to us. With the help of my “partner” the Orthodontist, I was able to assist with assessing , starting an IV and administering 0,9% bolus quickly and stabilizing this patient. I can only thank the wonderful professors and all staff at the Romeoville - Illinois Campus for given me the opportunity and the competence to act in an emergency with confidence and courage as a new nurse.
