Just an update for all customers who have had poor experience with this awful company. An insolvency service have now finally been appointed - AMS 01614 130999

Please make contact with them urgently as they are making contact with all creditors. Please ensure you provide them with full details of any poor or fraudulent activity you are aware of so they can ensure this is included on their report for the insolvency service.

Regarding Paul glover’s comments on this site none of the disgruntled customers have been disrespectful about fitters,drivers or fabricators. My guess is Stuart Robert Gates has asked you to write your recent comments in return for free work on your shed. My moral compass doesn’t go as far as to let Stuart off the hook. He lied tooooooo many times to not be part of this scandalous way of managing a company. We are taking them to court but they have failed to show up twice.

Everyone on here rating 1* has had some kind of bad experience with S&S. I get it (our experience hasn't been brilliant either). But when a company fails, has anyone thought about where to direct the disappointment/anger/blame??
The only Directors and people with significant control are Angela and Kevin Rotherham (company number 04561435). They will have seen the accounts, they will have controlled cash flow, they will have ordered and paid suppliers, they will have taken money from customers like you and I... They also changed their personal details (maybe home address) on Companies House on 25 August... perhaps they knew/planned what was coming (I am only alleging!).

The employed staff (fitters, managers, fabricators, drivers, etc) may have nothing to do with this failure but they seem to be the easiest people to blame ??

If I am wrong, then please correct me, but if you have any moral Compass, maybe give the employed staff (including Stuart) a bit of a break and perhaps direct your complaints to the real failed business leaders Angela and Kevin Rotherham.

If I could give zero stars Ì would. My mum paid up to 4000 pounds nearly a year ago and even today they said they were coming to do the shed. All the excuses under the sun were given. Even just a few weeks ago, Stuart replied to my mums text saying he had just landed from a holiday so obviously still getting paid from people's shed money that Angela took from people. Angela called last week saying my mum could get her money back and now not replying to her texts or calls. Court here we come.

So the infamous fraudsters have gone pop!! I have not had my refund offered or been contacted as im sure many others have not also.
Good news is the company S&S garden rooms or Sheds & Shelters or Sheds & Stables whichever company they pretend to be! are trading no more. The website is now a talisman of bankruptsy!! The depot that was allegedly making the sheds/buildings is empty and insolvancey have taken over.
Bad news is they have ran off with everyones money... although im sure they will be in court soon enough.
Good riddance to the dirty lying fraudsters !! They took peoples money knowing they could never fulfil orders on a company that was clearly going sideways and yet they still kept on taking money from innocent customers ... i hope they both like porridge and justice is served!!

On 9/8/25 I had a garden shed installed by Sheds and shelters and my experience was admirable and I left a complimentary review. Shortly after the installation I had a problem with the doors not opening properly. I was told at installation that if there were any problems that they would come back and sort things out. Despite daily calls and emails they have not replied . My first email to Stuart when they were on their 2 week summer shut down was no problems we will do it when we return.
Ever since ZILCH they do not return calls or emails ( I have kept a record of every call and email). That in my opinion is very very rude.
My first review was genuine and honest, I should now like to add a follow up note
"BUYER BEWARE" sorry Sheds and Shelters I have tried to engage but you won't.

I paid a lot of money last year for a garden room that I still haven't got. It should have been installed in April, but I just get excuse after excuse. Three times I have agreed a date and they just don't turn up, and when I ring to find out where they are they don't answer. It then takes days of chasing to get any response, and I just go through the same cycle again.

The lack of communication is unforgivable, and when you do get to speak to Stuart he just can't tell the truth. I went to their office today and there were about 10 customers all with the same story. One person was also promised installation this morning, as was I. I was told the full workforce would do my installation.

Don't use this company. If I was very generous I would say they are terrible, but more realistically they are fraudsters.

The owner of this company Stuart is a disgusting person who is out to scam and rip people off.
I've had nothing but issues ranging from delays to poor workmanship.
The pitched roof is no longer pitched it's collapsed. The ceiling has large cracks and often leaks. The doesn't fit the doorframe. The are numerous issues with the exterior of the building.
Sheds and shelters so called on site foreman Jorge is absolutely useless he has no idea what he's doing. I wouldn't trust him to put up a pop up tent. Communication is non-existent. You have to hound them and when you do eventually get a response it's one of Stuarts classic excuses telling you how it's not his fault. He is pathetic and has no moral compass.
I certainly don't trust him to finsh the job and have asked for a partial refund so I can find a decent builder to finish/ repair the building but of course he won't pay up because he's a con man.
We paid 20k in October 23 and this still hasn't been resolved.

