Stunning design, but non-existent after-sales and a "hollow" warranty.

While Roofmaker’s products initially transformed our extension with their unique design, the ownership experience has been a nightmare. We’ve faced a chain of failures:
• Installation Issues: Incorrect motors were supplied, forcing our electrician to charge for a double install.
• Product Failure: A unit failed after just 4 months. It took 6 months of chasing just to get a diagnosis (a faulty control box/rain sensor).
• The customer service Wall: Despite spending £7k+, I’ve been met with empty promises from the top (Director) down. A year later, the unit is still broken and I have spent hours emailing and on the phone to this company. I am now left having to seek alternatives to cover expenses and finally get the windows repaired.

The Bottom Line is they are great windows if they work, but if they don't, you are on your own. If buying again I would save a lot of hassle and money and go with a reputable brand that values its customers and sells a reliable product.

I ordered two pyramid blinds and one rooflight blind and paid Roof Maker to install them, as I wasn’t comfortable doing it myself. The total cost was just under £4,000, so I expected a professional finish.

Unfortunately, the installation was shockingly poor. Heavy blinds were secured using only four screws into plasterboard, and one blind was left with gaps of at least an inch along the top. The others were not flush or filled in as described they would be. The installers were completely unprofessional.

When I contacted the company to complain, Adam, who had been very accommodating during the sales process, provided extremely poor aftersales service. There was no concern for the quality of the workmanship, how bad the blinds looked, or the fact that I had to pay someone else to reinstall them properly.

There was no apology and no offer of a refund for the installation costs. Overall, a very disappointing experience and not a company I would recommend.

I bought a roof lantern from Roof Maker but found the quality to be below what I would expect. My builders found the fittings that connect the upright frame to the preassembled base extremely fiddly and difficult to work with. The frame itself doesn't interlock to produce a rigid structure and generally give great confidence or look particularly refined. The finishing pieces need to be stuck on.

The finishing trim for the upper section were very poorly manufactured and needed to be remade and replaced a process which took 8 calls from me to chase up and likely wouldn't have happened without my efforts as there was no response from their customer service team.

The remade pieces are in better shape but again are not designed to interlock. The uprights are not mitred in a way that produces a neat finish. And the cap is three pieces which have to be glued on and don't really fit together well.

It's the details and the service which make it difficult to give a better rating. I don't have any other brands to compare it to afteral how many roof lanterns does a person buy? But regardless I would have expected a higher quality product.

I wanted to personally thank Adam for his help with my order for a roof light for my new extension. He was professional, helpful and happy to answer my questions no matter how silly they were. Definitely would use him again for future orders!

From my first enquiry to the point of ordering several roof lights, Roof Maker have been a fantastic company to do business with. As a non-specialist, I needed some 'hand holding' to understand the best product to purchase. From listening, to advice through to communication and purchase process, the experience has been first class. Worthy of special mention is Leebaan who kept in touch with me as our project progressed and did not apply unnecessary pressure to reach a decision. I would wholeheartedly recommend Roof Maker to prospective purchasers of roof lights and associated products.

Brought roof lite
First problem was the seal broke after many phone calls this was fixed.
A few months later one of the motors stopped working . Again several calls and no call back , first was told it was our fault this was after engineer twice failed to turn up after taking the day off work and waiting .The company did fix it eventually . Within 2yrs and a few months the other motor has has stopped working.
I have emailed no replies when promised I would get one a reply as they where going to look at what I had installed . Several calls talking to Molly, John and Richard on numerous occasions, promised call back ,no call back every call . Discovered after many calls the motors are not correct for my window . 2 weeks ago engineers come to replace them but could not get the pin out to open the window . I was told I would be a priority by Richard the manager said he would call with new date for them to come lift glass out and fix motors by putting new motors and 3 motors not 2. I have called several times and still waiting call back .
Absolutely shocking company

We needed two flat rooflights for a kitchen and dining area. We wanted the kitchen one to be electric opening and both were to have electric blinds.
Roof Makers had exactly what we were looking for.

We had the pleasure of talking to Leebaan. He talked us through all our options. He has fantastic product knowledge and was extremely professional.
He explained everything to us very clearly and even liaised with our builder. He offered us honest and helpful advice.
We are waiting for our rooflights to arrive but I have no doubt they will be perfect, but even if there was a small issue, I know that we can pick up the phone and Leebaan would assist us to put it right quickly without issue. A huge thank you.

Friendly and helpful

I recently met Roof-Maker Ltd at the NEC show and was assisted by Leebaan, who was extremely professional and knowledgeable throughout. He took the time to explain all the options clearly and helped me choose the right 5m bifold door for my project. Which is a Garden room.

From the initial conversation at the show to the purchase and follow-up, the whole process has been smooth and efficient. I was really impressed with the level of customer service, product quality, and attention to detail.

It’s refreshing to deal with a company that genuinely values its customers and delivers on its promises. I would highly recommend Roof-Maker Ltd and especially commend Leebaan for his professionalism and excellent service.

I purchased a roof light with a control panel censor to close when it rained. I ordered in jet black. July 2024.
The glass lid was not aligned correctly,, so more of a border showed one side than the other, and the finish in the corners was rough, which they attempted to colour in with one of their special pens to hide the finish!
The control panel stopped working after a couple of weeks.
I had over around four months 6 replacements, as it kept blowing. I felt they were blaming me at one point, but eventually they found out the wattage was not high enough, and a replacement eventually fitted on 5 June 2025.
It's great when it works!
Two weeks ago the control panel stopped working! I called on a Monday left a message and was told Richard would call me. I called the next day and spoke with Richard, he read all my notes from September 2024. He offered to send me a new panel. I asked if they'd fit it too, as they had done before. I was told no as theyre not electricians. An electrician would cost me money, and it is not my fault that it has broken down again. You have a years cover for electrics, supposedly. He was going to speak with his superiors and get back to me. I heard nothing in a week, so I called again the following week, left another message as he was in another meeting.
Two weeks tomorrow. Still not heard nothing!!!
My original order was jet black, when they were going to replace the lid because of the alignment issue and finish, they brought a new one down. The fitter realised it was not the same colour. The one that had been fitted was graphite grey!! Because I'd emailed before to let them know the control panel wasn't working, they wouldn't been able to fit it anyway!
They ended up fitting a whole new roof light, right colour, but the finish was all marked inside, a complete line, so far down on all sides, when i was assured it was perfect. New finishes were arranged to be fitted, the whole roof light had to come off again!
The communication is awful within the company.
I dealt with Kishan who was quite high up, and Jade in customer services originally, and they are both not there any more.
My whole experience has been awful and the unit itself costs alot of money. The service has been dreadful.
When it works,its brilliant.
So im still waiting ..... its now 9 November 2025

We received a very friendly service once again in replacing the motor of our skylight to make it work again. Roofmakers were also honest enough to be in touch to let us know they had charged VAT twice by mistake and to check how they should refund us. Otherwise we would not have realised. Well done, Roofmakers!
