Such incredible experience!

Firstly, learning English was tailored to me, based on my needs, the mistakes I used to make, things I struggled with. I’ve learned a lot about effective communication and cross-culture.

Secondly, the whole experience of being immersed with Riversdown, the English lifestyle, the history and culture was incredible.

Lastly, the staff and fellow students are the biggest part of all that. It feels like we’re all just a bigger family.

I’m definitely coming back and I highly recommend to try!

Riversdown is a truly fantastic place — somehow frozen in time — where you can relax, disconnect, and find inner peace. It offers a complete experience: beautifully decorated Jane Austen–style rooms and mansion, five-star meals, and amazing company.

The daily schedule is well organized: wake up at 7 a.m., breakfast at 8 a.m., and lessons starting at 9 a.m. Everything runs to perfection, allowing you to fully enjoy the experience with no stress and no pressure. Empathy and warmth surround you at every moment. The kindness of all the staff at Riversdown is exceptional and deeply heartwarming.

You truly immerse yourself in the English language and culture with remarkable ease and effectiveness. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to discover such an inspiring place, and I honestly wish the world were filled with more people like those at Riversdown — spreading kindness, positivity, and good energy. It’s contagious, and all the participants are inspired by the same good vibes, enthusiasm, and generosity.

Riversdown House to miejsce absolutnie wyjątkowe – idylliczny dom z pięknym ogrodem i polem golfowym tworzy atmosferę oderwania od codzienności i pełnego zanurzenia w nauce języka angielskiego. Niezwykłym atutem szkoły jest koncept wspólnego mieszkania i spożywania posiłków z nauczycielami, co daje możliwość praktykowania języka przez cały dzień, nie tylko podczas lekcji. Od samego początku czułam się tam jak VIP gość – wszyscy są niezwykle życzliwi i pomocni.
Nauczyciele są profesjonalni, a program nauczania dostosowują do indywidualnych potrzeb i oczekiwań ucznia. Dodatkowo organizowane są wycieczki do pobliskich miejscowości, które prowadzi nauczyciel David oraz mieliśmy okazję zobaczyć musica. To świetne okazje, aby poznać lokalne tradycje i angielską kulturę.
Pobyt w Riversdown House pozwolił mi odświeżyć gramatykę, znaleźć obszary nad ktòrymi muszę jeszce pracować i jednocześnie uświadomić sobie moje mocne strony. Już drugiego dnia zauważyłam realne postępy – zaczęłam samodzielnie poprawiać swoje błędy i nabrałam większej pewności siebie w posługiwaniu się językiem.
Ta szkoła to wyjątkowe miejsce pod każdym względem – atmosfery, ludzi i jakości nauczania. Zdecydowanie polecam każdemu, kto chce skutecznie i przyjemnie uczyć się angielskiego.

Riversdown House ist ein idyllischer Ort mit wunderschönem Garten und einzigartigem Konzept: Man lebt und isst zusammen mit den Lehrkräften und übt dadurch Englisch den ganzen Tag. Die Atmosphäre ist herzlich, ich fühlte mich wie ein VIP-Gast.
Die Lehrkräfte sind sehr professionell und gestalten den Unterricht individuell. Besonders bereichernd waren auch die Ausflüge in die Umgebung, bei denen man Kultur und Traditionen kennenlernen konnte.
Mein Aufenthalt hat mir geholfen, Grammatik aufzufrischen, meine Stärken zu erkennen und schnell Fortschritte zu machen. Ein außergewöhnlicher Ort – sehr zu empfehlen!

I was in Riversdown last week, it was my second time there and it won’t be the last.
Riversdown is a very special place; where I've met very interesting people, where they've made me feel at home, where English immersion is complete, and...where I've eaten wonderfully!

I spent a week at Riversdown, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment I arrived, I could feel the dedication and genuine passion of the people running the place - they truly put their heart into everything they do.
The English teaching approach is highly personalized, tailored to your individual needs, which helped me significantly polish and improve my language skills in just a short time.
Beyond the lessons, the environment itself is warm, welcoming, and inspiring. You really feel the soul and authenticity of the team, which makes learning not only effective but also enjoyable. I left feeling more confident in my English and enriched by the overall experience.

Riversdown non è semplicemente un luogo dove imparare l’inglese, è un’esperienza unica nella splendida campagna inglese. Fin dal primo giorno ho sentito di essere in un ambiente accogliente, circondata da persone stupende e super disponibili con cui ho condiviso momenti indimenticabili. Gli insegnanti accolgono ogni tua richiesta con grande disponibilità e preparano lezioni personalizzate che vanno incontro alle esigenze di ciascuno. Sono sempre amichevoli e le risate con loro non mancano mai: che sia durante i pasti, dopo cene o al pub, ogni momento diventa occasione di condivisione e divertimento. Il mio inglese è migliorato visibilmente già dai primi giorni, grazie a un metodo coinvolgente e alla possibilità di praticarlo costantemente.
Qui non si impara solo una lingua: si vive un’esperienza fatta di incontri, cultura e condivisione. Riversdown è un luogo speciale che porterò sempre nel cuore, e che consiglio a chiunque voglia crescere non solo dal punto di vista linguistico, ma anche personale. Spero di tornare il prossimo anno

Riversdown is a wonderful place for an immersion training. Teacher’s taylor made approach is great and the house and facilities are amazing. An very nice place to retreat for one or two weeks and meet new people. I truly recommend it.

