Discriminates on Basis of Disability - Devan Powers and Missoula Property Management, LLC
Missoula property Management discriminates on the basis of disability. The housing provider refuses to make reasonable modifications/accommodations for rent due dates and charges late fees, knowing that my Social Security check is paid later in the month. Ms. Devan Powers insists that it would be unfair to other tenants and "members of the community" to accommodate a combat veteran's social security payment schedule, and charges me more. Including a double deposit and late and notification fees. Evidently, treating the disabled with consideration would fundamentally change the nature of their business and impose an undue burden on them. Montana and Federal laws provide that accommodating disability benefit payment schedules for the disabled as a Civil Right. HUD specifically provides this example as just. Ms. Powers and Missoula Property Management adamantly and impudently disagree, or perhaps consider that some civil rights don't count. Particularly mine. As a Disabled American, whose disabilities are Service-Connected, I am both disappointed and deeply offended.
