I've had another dog from saveakillshelterdog, I am a genuine adopter as well as being involved with the rescue. I was delivered Bella my huge girl in a very professional manner I was told every piece of her journey. She is the most gorg girl I feel honoured to have her. Thank you

We recently adopted a large dog who was suffering and shutting down from this excellent rescue. We have nothing but praise for their whole team calling out Julie and Siobhan in particular as they are who we dealt through. Everything was so well organised from the initial and thorough home check through to comprehensive information about the rescue, their partners and of course our dog. Transportation went very smoothly with regular updates and support. We are experienced dog owners with many of them having been rescues so we were already well prepared but this was augmented by fantastic ongoing support which was welcome but I can only imagine how encouraging and heartening this would be to newby adopters!
The passion and obvious hard work Julie and the team put in is remarkable, I do t know how they do it but it seems a common trait to good rescue organisations and I know a few!
I cannot recommend Save a Kill Shelter Dog rescue highly enough,… keep up the great work guys!

I have fostered for this “rescue”. And all I can say is for all the positive excellent reviews You most definitely have not been told the entire truth. I personally received information that was not true. And put not my existing animals in danger. The dog had never been vet checked. If it had been several serious issues would have been raised. Once I raised these issues with the rescue I was told to leave it alone. The health and so called rehabilitation before re homing is non existent. And the matching of dog to home is done with little. Or no care. If issues or problems are raised. You are blocked. I will never use this rescue again. There are many wonderful rescue centres both home and abroad who do a fantastic job. The animals are meticulously vetted and paired with new homes. Sadly this is not one of those. I would advise everyone who considers fostering or adopting from the rescue to not. It is only a matter of time before something serious happens

Not only am I an adopter I have followed and supported this rescue from the start and I’ve watched how they have helped so many dogs. They are dedicated to helping the dogs that are often overlooked or not helped because they are big or ill or have injuries. I’ve seen them transform dogs that were not recognisable as dogs. They are volunteers and they work really hard to raise money to pay for all the medical bills and keep their dogs in an indoor centre which I understand is very unusual in Romania. I really think they do everything they possibly can for every individual dog. It’s clear they are a team that care and I can say that from experience. I have been so lucky to have so much support. My dog is my world. When he arrived he was so much better than I thought he would be because I often see posts on Facebook of dogs arriving and people can’t touch them. My dog was so sweet but nervous of new things and the team helped me through the first few weeks. I couldn’t believe how much support I got and now they still keep in touch and offer any support I need. My dog is perfect now, he has overcome all his fears apart from anything that has a big handle like a broom. They say that’s because it reminds them of a catch pole. I know they have had a few members of the team join then leave because it’s hard work and very emotional, I don’t know how they do it. They work late at night and through the night when my dog arrived and I know they all have jobs and families too. The people that left the team weren’t nice I saw for myself. Some people are in rescue for the wrong reasons, but the team and the ladies there now are so dedicated you can tell how much they love every individual dog. Sadly there are always people who want to hurt good people and this makes me sad. The rescue team do not deserve the abuse from some people. They do a wonderful job and they have created a wonderful community of lovely adopters and foster many of us have become good friends through the rescue and the team. I don’t know another rescue like it. They make me feel like I am in a Rescue family. I will never go to another rescue, because this rescue is very special and the nicest people I have met. I am lucky to be part of their community as an adopter. If they read this I hope they ignore the nasty people who are jealous and tell lies. There’s hundreds of us that support the rescue and always will.

I saw Fred advertised on saksd page on fb. As soon as I saw Freds eyes I instantly fell in love with him. I knew he was coming home to momma. I contacted saksd and spoke to Julie Marshall. She was so very helpful, very knowledgeable about Romanian kill shelter rescue dogs.I felt heard by Julie Marshall and fully supported in my adoption application. I've been kept updated all the way through to when Fred arrived outside our home after a lengthy journey from Romania to the Uk. Julie Marshall talked me through the whole process of their very comprehensive application and she also kept me upto date regularly on Freds adoption through to his transportation. Julie Marshall and her team at saksd are 2nd to none. They all have such a caring and compassionate nature. They all passionately care and love all of the dogs. I believe it's a vocation for all of the team. Nothing is too much bother. No question is a silly question and the support and advice are very comprehensive. I've never experienced such customer care and then Julie said one night in a call to me "You need to come and volunteer with us! I couldn't believe my luck! I've been fully supported as a volunteer on the team at saksd. Our team are incredible. We all go the extra mile for our Kill Shelter rescue dogs and we genuinely care for our adopters and fosters too. I now have my best friend Fred because of Julie Marshall and the team. Fred owes his life to Julie and the team at saksd. If it wasn't for them Fred would be dead and he wouldn't be living his best life with me. Plus I wouldn't be volunteering now as a team member of saskd. I highly recommend our rescue. Also I highly recommend our amazing Kill Shelter rescue dogs too to potential adopters. I highly recommend saksd.5 *****. 2nd to none xxx

We have had two dogs from SAKSD,

We had no problems at all with either of our recues, we followed the advice on rehoming, followed the guidelines on introductions with existing dogs, followed the guidlines on how to settle the dogs in a new home.

we received from julie and SAKSD so much support, encouragement and the team were always on hand to support us no matter the question.

