Brilliant removal service from Shires. They arrived a day before the move to start loading up, then carried on all the next day from about 8-7 (it was a full lorry), and even called for back up from another team who had finished earlier, to help with unloading. They were really careful with all items, no damage and even helped to fix some of our furniture where screws etc had come loose prior to loading onto the lorry. Really polite and friendly too, would definitely recommend.

Second time to use Shires Removals for another overseas removal. Same as last time, great service, very helpful staff, nothing broken, damaged or lost. Very happy with whole experience - wrapping, packing and delivering. Oh, and wardrobes dismantled and rebuilt. Next move will be in 2022 and it will be Shires again!

Shires moved us from UK to Portugal, with six months storage in between. Everybody was very professional and although there were new rules for moving to the EU after Brexit, which made the paperwork trickier, it all went well. Thanks to all involved, but especially to Lesley for coping with the bureaucracy, and Sam and Brent for unloading on a very, very hot day.

From the visit to prepare a quote through to the support provided by the office and the team on the day Shires have been great. Very professional, friendly, helpful and good value with good communication. I am confident that my goods in storage will be well looked after too.

Was recommended to use these, fantastic polite service, from office staff to removal men, nothing was too much trouble. Initial price quoted was charged at a little more but this was expected, as moving out and into storage was longer and we didn't use as mony storage containers, but was pleased with charge and it was fair Would definitely use again if I have to move. Thank you very much for an efficient move you were brilliant.

Very Disappointed.
The quote was the highest we received, but we do believe in 'you get what you pay for' so we accepted. The team showed up on time but soon informed us they had no wardrobes on board as no one had told them. The need for wardrobes was clearly discussed in the quote. They then informed us that the had no tools for dismantling, even though it was clearly stated on the top page of the contract they asked us to sign. The lads informed us it was a cushy job as we didn't have much to move. When we had a problem at the delivery point which could easily have been righted the company said they couldn't help as they didn't have time. Don't see why if it was a 'cushy job !!!
I would rather carry my furniture on my back than use these again

Brilliant experience from start to finish. We had a two day move which Lesley squeezed in to help us out before the stamp duty deadline - she and Mandy were so helpful and friendly we knew we were onto a good thing. Brent and Shaun made moving out day so easy (I think the bacon butties helped), and then Brent and Lee did a great job of moving us in. Friendly and professional- highly recommend.

An utterly appalling experience heaped upon us by uncaring, rude, and frankly some disgusting team crews (not all but a good few)

Absolutely fantastic. We've used them twice. First time quick and efficient. Today's removal didn't go to plan however the guys moving were polite and persevered and nothing too much trouble. Problem solving, tight spaces spaces willingness second to none. In the end 2/3 of our possessions have had to go into storage with them (problem with rental) and organised at short notice. Will use them again, for the 3rd time when we actually get our belongings into our new house. Thanks ever so much Danny and man! You've been my besties today.

A great service from start to finish! The guys worked really hard and were helpful, polite and great to work with. I'd definitely recommend Shires.

I was exchanging and completing on the same day, I spoke to Mandy who was really helpful over the previous week as we didn't know until the last minute if we needed a van.
On the morning of the move Billy and Gareth arrived and were very efficient at getting the furniture out of our flat, 2 floors up with no lift and they didn't complain!! They then arrived at our new property ready to unload when we'd completed.
Throughout they remained polite and professional, I can't rate them highly enough.

Brilliant service from shires removals from start to finish, very accommodating, Danny and Josh were the guys on the day they were absolutely fantastic ,worked really hard and we're very patient as they had to wait 4 hours until we got keys for new house and weather was rubbish that day but they just kept smiling through it all ,thanks Danny and Josh ,and all at shires would recommend them to any one👍

1 issue on the Friday the week before we had to postpone the move (goods in storage), they were closed at 1730 so called first thing Monday the week previous and got hit with a £350 bill because it wasn’t a weeks notice!
So calling before they closed on Friday no bill calling first thing Monday £350, feel a bit cheated especially after they asked if they could do the delivery 3 working days earlier.
Be careful with these guys.

All staff were extremely helpful. Having called the head office a few times each member of staff was very efficient ans friendly.
The two men who helped moved us were friendly polite and professional. They really cared for our belongings and made sure not to mark any walls or furniture.
I would highly recommend.

I left it a while before I wrote this review but I am still very annoyed with the behaviour of this company and believe my experience needs to be shared.
To start with the guys who actually do the removals are great although there were a few breakages which I still haven't been contacted about over a month later. My issue is with the admin/booking team. I had my removals booked in with them for the 4th of January, unfortunately I caught covid (NHS worker) and as soon as I had had my test we rang shires to inform them of this. At the time they just said ok we will contact you about a new date. Nobody came back to us so we rang them the day we should have been moving to discuss only to be told that we had lost out "deposit", which was actually the full payment amount and would need to pay the whole sum of money again to rebook as we didn't give them enough notice (we gave as much as we could). Now to me £390x2 for an hour and ten minutes work is ridiculous (plus the money they got for also moving my brother). Safe to say I will never use this company again or recommend it to anyone I know.

The gentleman who qouted was excellent and inspired me to book with them as he was extremely knowledgeable regarding our needs
The administration staff were also excellent with all my queries
The removal men were also excellent with nothing being too much trouble
I have no hesitation in recommending this company without reservation particualry as we moved in the middle of a pandemic and we aboth over 70
