In July 2023 we commissioned a garden room to be made and installed by “Sheds and Shelters”. After initial consultations, plans made and Stuart making many promises about quality of materials used, skilled experienced craftsmen employed and an efficient timescale, we felt excited to go ahead. Things very quickly went downhill as our installation was delayed, and when they did arrive the roof was the wrong colour ( I was told I’d love once it was on….I didn’t, I hated it ) a window was missing, another window broken, a bowed back wall, split wood panels, protruding nails, generally shoddy workmanship not what you’d expect from skilled, experienced craftsmen working to a very high standard, as Stuart led us to expect and as advertised on their website. After many emails and phone calls and many completion dates promised…October, by Christmas, January blah blah blah we were guaranteed that at the end we would have a building finished to a high quality. This is not the case but it was finally “finished” in March 2024. I have since contacted a recommended experienced skilled carpenter to come and discuss some storage ideas for my garden room. After a short while checking suitability, measuring the base joists and the space between, the carpenter advised that the base frame and flooring would be incapable of bearing any additional weight due to the use of inadequate materials and construction standards. We had initially asked “Sheds and Shelters” for a base that would take extra weight, again this we were promised but it was not delivered and it is written in the plans…’heavy duty base frame’. Also the electric cable running from the house to the garden room is not up to the required level needed to have continuous power, resulting in interference to the power in the garden room and the cable isn’t buried correctly. We are yet to receive the promised certificate of electrical works done.
Overall our experience with sheds and shelters has been extremely distressing, unsatisfactory and disappointing, failing to deliver on both quality and professionalism. We are at a complete loss as to what we can do next as this garden room is completely not fit for my purpose. We advise caution to anyone considering their services, as our ordeal highlights significant shortcomings in their workmanship and customer service.

I am sorry to say my experience of sheds and shelters was not as expected!

After a fantastic beginning designing my shed and garden room combi with Stuart, and the excitement of getting a bespoke building exactly how I wanted it, things started to go down hill quite rapidly. Initially my installation was pushed back, and when they did come they bought a panel that was from an earlier design iteration with the door and window in the wrong place. I thought, these things happen and they did correct the issues quickly so not too much bother. However, there have been many other issues since, the cladding started to shift leaving unpainted areas of wood, the wrong door handles which have been taken on and off so many times they are now falling off, rising water where the base wasn't sealed correctly, I waited 3 months for the guttering to be installed, and to top it all off with the winter weather the building has slightly shifted so I can no longer open the shed door and the window is leaking and damaging the insulation and plasterboard.

I have contacted Sheds and Shelters so many times and they are constantly trying to tell me they will fix the problems but no such luck. The building was put up in June, it is now December and I have a slightly soggy garden room and a shed I can't use. They have now stopped responding to my emails and have stopped calling me back, I'm so incredibly disappointed!!

Very good service from start to finish,the two installation guys worked in pouring rain to get the job done! - would have no problem recommending this company.

I would recommend this company to anybody. Excellent service from start to finish. Great price. Staff were professional and helpful. Shed was really well made and arrived on the agreed date. The installation team were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for them. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Thank you.

I would also like to add the guys who attended today are an exemplary asset for Shed and Shelters, given they both worked and didn't stop until the job was done, were courteous polite chatty and did the job to a great standard (given the fact it was bloody freezing outside) from start to finish. I would without question recommend you guys to anyone who asks.

Just had our 8”x 6” pent shed delivered and erected. When we visited the factory a few weeks ago we were impressed with the build quality of all their products and particularly liked that everything was built on site. Great reception from Stuart who talked us through the various options and prices. The two guys that came today were exceptionally polite and the shed was fully built in just over an hour and a half. It was explained that as the wood naturally dried out there may be some door adjustment needed but that we should let things settle for a couple of weeks. After that if we had any issues at all they would return to sort things out.
Really competitive price and do not confuse with the many inferior quality sheds on the market - for example flooring and roof on our shed all T&G rather than cheaper fibreboard.
Very pleased and thank you to all at Sheds and Shelters.

Ordering the shed, and making changes to the layout (we needed an extra door) was easy and the staff were all helpful. The erection team arrived on time and were very neat and professional and the shed went up with no problem. Very pleased with the experience overall.

Great service, even though a really busy summer in covid times they got us in within 6 weeks notice, built a beautiful garage (it looked so nice it was broken into within a few months, nothing stolen as nothing worth nicking, but I guess the garage looked like it was keeping something expensive inside)..we took their advice to make it more secure..the were so helpful and came out the next day to do it for us.
Staff were really helpful in getting specs right, builders put it up quickly and it looks smashing...Prices were actually half of what I was expecting for what we have..

Ghastly experience. They have a new manager who seems to be taking the company downmarket.I had to go to Trading Standards to get the shed/workshop up to an acceptable standard.
I have a CCTV system which showed the installation team, standing on the roof of another shed, and climbing up my fences. No Spirit level or ladders were used during the erection. The shed was inches out of square. Two inches smaller than ordered. So it did not fit the base.
Please note. Although they say their sheds 'should last indefinitly' They only give a 3 year guarantee against rot. [I was told this after I bought the shed.] The office were rude and dismissive when I complained. The roof did not fit and there were many problems. Beware. This is not the company that it once was.
I have videos to prove all of the above complaints.
The reply below, from Sheds and Shelters is pure tosh. I had to repair another shed that their installation team climbed all over and damaged. It was originally supplied by them. 4 years ago They refused to contribute to the repair. Even though I sent them a video of their man damaging it...
You could see daylight from the inside of shed because the roof did not fit. They told me it was for ventilation. Would you want the damp,fog and frost inside your garden building. These people were rude and extremely unhelpful. They know I can prove all of the above.

Very nice consultation at the factory, and choice was really good.
Our summerhouse was delivered on time and exactly to spec!
The installation team were courteous and professional.We are very pleased with everything, and get even more from our decking area now!