I honestly wish I’d never gone with Sheds and Shelters for my garden room. The whole experience was an absolute nightmare. The installation date kept changing over and over, with no proper explanation. Every time I thought it was finally going to happen, I’d get another delay.

Dealing with customer service was even worse. Stuart and Angela were rude, dismissive, and completely unreliable. Promises were made, then broken. I was given excuse after excuse, and at times it felt like I was being straight-up misled. Never answer phones or emails and I even question whether anyone actually works there.

Don’t be fooled by the glowing reviews you see just look closely at the names and how fake they sound. Many of them are clearly one-off fake accounts that have only ever written one review. That should tell you everything.

Save yourself the stress and avoid this company.

DO NOT USE THESE FRAUDSTERS. 1 star is being generous! Everybody needs to start reporting these crooks to the fraud department at their banks and to the fraud department of the police as we have. Lets work together to get this awful company shut down and stopped from taking more money off of hard working people.

I now know how Sheds and Shelters can afford to pay for all these 5 star reviews from non existent customers.

Sheds and Shelters, soon to be S&S garden rooms (due to poor reviews), took two weeks off, in that two weeks thirty, that's THIRTY 5 star reviews materialised!! Wow.... a good time off eh.
I'll be down to see you again Stuart and Angela, the stress and distress you have and are putting my wife through is Shameful. All promises broken, all assurances disregarded.

From the start there were problems with this company. We ordered and paid in full (almost £20k) for our building in March 2024. It’s still unfinished!
The communication from both Stuart & Angela is virtually non existent. There were delays, apparently due to their supplier in The Netherlands. But this was not communicated so we were waiting for the delivery which just didn’t arrive!
Then finally when it was installed it was left unfinished so when it rained the whole structure flooded & warped the floor. No compensation was given, just poor excuses.
Then over the last year we have been given false promises that it would be finished. Angela even ‘guaranteed’ that it would be done by August. It is still not finished and there is no reply from her.
My wife was asked to remove a negative review on trustpilot with the promise they would fix the problem. She removed it in good faith but Angela still has to fulfill her part.
I would give this a zero score if I could.

We paid in full back in March and the building wasn’t installed until July. Since then it’s been nothing but problems — no locks fitted despite repeated promises, faulty doors, and a roof installed so badly it caused flooding and ruined the floor. After all this time, the building is still unfinished. Poor quality, poor communication — I wouldn’t recommend this company.

We placed our order and paid in full back in March 2024, with the building not being installed until July 2024. Since then, it has been nothing but an ongoing nightmare.
The locks that were promised still haven’t been fitted, despite being told several times they would be delivered. In fact, we were assured four months ago by Angela that the locks would arrive, yet we are still waiting with no progress.
On top of that, the door runners were not fitted properly and don’t work as they should. Even worse, when the building was first installed, the roof was done incorrectly, causing the entire building to flood when it rained. This left the flooring warped and damaged almost immediately.
After 18 months, we are still dealing with an incomplete, poorly finished building that cost us a lot of money. The lack of communication, broken promises, and unfinished work make this a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this company based on what we’ve had to go through.

The playhouse has been a huge hit with our children. It’s safe, beautifully built, and looks lovely in the garden. The kids spend hours in it every day – best purchase we’ve made this year!

We finally received our garden room after a short wait, and it was absolutely worth it. The quality is outstanding and the custom design fits perfectly in our garden. It’s already become our favorite place to relax.

I recently had a very disappointing experience with this company, poor communication and unhelpful customer service throughout.

This is especially unfortunate, as I have used them in the past and had trusted I would receive the same standard of service.

However, something appears to have changed, perhaps a staffing issue as they come across as rude and unable to communicate effectively. Some customer service training might help address these issues.

In their current state, I cannot recommend this company. I would suggest looking elsewhere for a reliable, friendly and customer-focused provider.

Had a new garden shed delivered and installed today. I could not be happier with the customer service that I received. The garden shed is absolutely brilliant so well built and the timber quality is seriously of the highest quality, I am so, so very happy with my total experience with Sheds and Shelters and would recommend them to anyone. I have, since my shed was installed read some items on social media which I simply do not recognise in in any way. My experience is that I have dealt with an honourable and high quality company.
Well done to all at sheds and shelters.