I spent two weeks studying at Riversdown, with the aim of improving my overall English proficiency.
During these two weeks, my main teachers were David, Karry and Michael. They are not only rich in teaching experience but also very approachable. My classmates came from Ukraine, Spain, France, Russia, Brazil and other countries, all of whom showed great enthusiasm for learning and were actively engaged in class. In such an immersive English-speaking environment, my language skills improved considerably without me even realizing it.
But the value of this experience goes far beyond just learning; this place feels more like a warm big family. There’s delicious food, a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere, stunning scenery around, as well as thoughtfully arranged airport transfers and outdoor activities... All of these allowed me to study in a state of physical and mental ease, which naturally enhanced the learning effect.
I’m really looking forward to having the opportunity to come back here in the future, and I hope everyone studying at Riversdown can fully cherish and enjoy the the time.

I went to Riversdown hoping to improve my English — but what I found was so much more. I found a family, a group of kind, inspiring people who made me feel truly welcome.

Yes, I did learn English. But I also had deep, meaningful conversations. I discovered the history of a beautiful country, made friendships I’ll always treasure, and reconnected with nature in a way I hadn’t felt in a long time.
Being in that environment made me feel more alive — more connected, more free, more happy.

That week taught me something powerful: that every mistake is just a new chance to grow. That saying “I did it wrong” can gently become “Tomorrow, I’ll do it better.”

So yes — thank you, Riversdown, for every second, every smile, every learning moment.

And if you’re reading this, wondering whether or not you should go… let me say this: You won’t just be investing in your English — you’ll be investing in yourself.
And I truly believe: Riversdown has the power to change you — in the most beautiful way.

I was searching for a peaceful place where I could immerse myself in the English language – not just through studying, but also by spending time with native speakers in a calm and inspiring environment. When I arrived, I was completely exhausted, but it only took a moment for me to feel reenergized.

I’m incredibly grateful for the time I’ve already spent at Riversdown and am happy to have another week ahead to continue improving my English – especially with David (deeply thankful for our walks and talks!), Fiona (thank you for our lessons with our feet in the pool!) and all the other wonderful teachers.

On top of that, I had the chance to learn about Cross Culture from Mr. Lewis, the founder of Riversdown, take golf lessons with the amazing John, enjoy delicious meals and share countless laughs. Riversdown offers the perfect balance of learning and relaxation, skill-building and self-care.

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem Ort, an dem ich ganz in die englische Sprache eintauchen kann – nicht allein durch Sprachunterricht, sondern auch durch gemeinsame Zeit und Gespräche mit native speakers. Als ich ankam, war ich ziemlich ausgebrannt – aber nicht lange.

Ich blicke auf zwei unglaublich bereichernde Wochen in Riversdown zurück, und ich freue mich auf die noch bevorstehende Woche, in der ich mein Englisch weiter verbessern kann – besonders mit David (1000 Dank für unsere «Walks & Talks»!), Fiona (unsere Lektionen am Pool bleiben unvergessen) und all den anderen wunderbaren Lehrpersonen.

Darüber hinaus hatte ich die Gelegenheit, vom Gründer von Riversdown, Mr. Lewis, mehr über «Cross Culture» zu erfahren, Golfstunden bei John zu nehmen (dem wohl enthusiastischsten und geduldigsten Lehrer aller Zeiten), unfassbar gut und viel zu essen und noch mehr zu lachen. Riversdown ist der perfekte Mix aus Lernen und Entspannung, Weiterentwicklung und Zeit für sich selbst.

I had an outstanding week at Riversdown House focusing on developing my presentation skills and English communication abilities. The teaching team, led by Caroline, created an excellent learning environment that helped me gain confidence for my aspired goals.

Mr. Lewis's inspiring talk and the personalized attention given by my personal tutor Nigel to my pronunciation, business language, and presentation skills were exceptional. The tutors provided focused work on areas I needed most, including interactive skills and expressing future plans.

The hospitality was extraordinary throughout my stay. From the teaching staff to administration and accommodation teams, everyone supported my learning journey. The social aspects, including evenings at local pubs and British heritage visits, added to the authentic British experience!

I made encouraging progress toward my goals and genuinely enjoyed every aspect of the week. The materials and skills I gained will be invaluable for my community work. Highly recommended for anyone serious about improving their English in a supportive, professional environment.

This is the very best place to study English and develop your global mindset. You will take super-intensive individual lessons everyday in the British countryside, full of greenery and wild animals. Meals and social programmes are great times to enjoy talking with other students. This school has students from all over the world, so you will get to know different cultures. Also, there are tennis courts, a golf course, a pool, and a sauna, making your stay more fulfilling. This school is not only for learning English language skills but also for vacationing. Strongly recommended!!
