I ordered four beautiful outfits for a recent family occasion, but unfortunately none of them were suitable. I returned them straight away via my local post office to the online self portrait store .
After four weeks, I still hadn’t received a refund. I contacted the company and ended up in a back-and-forth email exchange—over 15 messages across two weeks,during which they repeatedly claimed they hadn’t received my return, as I couldn’t provide proof of postage at the time.
They eventually advised me to follow up with Post, as they had no record of receiving the items. After locating my receipt, I contacted the post office, who confirmed that the parcel had been returned on the day I sent it and delivered to Self Portrait’s London office the following day.
Within just one hour of forwarding this confirmation to them, over six weeks after they had actually received the return, I finally received my refund. Very disappointing experience
Unacceptable 14 Day Refund Policy
I ordered 3 dresses to try, kept one and returned 2. The tracking information confirmed receipt of the return but I did not receive a refund. When I called them to ask them to follow up they said that refunds take 14 days. When I asked why, I was told 'that's just the timeframe'. Completely unacceptable for any company to keep hold of your money for so long. On the same day I ordered from Mint Velvet who refunded me immediately and Me & Em who gave me 5 days to try the outfits before they charged me. If you don't live in London, online is the only way to buy Self Portrait so a poor returns service means I won't order again.

I’m really disappointed with my experience with Self-Portrait. I’ve shopped with them before, but this time the experience has been extremely frustrating.
First of all, the sizing on their website is completely inaccurate ... everything runs very small, and in some cases you need to size up by two sizes, which is unacceptable for a brand at this price point.
The customer service is extremely poor. The attitude is not polite or helpful at all, and it feels like they simply don’t care about their customers. They don’t respond on WhatsApp or email, which makes it even more frustrating when you’re trying to resolve an issue.
They also don’t offer any real solutions....................... they don’t compensate for the inconvenience, and even when they provide vouchers, they don’t work. On top of that, you have to pay for the return shipping yourself, which is completely unreasonable given their sizing issues.
I’ve returned my item and it’s taking forever to receive my refund. I’m still waiting, with little to no communication from their team.
Overall, a very poor experience ....I wouldn’t recommend ordering from them.

Whenever I wear 1 piece, everyone asks where it is from.If you have any queries, they reply you asap through email. My only wish, could he design some knee length or above knee dresses and skirts for us girls who are 165 cm. too please.

No money back after return - robbed
I bought a dress online and refused the package - never received it, and ordered transportation to return it. Self-portrait never returned my money, they said transportation destroyed the package and I lost more than 300€! I feel robbed!
Excellent experience
I have to say I had a really good experience with Self Portrait. Even though I didn't keep the dress that I ordered (which was unfortunately too big but excellent quality and a beautiful dress) I returned the dress very easily and received a notification as soon as it had been received their end. I was then promptly refunded 48 hours later. Would definitely order from them again.

Ich hatte am 27. Dezember 2025 insgesamt 2 Kleider für 420€ Euro bei Self-Portrait bestellt, die ich alle 2 als Retoure angemeldet habe und am 7.01.2026 wieder zurück geschickt habe. Der dazu vorgesehene QR Code hat mir auch angezeigt, dass das Paket wieder bei Self-Portrait angekommen ist.
Vier Wochen sind vergangen, und ich habe noch keine Rückerstattung erhalten. Nach langem Hin und Her habe ich einen Fall bei PayPal eröffnet. Daraufhin habe ich eine E-Mail von Self Portrait erhalten, in der sie mir mitteilten, dass sie mir mein Geld zurückerstatten würden, sobald ich den Fall bei PayPal geschlossen hätte. Ich weigerte mich, den Fall zu schließen. Einen Tag später (am 19. Februar 2026) schloss PayPal den Case ab und erstattete mir mein Geld. Super schlechter Kunden Service!! Nie wieder!

I capi erano tutti stupendi, anche se ho potuto tenere solo i jeans, perché gli altri due non fittavano bene (ho sempre grossi problemi con le taglie inglesi😅)
Consiglierei magari di mettere delle misurazioni un po’ piu’ precise così si puo’ acquistare a colpo piu’ sicuro.

Customer service is nonexistent - I sent several emails and what’s app and no one answer. I started my refund process a month ago on the 8th of January. The items arrived on the 15th of January. Customer service gives me excuses and now they essentially stopped answering. Be aware that this company does not care about customer service nor experience and they do not refund the money. I will avoid buying anything again.
Will never buy again or trust this company
Not only we have to pay for the refund, the customer service team told me that it can take up to 28 days. The refund arrived in the facility on January 18, and I haven’t received any updates from the customer service team, only to tell me that it can take 28 days. I never had any similar experience with other company and will refrain me from buying again, customer service is terrible and they don’t even respond.
