From day one Solar Together were quick to respond and helpful with every query.
Being in a conservation area planning permission was required and while I had to do most of the work their liason with the Planning staff was very useful.
The scaffolding took about an hour to erect the day before and the installation of ten panels on the front facing roof, plus inverter, battery and wiring in the garage was completed on the day.
Apart from having to go into the attic every thing was done outside. The staff were quick, cheerful, asked for nothing and did a neat job. The cost was competative.
I'm very pleased with the result and even in a cold wet January I generated most of what I needed.

A great way to get a good deal on solar
A really easy way to ensure you get a great deal on solar installation without having to go through comparing multiple installers. Once the contractor was appointed our installation happened in a matter of weeks. We are very happy with everything.

Numerous issues experienced with the…
Numerous issues experienced with the supplier selected from solar together to install solar panels. Very little support in resolving issues in helping for a timely resolution.
Supplier selection and duration diligence severely lacking as the company selected had no proper processes, complaints or escalation process inplace so amazed how they could be selected to undertake the work. I went through this process on the assumption all of this would have been adequately checked with suppliers- it clearly was not.

We hold our participating installers to rigorous standards, including financial stability and technical certifications. We are concerned to hear your feedback regarding this specific supplier’s internal processes, as this does not align with the service level we expect.
While we facilitate the auction and selection process, the contract for work is directly between the homeowner and the installer. When disputes arise, we aim to mediate; however, if an installer remains unresponsive or unable to resolve the issue, we refer customers to the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC) to ensure you have access to formal legal and consumer protection.
Your experience provides us with critical data. We are currently reviewing this supplier’s performance and their future eligibility for our programs based on your report.
We know this doesn't change the delays you've already experienced, but please know your feedback is being used to tighten our selection criteria moving forward.

Price and end product
Price and end product - great, we have 11 panels and battery for just over 6000, brilliant. We now think more in the battery line would help in the future. The contractor, who had 500 jobs to do, struggled somewhat with admin. However, the weather was awful, icy and rainy alternately, so we don't entirely blame them for the troubles, and our fit was delayed by one piece of equipment not being delivered for the fitters, so the job was part done on Xmas eve and we waited until into the New Year for completion. Now we are still waiting for any real sun!

Really good apart from the fixing of…
Really good apart from the fixing of the bracket for the battery. It would appear that a hammer drill was used to fix one of the bolts which took the face off a brick - In overcoming that they manged to bend the bracket and it's not as clean a job as it could be. Shame that I had to find this out myself and it wasn't owned up to at the time.

Four attempts needed to get system installed
Whilst I am very happy with the final product and the overall scheme, our experience of the fitting process was very poor. It took four visits from the roofing and electrical team over the course of one month to get the system installed. Initially they claimed the scaffolding was unsafe and needed repositioning, but when it was going to cost them more money, they miraculously managed to fit the panels after all. The provider was very poor at keeping in contact only responding via email rather than phone despite numerous requests and one time the fitters didn’t turn up at all on a day they had promised.

Solar panel & battery pack installation Jan 2026
we were very pleased with the complete process from the first contact to the final completion of the installation. we were surprised at how much we saved on the price of the complete installation compared to other estimated prices we looked at. the winning contractors were very helpful & there quote was broken down to show everything & the options for different battery packs & an EV charger if you wanted them. we already had an EV charger but this meant that by adding the battery pack it means that during the winter months we can top up the battery overnight on our cheap EV Tarif & this means we can still use the battery for most of our needs during the day instead of using power from the grid.

Solar Together is a very human and helpful company to work with on important home improvements.
I chose Solar Together after receiving a flyer from my local council, who are working with a number of partners to promote a variety of work to minimise energy costs for householders. We chose solar panels + battery storage. The application was easy. It was followed by a survey which produced a proposal for our property. I liked the fact it had four different options so that I could judge which would be best. I had time, access to real people at the end of the phone to check details with. the proposals were detailed, accessible and clear. there was no pressure and clearly signposted points at which I could end the process if I wasn't satisfied. I was and went ahead. The fitting went smoothly, with scaffolding and the electrical installation all on time. The complete installation took two days, with the scaffolding down on the fourth day. Everything was clear, tracked by the central office and a dedicated adviser I could phone for any checks and questions. I always had queries sorted out then and there and no waits on hold - ever. This was a very positive experience, where I was treated as a valuable customer. Every step was clearly explained. Every employee that worked on my job was polite, professional and great to have working at my home. There was even help to install the app that monitors the electricity generation and use. This is a company I would go back to if I wanted to upgrade at any point. It was really a stress free installation.

Job well done
Solar Together Scheme via Central Bedfordshire was the push we needed to get solar panels. The process from survey to install was explained on a step by step action from The Solar Bureau.
Although the surveyors gave us quotes initially for 7, 8, and 9 panels plus battery. We settled upon the installation of 11 panels and battery.
After the installation and a sweep up in the back garden we discovered a small number of electrical offcuts. (We have pets so this could have been an issue).
The FOX monitoring application is easy to use, very user friendly and there are plenty of YouTube videos if you get stuck.
