We did the 3 night, 4 day Inca Trail with Sam Travel Peru and our guide and organiser was Josep Quiñonez Alvarez. It was a fantastic experience and Josep made it extra special. He is extremely experienced so was able to read the group very well and make adjustments to the route when necessary. His knowledge of the Incan civilisation was excellent and he was able to convey it in superb English with passion and enthusiasm. Despite the ardours of the trail we had a great 4 days, which undoubtedly was definitely down to Josef.

Poteva essere anche un tour decente ma alcune cose lo hanno reso il nostro peggior incubo in Perù. I problemi sono stati:
- Tip obbligatorie di 12*18$= 200$ di tip obbligatorie da dare davanti a tutti in modo che tu sia costretto e loro non ci paghino le tasse. Peccato non parlarne prima al momento della prenotazione.
- Noleggi obbligatori di 250$ per il materasso ad aria e i bastoncini, altrimenti non ci avrebbero fatto partire.
- Cosa ben peggiore: abbiamo aggiunto (e sottolineo aggiunto) il Huayna Picchu per avere doppia possibilità di vedere Machu Picchu in caso di giornata nuvolosa. Il quarto giorno l'amara sorpresa: non era un'aggiunta ma una sostituzione, per fare il Huayna Picchu non abbiamo potuto visitare Machu Picchu se non di corsa per raggiungere l'entrata! Avevo chiesto mille volte in fase di prenotazione se avessimo avuto il tempo di fare entrambe le cose e ci avevano assicurato di sì.
- Ci lasciano senza guida, e la guida non è formata ma si informa su internet che tanto al giorno d'oggi le informazioni sono facilmente accessibili (sue parole).
- Non è vero che non si uniscono ad altre compagnie, nel viaggio di ritorno ci hanno unito ad altri gruppi e il rientro è stato lunghissimo perchè bisognava accompagnare tutti gli altri (da 5 siamo diventati 20) e loro avevano il diritto di precedenza.

Conclusione: uno spende alla fine più di 1200$ a persona (con un bel +50% rispetto a quanto pubblicizzano sul sito) per NON avere il tempo di visitare la destinazione finale ed essere lasciato solo la maggioranza del tempo.

Siamo davvero tanto tanto delusi da Sam Travel, che per guadagnare di più risponde in maniera sbagliata alle domande che si fanno in fase di prenotazione. Scoprirete la verità sul tour solo quando farete effettivamente il tour e sarà troppo tardi-

Sam Travel Peru were brilliant from start to finish on the 4 day classic Inca Trail. They were well organised which made for a smooth and enjoyable experience. The guides Henry and Jimmy were amazing, so fun and helpful. They were informative about Inca history and really knew how to keep the group energised and having a good time. The chef (Mario) came up with some delicious food, pretty incredible at such remote locations. So thankful for the porters too, who made the experience so much more enjoyable by carrying everything to make camp each night (as well as our duffle bags). An all round spectacular experience, so grateful to a wonderful team.

We booked a day tour for the Rainbow Mountain and it had been just perfect. Fernando, our guide, was really kind and attentive. All the staff is professional and friendly, totally recommended!

We recently completed the Salkantay Trail trek with Sam Travel, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. Our guide, Jhordy, was exceptional. He was highly professional, providing great insights, facts, and stories that enriched our journey. Jhordy was very patient with us and demonstrated remarkable flexibility, adjusting the itinerary when we weren't feeling our best. We highly recommend Sam Travel, especially Jhordy, for making our trek an incredible time.

Ketty was our guide. She speaks excellent English and really took the time to explain the most interesting aspects of Manchu Pichu. She also made sure we got back to the train station so as not to get lost. We appreciate the care she took in making our experience to Machu Pichu memorable.

Booked with Sam travel 4 days, 5 nights Inka trail and have to say it was truly amazing. Julio's team along with guide Jose were exceptional. They were kind and caring for the entire hike. Genuine and friendly. Head chef Julio served delicious 5 star food which was never ending. In the middle of nowhere he even made cake! His Porters were Olympic champions carrying essentials, setting up tents and greeting us each morning with smiles and freshly brewed coffee. Our guide Jose was incredibly knowledgeable about all things Inka plus the native flora and fauna. He was kind, supportive, and encouraging throughout the journey. If you are considering doing the Inka trail to Machu Picchu book with Sam travel. They look after you and their local team of guides, chefs and porters.

My family and I went on the Lares Trek with Raymer as our main tour guide. He and his team literally saved my life. It turns out my medical condition did not agree with the altitude (this fault was due to my lack of research and preparation), and by the end of the first day of the hike I had passed out and my blood oxygen level dropped to 46% due to a high altitude pulmonary edema I developed. Raymer had his team make a stretcher and rush me back down the mountain I climbed that whole day, and brought me back down to their vehicle where they then rushed me to the hospital and I was able to receive proper treatment. Without Raymer’s leadership and his team rescuing me, I would not be alive today. Rest assured you are in great hands and are dealing with selfless professionals who will go above and beyond for you when you do business with Sam Travel Peru!!

