Riversdown has given me a unique way to develop my English skills, so that today I feel comfortable in any communication, whether it is professional in my job or as a private person. I can only give Riversdown and the entire team behind it, my highest recommendation.

I give Riverdown House 5 stars because everything exceeded my expectations. The lessons were excellent, the staff were welcoming and friendly, the teachers were highly professional and supportive, and the activities were enjoyable and well organized. It was a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend Riverdown House to anyone who wants to improve their English in a friendly and motivating environment.

I recently spent a week at Riversdown House and can wholeheartedly recommend it.
The combination of excellent teaching, a beautiful setting, and genuinely warm hospitality made it a truly special experience. The lessons were engaging, practical, and tailored to individual needs, helping me improve my English and, even more importantly, my confidence in using it.
What I will remember most is the friendly atmosphere and the wonderful people I met along the way. I left with improved English, great memories, and a strong hope of returning one day.

I studied at Riversdown for a week in May 2026. It was an incredible, immersive English course from breakfast straight through to the evening entertainment every day. I greatly improved my listening and comprehension skills, as well as my vocabulary and speaking. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to take their English to the next level. Thanks a million to all the staff and teachers. It is such a lovely place.

A truly unique way of improving your English, in a wonderful environment that perfectly combines modern comfort and technology with the best of traditional Englishness. You are warmly welcomed, admirably looked after and fully catered for, with great cuisine, in an old manor house, in the midst of beautiful grounds, which allows you to concentrate on your study.

The teachers / tutors are highly competent, varied and adaptable. Lessons are one-to-one in person and can be tailored to any requirements. At the end of two weeks, I was very satisfied with the sessions with, and feedback from, the selected tutors for my unusual level and specific needs outside the main line of business English.
Full immersion works very well and allows for fruitful exchanges with other teachers and adult students of all ages, nationalities, and lines of business or expertise. This rewarding experience is an additional benefit.

Finally, there are very nice opportunities to relax, between or after lessons, with the facilities on site, the golf course, and the beautiful English countryside.

Une expérience remarquable

Une façon véritablement unique d’améliorer son anglais, dans un cadre idyllique où se mêlent habilement confort et technologie modernes d’une part, et les meilleurs aspects de la tradition anglaise d’autre part. On profite d’un accueil chaleureux, d’un personnel aux petits soins et d’un service complet de grande qualité, avec une excellente restauration, dans un ancien manoir anglais entouré d’un parc splendide. Tout est pris en charge pour que les étudiants puissent se consacrer à leurs études.

Les enseignants sont très compétents, d’horizons divers et s’adaptent efficacement au niveau et aux besoins spécifiques de chaque étudiant, dans des séances individuelles en face à face. J’ai été très satisfait de mon séjour de deux semaines, à la fois du contenu des séances, du choix des professeurs, de leur retour et conseils, tout à fait adaptés à mon niveau de langue particulier et à ma demande très spécifique hors du cursus traditionnel d’anglais des affaires.
L’immersion complète est très efficace et un atout particulier et supplémentaire qui favorise les échanges avec les autres enseignants et des étudiants adultes de tous âges, venant de secteurs d’activité variés et du monde entier. C’était très enrichissant.

Enfin le domaine est très bien équipé aussi pour se détendre entre les cours, y pratiquer du sport (notamment un beau parcours de golf), ou simplement profiter de la charmante campagne environnante.

Riversdown House ist eine einzigartige Erfahrung, die einen nicht nur in die englische Sprache, sondern auch in die englische Kultur eintauchen lässt!

Im Bereich immersiver Trainings ist Riversdown House ganz sicher der Maßstab, an dem sich andere Sprachanbieter orientieren müssen. Die Lehrer sind großartig und gehen sehr individuell auf die Bedürfnisse ihrer Schüler ein. Der Einzelunterricht wird dabei im Combined Training, an dem ich teilnehmen durfte, durch moderierte Gruppendiskussionen bzw. Teilnehmergespräche ergänzt. Da die Teilnehmer aus unterschiedlichen Ländern kommen und auch sehr unterschiedliche berufliche Erfahrungshintergründe haben, konnte ich hier auch abseits der englischen Sprache sehr viel für mich mitnehmen. Gleichzeitig wuchs durch den intensiven Austausch die Gruppe innerhalb kürzester Zeit zu einer echten Gemeinschaft zusammen. Tolle Gespräche bei ebenso tollen Mahlzeiten (Frühstück, Mittagessen, Abendessen!) ein Golf-Training mit einem echten PGA-Pro sowie Ausflüge in umliegende Dörfer, Pubs, Weingüter und Städte (Winchester, Oxford) rundeten die Zeit ab.

Was mich wirklich begeistert hat, ist, wie durchdacht das gesamte Programm ist. Es wird sich um alles überaus aufmerksam, zuvorkommend und ausgesprochen herzlich gekümmert, so dass man sich voll und ganz auf die Verbesserung der eigenen Sprachkenntnisse konzentrieren kann. Das großartige Riversdown-Team macht den Aufenthalt hierdurch zu einer wirklich unvergesslichen Erfahrung. Ich werde immer gerne an die Zeit, die ich an diesem ganz besonderen Platz verbringen durfte, zurückdenken!

Der Unterricht fand überwiegend im 1-zu-1-Format statt, mit Trainern, die sowohl fachlich als auch menschlich auf höchstem Niveau arbeiten. Diese individuelle Betreuung machte das Lernen besonders effektiv, zielgerichtet und gleichzeitig sehr angenehm.

