I strongly advise caution before using SJS Legal for housing disrepair claims. They explicitly asked me to leave a review before my case was even closed, which likely explains the high volume of five-star ratings they have on this platform.
During the process, I felt heavily pressured to accept the lowest possible compensation offer. Furthermore, they failed to enforce the disrepair contract upon payout, ultimately leaving me, the tenant, to chase the landlord to get the actual repairs done.
Financially, their fee structure is exceptionally steep. In my case, they took a 49% cut (over £600) plus an additional fee, which did not reflect the amount of work actually done.
When I raised a formal complaint regarding this poor service, the firm was highly defensive. Rather than taking accountability, they seemed offended that I challenged them and provided every excuse imaginable. I would not recommend them.

Ste Watson handled our disrepair case. He was brilliant from the start communicating often and letting us know what was happening throughout. I will suggest the company to friends and family that may need the services in the future. Overall our experience was really good considering what we are going through and made everything alot smoother.

For the last 2 and a half years I've been living in my property which led to untold leaks from the flat upstairs. It finally got resolved in January this year 2025 while I was in hospital having major surgery. The solicitors who handled my case was brilliant and managed to get what I wanted. I would certainly recommend them and use them again if I need to.
