Terrible service received when making a claim. Constant delays, refusals to honour terms of the contract, miscalculations on their part, lack of transparency in decision making and complaints procedure.
On the positive, I did find the staff to be friendly. But their policy processes, ethics, competence, and lack of transparency were easily worthy of a 1 star rating.

Scam insurance company
Two claims made for two different annimals with an average of less than 25% payout, due to "inner limitations" basically making the amount you think you have as overall coverage meaningless. I now have a very large vet bill to pay for. Cancelling my policy with Scratch and Parch and will be using an organisation who has a much more reliable coverage and higher percentage pay out in future.

Do not use this company
Do not use this company, they mis sell policies. We sadly lost our dog a month ago and after being with this company for a few years, never missing a payment, they have come back to me today stating they do not cover dogs over 8, yet they have been taking their monthly premiums from me and have even provided me with a renewal for our second dog who is over 8. Totally mis sold. Why offer a renewal to a customer, when the company knowingly know the pet is over 8?. Total scam. Update to this, I have now had a reply from them stating they do cover over 8 years of age, but under certain limitations. The fact remains, this company does not provide cover to dogs over the age of 8 in their words under restrictions. Death from accident, illness and euthanasia. So to me this means my dogs are not covered, so unfortunately the insurance is not worth the paper it is written on.

We would, however, like to clarify an important point regarding our policies, as we wouldn't want other pet owners to be concerned that their insurance automatically stops providing cover once their dog reaches eight years of age.
We'd like to reassure you, and anyone reading your review, that reaching eight years of age does not mean a dog is no longer insured with Scratch & Patch. Our policies continue to provide cover for eligible veterinary treatment as pets grow older, subject to the terms and conditions of the cover selected. Certain additional benefits, including Death from Accident or Illness and Loss and Recovery, have specific age restrictions, but these do not mean that veterinary fee cover ends when a dog turns eight.
We appreciate that insurance wording can sometimes be confusing, and we always want our customers to feel confident about the protection they have in place.
A member of our Customer Care Team will contact you directly via email to explain the relevant policy wording and terms applicable to your specific claim. We can also reassure you that your claim was assessed correctly in accordance with the terms and conditions of your policy in force at the time.
