I’ve been using other bags to fulfil both running and commuting and most do one well but only Stolt does both

The commute run is about bringing a little lightness and good energy into the world, and this pack becomes part of that ritual. It carries exactly what you need — laptop, shoes, change of clothes — without ever feeling overbuilt.
The side zip and roll-top opening make access simple and intuitive. No fighting the bag when you’re tired or moving fast. Everything feels considered.
The bottle storage works properly, with webbing that keeps the bottles secure and stops them sinking into the pockets while running. The zipped pockets on the straps are a small but important detail too — enough confidence to leave keys and AirPods in there without thinking twice, while still having space for gels.
What stands out most is the comfort. The wider straps spread the load evenly across the shoulders and back, creating almost no bounce, even when the pack is full.
The materials feel premium without trying too hard. Durable, lightweight, understated. Nothing feels unnecessary. Every detail has a purpose.

Stolt has a range of products for various run-commute needs. I opted for the 4L performance vest as it was perfect for my personal items and daily essentials during longer outings. The fit and comfort are the unique selling points for me. Using this in a recreational capacity over a significant distance (100km), I can genuinely say that the vest was stable, requiring no adjustments whatsoever throughout the event and remaining consistently comfortable over many demanding hours. The neckline (which can irritate with other brands) was snug and smooth. Top quality at a competitive price.

The Stolt aftermarket care is sublime, the owners really care about the runners perspective and opinion. Highly recommended.

The Stolt Athlete Bag has become my go-to commuter bag throughout training for my 100k it’s smart, practical, and genuinely built for balancing training with everyday life.

It handled everything from laptop and work essentials to run kit, recovery gear and spare layers without ever feeling bulky or overcomplicated.

For race day, I used the Athlete Ultra Light and it was exactly what I wanted from an ultra vest: lightweight, comfortable, no bounce, and easy access to nutrition and essentials even deep into the race.

What also stands out is the company itself who are a genuinely great, friendly team who clearly understand runners and what we actually need from our gear.

Both bags got properly tested over months of training and a 100k finish. Couldn’t recommend enough!!!

Concept is great. Had an issue with the internal lining of the backpack breaking down after a little bit over a year of use.

Inquired about warranty coverage which took some time but was eventually able to get a replacement bag sent.

I recently bought the Stolt backpack and have loved using it over the past few weeks. I was looking for a bag that I could use to run in to work - other running packs were too small and normally backpacks were the right size but uncomfortable to run with - but the Stolt bag has been a perfect fit.

I purchased the ultralight backpack. It was well described on the website so i knew what to expect. It is a really high quality product that I expect to last for many years. Importantly it is well designed, making it incredibly comfortable in use, and convenient with a nice closure and easy access zip.

I have been using the Stolt Hydration Vest for the past month for marathon training. Fantastic fit, balance, and quality.

The pocket design gives plenty of storage for energy gel packets and a mobile phone. The back compartment is a perfect fit for a shell, as to have it after a run.

The soft flasks are great and, for me, in the perfect position on the vest while running. Overall a fantastic product that takes into account design and function.

Incredible customer service for a smaller business, the founder emailed frequently with updates and problem solved a couple of issues with me. I gifted one to my friend and have used another myself. These are amazingly high quality rucksacks. I’ve put my rucksack through a number of runs and many a commute since Oct 24. In my experience they really care about their customers and I’m really pleased with my purchase. The attention to detail in the design is fantastic. Lots of practical compartments. I was also worried about how the rucksack would sit around my body particularly as a shorter woman and I can confirm it’s very comfortable and secure. I can also fit my laptop and some papers in the back pocket comfortably. Definitely worth the investment.

I’ve been a loyal Stolt customer since I bought my first backpack six years ago. The Alpha backpack has been around Europe with me and still looks as good as new.

It’s perfect for my day to day commute; taking a change of clothes for night’s out; and for overnight or ‘travelling light’ weekends away.

It’s clear from the quality of the materials, the design, comfort and features and attention to detail that Stolt backpacks are designed by runners for runners. And they look great too!

That’s what’s made me a repeat customer. I now mix up using my Alpha and the smaller Podium, depending on my day. (My teenage son has the Athlete model for college - it’s not often that he copies me!).

As a relative newcomer to ultra running, I was delighted that Stolt have launched hydration backpacks. I’ve just roadtested my new Athlete Ultralight. It absolutely hits the spot for a light, robust and practical pack for training and events. Looking forward to clocking up lots of miles with it.

After my review here (guess I could have contacted Customer Service...) I got a call from the company - apparently there had been an issue on their backend and my order was missed.

Fast forward two days, and the backpack is here... and I can start run commuting! Grateful for the quick resolution and the backpack looks great - will feed back on how it feels to run with.

I originally purchased the Commuter Backpack in November 2023 and recently picked up the performance hydration vest. Both products are excellent - I run / bike with the backpack to work but also use it as my general work bag. It fits very comfortably and securely when running. The vest is really well designed and fits great. Customer service throughout both experiences with Stolt was exceptional.

I ordered the Athlete Ultralight shortly after release and have been absolutely loving it - perfectly fits a laptop and a change of clothes for my commute. The pockets in the straps are perfect for all the odd bits you need access to on a run and it's great even in the rain.

Extremely helpful team - they went out of their way to help me get what I needed on time. The Athlete bag is brilliant!