My family went to Cusco to do the Lares Trek, Machu Picchu and the Rainbow Mountains. We used Sam Travel for all of it and we had an amazing time. Everyone who helped with our trip made it very special. The guides, Ray and Maribel, were very knowledgeable and super friendly and easy to get a long with. The cooks, Nerio and Mario, made amazing food and even accommodated so family members who were vegetarian and vegan. Our porters, Valentin, Moises, Vivian, Sergio and Martin were so fast to set up camp and tear it down while carrying our bags. The drivers, Alex, Zadam and Fortu were great and made us feel very safe on all the roads we were on. Our family had a little health scare that the team helped us with and for that we will forever be grateful!

A once in a lifetime trip! We lucked out getting Auqui as our guide on our 2 day Machu Picchu hike. His name translates roughly to spirit of the mountains - you want this guy as your guide. There are so many logistics that go into this trip - thankfully we didn’t have to think about any of them with Auqui as our guide. Auqui is personable, calm, silly, and full of passion for and knowledge of Incan culture and Machu Picchu.

Overall great experience with Sam Travel. Before the trek they responded within few hours to answer any questions. The whole process was very smooth.
The trek itself was amazing. Definitely recommend everyone. Food was great and the porters did a great job moving and setting up everything on time. It was like a moving lodge from one campsite to another.

Jhonay, our main guide and Jimmy our assistant made this an unforgettable experience. They were so positive and joyful throughout and made sure we had everything we needed to succeed, while explaining and sharing their beautiful Quechuan culture and knowledge of the Quechua sites. The porters, waiter, and chef and assistant chef are literal super heroes. I’m so grateful we chose Sam as this is a 100% local company. We will never forget this trip, thank you for helping our family create beautiful memories and made new friends!!!!!

El camino del Inca de 4 días fue una experiencia extraordinaria. Dura, pero altamente recomendable. A veces es difícil decidirse por una empresa que cumpla con nuestras expectativas. Sam Travel las cumplió. Hubo espacio para pensar y reflexionar, compartir, encontrarse. Aprender de la cultura Quechua que de otra manera no se logra dimensionar. Llegar al amanecer a la puerta del sol fue conmovedor. Los guías: Johny and Jimmy nos hicieron vivir cada espacio recorrido como si pudiéramos estar allá atrás en el tiempo. No lo duden. Viajen con Sam Travel.

Truly one of the best travel experiences we have ever had! Our guide Deivid taught us so much about the culture and history, made sure we were safe and every detail was taken care of, and treated us like family. Jimmy and the entire crew were amazing also! The chef Fortunato prepared meals that were better than any restaurant we went to in Peru. The coordinator, staff, and porters were true angels through the challenges of the Inca Trail. We 100% recommend this team to anyone looking into visiting this wonderful country!

Our experience with Sam Travel was excellent. Deivid, Jimmy, and all of our team did everything they could to make sure we were well taken care of. Deivid was knowledgeable, personable, and friendly. I’m very grateful for our new Peruvian family and I would recommend Sam Travel to anyone, specifically Deivid and Jimmy and our porters on the main Inca trail.

Jhony is an amazing tour guide. Not only is he incredibly knowledgable, but he is also kind, encouraging, and generous. During the Cusco City Tour I really appreciated how Johny taught us the values and spirituality of the Quechua people. I was very moved by the experience. On Rainbow Mountain, Jhony was so helpful and encouraging to me and my group. I felt so safe knowing that he was with us and helping us pace ourselves up this difficult hike--all with a smile! He reminded me to take in the beautiful sights and appreciate the energy of the mountains, and I am certain this is what helped me reach the summit! Thank you!

We took both the Cusco city and Rainbow Mountain with Jhony and what an amazing experience. Jhony was not just a great guide but someone who connected with the group and nature. He focuses on the journey and the roots of the Quechuan culture. Sam travel is professional and well-run, but you don’t loose the feeling of a unique experience.

We did the Cusco City tour and the Rainbow Mountain trek with Jhony and it was amazing!! Jhony was so knowledgeable about Cusco and provided so much insight on the culture, bringing his own perspective all during the tour. During Rainbow Mountain, he was so encouraging to all of us and reminded us to enjoy the entire experience. We had a group of 8 and we all went on our own pace which made a difficult trek less stressful! Jhony also helped us get to the mountain super early to beat the crowd—we ate lunch on the bus instead of stopping on the way and I would DEFINITELY recommend doing so! Crowds were far larger on our descent!

Chris was amazing he took care of us from hotel all the way in cosco and baack. He explained all the details. Took care of us during the crazy hike.
