We currently work with Andrea Heath. She is absolutely wonderful. We can't sing her praises enough. She is always on time, pays attention to our daughter and understands when she needs 5 minute breaks. We've been working with Andrea for about 6 months and will continue to work with her until our daughter returns to school.
Andrea is very good at working with us, she suggests things she can do with our daughter or follows what I request. She is so easy to work with, I highly recommend her!

Our daughter has been having lessons with Krista to help with her dyslexia for over a year and a half. Krista has been brilliant, her lessons are lively and engaging and incorporate my daughter's interests. She has helped my daughter organise her thinking process and overcome her tendency to get stuck or side tracked, while making the lessons challenging and work on her positive skills. A wonderful teacher.

After two years of receiving no mainstream education due to autism, anxiety and PDA issues, we decided to look for a tutor that could work with our 13 year old daughter. Rebecca’s approach was patient and focussed on building trust with a very bright but socially anxious girl, slowly introducing educational elements over time.
For the first time in over two years we saw our daughter beginning to engage with education again. It has been a remarkable transformation after trying many other different avenues. Rebecca understands the PDA that our daughter has, and can determine when to push, when to back off, and when to give options that give our daughter increased confidence.
Our daughter now looks forward to her tutoring sessions, and is fully engaged with the process. Her sessions are often punctuated with laughter, and we have a happy and engaged daughter once again.
Rebecca herself has been highly professional, and has gone beyond the formal constraints of her tutor time to help where she can, whether with our applications for an EHCP or SEN assistance, to suggesting and helping us to find other options for our daughter going forwards.

Kay has been having sessions with my son for 12 months and is an absolute Godsend.
We wanted him to start sessions prior to starting Reception at a mainstream school as I was really concerned about his ability to engage in adult led activities and how this would impact him. His speech and language skills were also poor and were a massive concern. But in his time with Kay, he has become a confident reader, loving literacy and his comprehension and ability to talk about the books he is reading is astonishing. She has been so flexible adapting not only to his needs but also his interests that as a parent has been so heart warming because it demonstrates how well she has observed and knows him. He eagerly looks forward to their sessions and so many of the things she has implemented or suggested have made a difference in our home life also! Cannot sing her praises enough and even family and friends have commented on his development!

My daughter Jess has been tutored by Glynda for nearly a year now. Before she had very little input. She has complex medical needs, developmental delay but is a very bright, sassy little girl. Glynda has gone above and beyond in taking the time to learn about Jess’s needs. Her likes and dislikes. How to engage with her. The difference in a year is truly amazing. She’s engaging with activities she would never have engaged in before. Is learning to communicate and learn on an ACC device. I’m truly grateful to have found Glynda and to see the positive impact she is having in my daughter’s life. Thank you Glynda! You are truly one of a kind :)

Sensational was able to fulfil a very specific brief of someone who could come to our home at the weekend and had the right skills to help our daughter transition to secondary school educational challeges. No other agency managed this.

We cannot thank Ella enough for her incredible progress with our son. When we first hired Ella, our son struggled to speak clearly and had little to no interest in learning. It was a challenging time for us as parents, and we were worried about his development. However, within just three months, Ella has worked wonders!

Our son is now blending words, speaking more confidently, and has caught up to the standard expected for Term 4. It’s nothing short of amazing! Ella’s approach to teaching is interactive, engaging, and fun, which has completely transformed our son’s attitude towards learning. He gets genuinely excited for his sessions with Ella, and it’s such a joy to see him so enthusiastic about reading and speaking.

Ella is patient, kind, and has a unique ability to connect with children. She tailors her lessons to suit our son’s needs, making learning feel like an adventure rather than a chore. Her dedication and passion for teaching shine through in every session, and we are so grateful to have found her.

SENsational tutors were the only agency we could find which offered the specialist service we need. We’d had several failures with other tutors and professionals before. Sammie has been working with our 11 year old daughter for around a year now. She’s just fantastic. Our daughter has complex needs, including autism and PDA and can be challenging. Sammie has completely won her over and our daughter beams when she sees her at the door. She doesn’t even realise she’s doing schoolwork as Sammie is so skilled at what she does. She just thinks she’s playing! Sammie brings new resources each week, a lot of them tailored to what our daughter likes. We’ve had a lot of failures with schooling in the past and so finding Sammie has been amazing. We’ve noticed speech and learning ability improving vastly with just a few hours a week. We contacted SENsational Tutors to support our son Charlie (Year 5) with Maths and English and improve his motivation and build his confidence with schoolwork in general. Charlie has been having weekly online Maths and English sessions with Alexia for over 3 months now, and we are delighted with his progress! We weren’t sure how successful tutoring would be, as Charlie was quite reluctant and nervous. Charlie has some additional needs (ASD, PDA); he takes time to bond with and trust people and often struggles with the demands of schoolwork due to lack of motivation and fear of failure. We needn’t have worried - Alexia is incredibly patient and understanding with Charlie and isn’t at all fazed when he is having a bad day or becomes frustrated. Alexia always strives to make her lessons engaging, fun and low pressure and Charlie has really responded to this. Alexia gives us regular feedback on Charlie’s progress, her lesson plans and longer term goals for him and frequently checks in to make sure we’re happy with how things are going and if there’s anything we’d like her to cover. The thought and preparation that goes into Alexia’s lessons is obvious - she’s also very skilled at identifying any knowledge gaps and areas where Charlie needs a bit more support and practice. We have already begun to see improvements in Charlie’s progress and engagement, which is great! We feel fortunate to have found Alexia and will continue Charlie’s sessions with her for as long as he needs support.

I have no hesitation in recommending Richard as a tutor. Over six months, his fun and varied weekly sessions have transformed my 10 year old son who had been struggling for a long time with speech, confidence and learning. Whilst he still has a lot of academic challenges, his self-esteem and independence have soared and he is rapidly developing his learning and interests now across many different subjects and topics, including history, maths, cookery and film. My son always looked forward to seeing Richard each week, and would store up things to tell him and topics that he wanted to focus on. Richard has a very warm, accessible and child-led approach which I'm sure would be life-changing for other children with a similar learning or language profile to my son.

After many years of struggling with grammar and English in general; I was finally diagnosed with dyslexia at the grand old age of 52. I decided to look for help to try and improve my complete lack of grammar skills - partly to do with being dyslexic and partly having experienced a 1970’s parochial education which did not in-fact teach grammar.

My son has been having on line tutoring with Jess of Sensational Tutors for nearly three months now. Jess has had a very positive impact on him and has helped him learn new strategies for learning and completing his college work. She is very patient, encouraging and supportive and Jacob has really responded to this and listens to what she says.