We have made friends with a few other adopters that have used SAKSD and we all support eachother

I hate To point out that there is so many success stories with SAKSD rescues and rehomes, perhaps these two negative reviews it was the people rather than the dog that was bad?

Perhaps they didn't follow the fantastic advice? Perhaps they wanted a dog from a breeder and didn't understand the amount of work, care and love that these rescue needs?

Maybe they should have spent more time working with the dog? rather than blaming the dog Perhaps they should blame themselves, rather than the people who work tirelessly to save these dogs from a death?

Fantastic small group of unpaid volunteers saving vulnerable dogs before they are put down in Romania and rehoming them in the UK where they can finally enjoy their forever home. Great but demanding and emotional work whose results are for all to see. Well done to all involved ...

Wonderful, caring , thorough rescue with great communication, support throughout the process and rescue back up in place . Saving dogs from terrible conditions , rehabilitating them and finding forever homes . If you are a serious ,committed adopter then please apply , I would Highly recommend them.

I've known these people a long time. They are good hard working. They consider each dog and their needs first. Hearts of gold and love and help each one as if it was their own. I would trust and recommend these dogs and people to anyone I know, 100 percent

The Save a Kill shelter dog team are absolutely incredible. I’ve followed the charity for a while now, they give absolutely everything to every dog they rescue. The team are so lovely and are always on hand to offer support and advice. I can see the huge amount of following that they have behind them, lots of love from followers. I cannot fault them. They give their absolute all to this charity 🤍

So please, please, please note that any negative reviews that have been left by an account under “trustee animal welfare charity” are awful bullies.

Please ignore any awful reviews from individuals, they are lies and are completely unacceptable.

Amazing work from this team and what they do for the dogs. Giving them a new opportunity in life.

I have fostered via SAKSD a few times and it's a wonderful charity that I recommend to everyone. I will continue to foster as long as I am able, and and incredibly thankful for the expert advice they give, ongoing support and how much they genuinely love and care for these animals.

Problems can occur when adopters don't listen (or rather refuse to listen and believe they themselves know best) to the advice of the experts. Fostering and adopting a foreign dog is entirely and completely different from a UK dog. SAKSD provide as much, if not more, support than they even need to as a small charity run by passionate female volunteers (who all have full time jobs and families to support aside from their charity work) and I have always found they go above and beyond in every aspect.

I cannot fault the rescue I’ve had 2 Mio x from the girls , the attention to detail was incredible, we have always had pedigree puppies and decided to give a rescue dog a home ended up with 2. Julie Marshall who works tirelessly and Linda storey invited me to join the team and i jumped at the chance . We go above and beyond and our phone is always on . We are a rescue not a charity . I cannot recommend the care and attention that we go to for the sake of these beautiful dogs thrown in kill shelters in barbaric situations.

This volunteer run organisation is the sole reason I have my dog. He was an older dog, unloved and set to be killed. Save a Kill Shelter Dog rescued him & gave him nothing but love. They + donations are what fund this organisation. These women give these dogs hope & a future. I adore Fido with all my heart & I am so thankful to them. They assisted us during his move from Romania to England & continued helping when he was in our care.

Save a Kill Shelter Dog is the most wonderful organisation. The team works tirelessly for the wellbeing of the dogs looking for new homes in the UK. We adopted a dog from them last year and the process was extremely professional. They took the time to get to know us, understand what we could offer and our home environment. I am 100% happy to recommend Save a Kilter Dog Shelter to anyone looking to give a dog in need a loving home.

Julie goes above and beyond to make sure that she rescues and re-homes as many sick, injured and abandoned dogs as she possibly can. I’ve been following SAKSD for a couple of years and can honestly recommend them if you are looking for a reliable and trustworthy rescue. Their compassion for and care of their dogs and their thoroughness and integrity in their dealings makes them one of the best examples of foreign dog rescue. Thoroughly recommended

Very professional organisation. Julie and her team are wonderful . Julie was very helpful and knowledgeable when I was enquiring about a dog . Since my experience i have made a good friend in Julie . I can honestly say I have so much respect for her and her team . The dogs in their care are their number one priority . To see what they were like when rescued and to see them now is just amazing .
