The event wasn't quite what I expected
The event wasn't quite what I expected. The first artist lacked the intimate 'Sofar vibe' I’ve experienced in the past and didn't really engage with the audience. It was loud and pointless. Additionally, regarding the singles aspect, I think these events work better when tailored to specific age groups; an 'all ages' approach felt a bit counterproductive. Not too many people either

Good vibes all around
It was a pleasure to work with Brenda from SoFar and the fellow artists who performed at Soul Sundays. Everyone was kind, the evening was organized but relaxed at the same time. The audience were very welcoming and came off as music lovers in the purest form.

Great experience!
All of the artist were great! The venue was also really cool. Lamar Creation was the first artist and it was his first time performing with sofar sounds. I hope he gets picked again to perform because I really enjoyed how he engaged with the audience and his performance was great!

Great way to spend 4/20
The event was great—slightly crowded, but overall a really fun experience. I loved Gotham Dispensary as the venue; it was a perfect setting to hang out with fellow stoners and enjoy the calm, hypnotic music. The food options, like fries and chicken tenders, were a nice touch. That said, milkshakes were announced at the beginning of the event but were never mentioned again, and they seemed to run out quickly, with only staff getting them. It would’ve been nice if that had been communicated more clearly. My high self was sad that they were offered and then not delivered. The goodie bags were cute, and the branded matches were a great touch!

Loved the Broadway edition
Amazing as always, but as someone that has been going to Sofar Sounds for over 10 years, and hadn't gone for a while, it was really surprising to me how expensive it's gotten. It used to be free (donation based). While I understand there's costs associated with this, it always felt like a community-led event, where everyone chipped in and everyone benefited. Now that it's paid, that feels a bit lost; and, given how expensive it's gotten, it also feels less accessible.

The donation model worked when shows were small, volunteer-run, and operating on a shoestring. As Sofar grew into a proper global operation paying artists fairly, building out production, and running shows in 300+ cities, moving to ticketed shows was what made it possible to keep going at all.
Our shows now span a wide range of formats and price points, but the secret lineup, the unexpected space, the room full of strangers who end up connecting — that's still what we build every show around. We're really glad you're back, and we hope the next one feels as special as your first.

Incorrect timing in emails.
I got an email saying the shoe will start at 8pm, and the door open the 7: 30pm. But turns out there was another email when the venue was revealed the time was mentioned to 4: 30pm. In that email there was no clear highlighting the time has changed. And due to this I missed 70% of the show.

I liked the environment
I liked the environment. The little snack area. That there were three acts. The owners and host of the show did their best to make the event welcoming and entertaining in their interventions.
Three breaks were too many for me. Always having to take extra time to call people back to their seats. Starting each act late as a result. Even though there were three acts, I felt like the 1st and 2nd were not really different from one another. I was hoping for more diversity in the music, gender and ethnicity of the artists. We had three white males (2 locals). Nothing wrong with that but not very diverse. The first act was fine, with a couple of okay songs. The 2nd act was a huge disappointment, the singer was yelling most of the time and not singing well at all. The last act was fun, and interactive, he tapped into different genres by himself which was appreciated.
It was my first Sofar experience. I’m a fan and have been watching online so far. So without that last act, it would have been a total disappointment. I felt like the tickets were overpriced for this specific event. Maybe it’s just a one off situation, other events might be more enjoyable music wise.

Actually the weather was good enough…
Actually the weather was good enough for an outside occasion. I understood that you did not want to risk but the place was very small. Moreover, if it had been in a house, you would offer beer but in this place we had to buy it. Like these situations maybe you should consider cheaper tickets. And the most important point is the ones who perform. Some of the performers was a bad experience and the people around us thought the same. Despite all these negative details, experiencing sofar is nice. Thanks.