Neben dem Einzelunterricht bot das Programm eine Vielzahl weiterer Lernformate: Gruppenpräsentationen, Vorträge, Trainings-Meetings und zahlreiche Konversationsrunden. Diese abwechslungsreiche Mischung sorgte dafür, dass das Englischlernen nicht nur intensiv, sondern auch lebendig und praxisnah war.

Trotz des anspruchsvollen Lernprogramms blieb genügend Raum für persönliche Gespräche mit den anderen Studierenden. Besonders spannend war es, Menschen aus unterschiedlichen Ländern kennenzulernen, nicht nur sprachlich, sondern auch kulturell. Der interkulturelle Austausch („Cross Culture“) wird in Riversdown aktiv gefördert und gelebt. Diese Begegnungen waren für mich ein ebenso wertvoller Bestandteil des Aufenthalts wie der Unterricht selbst.
Riversdown beeindruckt nicht nur durch seine professionelle Lernumgebung, sondern auch durch seine wunderschöne, ruhige und teilweise mystisch-friedliche Atmosphäre. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön und immer sehr sauber. Das Essen ist sehr gut. Abwechslungsreich und auf einem sehr hohen Level zubereitet.
Ich werde bestimmt noch einmal zurückkehren. Riversdown ist für mich ein Ort, der Lernen, Begegnung und Inspiration auf einzigartige Weise verbindet.

Mi experiencia en Riversdown House ha sido, sinceramente, mucho mejor de lo que esperaba. Iba con expectativas altas, pero aun así consiguió sorprenderme desde el primer momento.
El entorno es espectacular y transmite una calma especial. La casa, las habitaciones y el nivel de limpieza están cuidados al detalle, con un punto de confort que no se puede describir . Pero lo que realmente marca la diferencia es el equipo: la amabilidad y cercanía de todo el staff hacen que te sientas como en casa desde el primer día.
A nivel académico, la inmersión es total, pero en ningún momento se hace pesada. Está muy bien estructurada y es muy dinámica, lo que hace que estés constantemente aprendiendo sin sentirte saturado. Los profesores son excelentes, muy profesionales y cercanos a la vez, y saben adaptar las clases a lo que necesitas. Sales con la sensación real de haber avanzado.
Uno de los aspectos a destacar también ha sido la convivencia con personas de distintos países (resto de estudiantes). Las conversaciones surgen de forma natural y enriquecen muchísimo la experiencia, no solo a nivel de idioma, sino también a nivel personal. Las actividades sociales están muy bien planteadas y ayudan a crear ese ambiente relajado donde todo fluye en inglés sin esfuerzo.
La comida merece una mención especial: el nivel es de auténtico lujo, y es otro de esos detalles que hacen que la experiencia sea redonda.
Pero si tuviera que quedarme con algo, sería la sensación general: todo el mundo es increíblemente amable y cercano, y consiguen crear un ambiente en el que te sientes cómoda, cuidada y parte de algo desde el minuto uno.
Después de dos semanas allí, me voy con la sensación de haber aprovechado muchísimo la experiencia, tanto a nivel de inglés como a nivel personal. Sin duda, volveré!!

Riversdown House offers much more than an English learning experience. The atmosphere encourages openness, curiosity, and genuine listening, which makes learning meaningful.

This was my second time at Riversdown House, and it confirmed what I already felt during my first visit: it is a truly special place. The teachers are not only highly competent but also incredibly warm and engaging, creating a learning environment where everyone feels encouraged to participate and grow.

Just last week, I had a meeting with executives from different nationalities, and I noticed how much more confident I felt. I realized that I had already practiced similar situations at Riversdown House: speaking, listening, and engaging in meaningful dialogue across cultures.

I left with confidence in my English, but also with a deeper appreciation for dialogue as a bridge between cultures and people. I already look forward to coming back.

It's always a pleasure to be at Riversdown. The teachers are very professional, friendly, and welcoming.

The team is very welcoming. You feel right at home in a charming, slightly old-fashioned atmosphere. I meet very interesting people, I improve my English, and I feel truly comfortable. I'm very lucky to be able to have this English learning experience.

I had an incredible experience during my immersion at Riversdown House. I'm Brazilian, and I've always had a lot of difficulty learning English, but I left with a completely different mindset. The teachers were amazing, and not to mention the whole experience that makes you feel like part of the family. Experiencing a bit of English customs and local culture was fascinating for me, an experience I will carry with me for the rest of my life as one of the best I've ever had! I had the pleasure of staying at Riversdown House for a week this December, and it was truly an exceptional experience. The setting is unique and inspiring — peaceful, beautiful, and perfectly designed for focused learning. What makes Riversdown especially outstanding, however, is the dedication of the staff. Now, after a week after finishing the course I could definitely state that it made a grate impact on the way I feel during conversations with native speakers!

I started this course from absolute zero, with a very basic level of English, and honestly, it has been one of the most interesting and valuable learning experiences I’ve ever had.

The program is incredibly well designed for people starting from scratch, like me. It gave me solid foundations in communication, interaction, and speaking—key elements that I know will be essential for my professional development, which is my main objective. I’m sure it is just as powerful for intermediate and advanced levels, but in my case, coming from a very basic level, the progress and confidence gained have been remarkable.

Beyond the learning itself, the environment, the people, and the full immersion make a real difference. The staff and fellow students create something special.
