Lack of communication is the key problem with consigning with this company.I gave a pair of Chanel boots, received email suggesting they price at £300 and I would receive £150, I agreed. No information when they would go live, but when I searched I found them priced at £346. They sold quickly but no update about this, when I contacted Sign of the Times they told me they sell too much stuff to have time to inform their customers:) I received my £150 6 weeks later.. next time I’ll donate to charity!

Effective communication, good price and quality products
We bought a ski helmet and goggles from Sign of the Times, and we couldn’t be happier. We needed it in a hurry, and it arrived in record time (two days before a school ski trip). Our purchase arrived carefully packaged and was exactly as expected; maybe better than expected actually, as I had never used this store and was unsure of what to expect. Effective communication, good price and quality products. Our experience was great and we happily recommend Sign of the Times.
the Entrupy Certificate was not genuine
the Entrupy Certificate was not genuine.
Although the certificate link provided takes you to the actual Entrupy website, you get a different number when you copy paste the same digital certificate which in turn is not recognised on the Entrupy website. I have researched to confirm such a case means that a genuine Entrupy certificate has been manipulated. My order was cancelled before the shipment has even left the Sign of Times premises because the latter could not explain the fact that the number I get is different when I copy paste it. she instead insisted that I should only use the link whereas Entrupy confirmed I should get the same number and result when I use the link or copy paste the number on their site. I have all evidence saved.

Unethical and misleading sales prices
I have followed SOTT for many years HOWEVER I have noticed on several occasions that when items go on sale the previous list price is incorrect. Therefore a 20% sale reduction is a mere £25 reduction not the £200 stated. I therefore have legal/ethical concerns over this company as sellers should ensure previous prices were genuine, legitimate prices to avoid misleading customers. I would not deal with a company deliberately misleading consumers. I did reach out to obtain an answer and they never replied despite advising I would be contacted. I would not support an unethical company and neither should you.

Don’t Trust This Company With Your Designer Items
They may be fine at selling items, but trusting them with your belongings is a mistake. I had a terrible experience. I consigned a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes worth $1,500. After signing on their iPad, I heard nothing for over a month. When I followed up, they kept delaying. Finally, in early February, they told me the shoes had been sold- without ever confirming the price with me.
They claimed they had emailed me, but the email address was incorrect and my surname was missing. Their system conveniently showed my signature, yet they proceeded without proper consent. They now say the shoes sold for £100 but I was never given the chance to approve.
This was my first and last experience with them. I’ve worked with Loop Generation in Draycoat avenue for years and never had an issue. My advice: don’t give your clothes to this company. Your belongings and money are not safe. Stick with reputable, well-reviewed platforms instead.

Be aware -misleading prices
I bought a Cartier piece during the black week. The stated RRP on Sign of the Times website and in their store was GBP 2400. whereas they priced it GBP 2200 . After the purchase i learned that the RRP in Cartier stores is GBP 1990. Which means a customer could have bought this £200 above the price of a brand new item with all documents.
It is illegal to mislead customers and I adressed the issue to the management.
I attach the answer:

As a pre-loved retailer, our items are priced according to the secondary market, and luxury brands such as Cartier also review and adjust their retail prices periodically. RRPs can therefore vary depending on timing, market and specific model or size, which can result in differences when compared with prices seen elsewhere.»

It is obvious that being in the second hand business , they should be completely be aware that Cartier prices does not fluctuate downwards, as they have yearly incrased their prices over the last decades. The store claim that since I made the purchase with a discount , I still paid below the RRP.
My saving was minimum, about 400 GBP Even bought with a 30% discount , the item did not have any papers, certificates etc, and I would obviosly bought a new pair given that minimum saving . The item is available in Cartier stores to buy, no waiting list or client relation needed.
I am now filing a complaint with the local Trading Office for investigation. The law states that it is illegal to mislead pricing.
I have been told by my legal Advisor that I have strong grounds for complaint, and I hope by bringing this case further to the appropriate authorites, and if they find that Sign of the Times is in breach with the law, which can result in a fine, they will take their pricing policy more serious so that other customers can trust the services provided and will not be mislead. I have sendt several email tried to solve and glose the case in a friendly matter, the pricing gap was £ 400 , I proposed a compensation of £250
They offered me £20 .
This is so sad , vintage stores are such a valuable contribution to sustainability, but trust is essential in this business. I have been shopping several items at this store, but obviosly for the last time. It is completely normal to make mistakes, Sign of the Times is unfortunatly is not willing to nor admit nor accomodate .

I caught them lying and demanded all my pieces back. They were going to rip me off massively. And such bad communication.
Be wary. Check everything they say if you decide to proceed (or better yet go elsewhere - lots of secondhand shop buy items).
