Well after quite an amount of chivvying!
Well after quite an amount of chivying, it was finally installed on 15th December (over six months after registering and making the initial deposit). The scaffoflders arrived on the appointed day, and the installation was done qjuickly and politely.
Only marred by the scaffolders who broke my gate lintel, did not tell me about it, and seemed to have made no move to repair it, which is I hope will be addressed.
I am very happy to have the panels at last, being waiting for years to be to do so!

PV Solar via collective Council bid
A slow process of getting PV Solar panels via a collective council bid - and I was initially sceptical BUT the provider (UPS Solar) patiently answered all questions before and after the installation and the installation went smoothly.
It is worth realising - for those romantics like I was - that the idea of 'charging your electric car directly when in the Summer the sun is shining does not work in practice, as the average PV solar battery is no more than a fifth of an average electric vehicle and it would take sig longer to charge via the panels compared with an EV charger (7.5 kWh compared with average hourly output of PV at less than 5 kWh). So it makes sense to use cheap off-peak/ night tariffs and export excess daytime PV energy to the grid ...

Great experience
From getting a quote to having a fully functional solar panel and battery the process was simple. All the various stages were clearly explained by all involved. The installation took place during some really bad weather but was completed only a couple of days later than scheduled.

Sustain Homes some good parts
Sustain Homes were very good about making sure I got good advice about my solar battery install.
The survey was done and this seemed to go well, but some of the information that was given was incorrect (the battery could be hung on the wall and not on the ground).
When the installers came they were given no information from the surveyor, but they could still install the battery.
This company is based in Kent and have expanded out to Dorset and Hampshire. I suspect they had lots of work on their hands.
It took 2 weeks to get someone to return my call about 'getting the best from this new system', but once I got a call they were very helpful.

Installation went well but scaffold removal took too long, I have also had to ring about a cover for the battery and inverter but am still waiting even though I have rang them a few times

First rate
From initial quote to final installation everything was very smooth. We were kept informed of progress and installation date was brought forward and larger battery capacity at no extra cost. Installer was excellent and helped resolve few minor initial issues.

Straight forward with the backing of my local council.
Easy to understand with clear information as to how the selection process was going.
The company chosen were proactive, visited our property, carried out a survey & answered all our questions.
Installation was smooth & the guys were polite with minimal disruption.
Any post installation problems or queries have been sorted or answered quickly.

Curate’s Egg.
The fitting and installation by the contractors went well. Communication with Solar Together was difficult. Many calls unanswered, and messages ignored. Connection to the Grid took an enormously long time. But the job got done in their timeframe.

Good to have a selected supplier
Good to know that the company was vetted for its suitability, equipment suitability and pricing (with no hidden extras).
Two phase install, first the scaffolding and second the roof panels, battery, inverter and cabling (with a 48 hr break between the two).
The scaffolding was removed 3 days later
Delivery dates were short and they were adhered to.
All installation personnel were polite, approachable and communicated well.
Work was well done and tidy; the site was cleared after installation.
The working of the equipment was explained to us.
We had an issue with the connection of an existing EV point to the new equipment
The company "owned" the problem and took it to a successful conclusion.
All in all a worthwhile experience.

Paperwork Too complex
The installation was prompt and efficient although a window was left open which caused water to enter the loft space.
Having had the panels for a month now all seems to be working well.
The follow up advice with so many documents was confusing and it took an age to register with my electricity supplier. This process must be made much more user friendly; I am aware that part of the problem is that so many different agencies are involved but I am a fairly intelligent man and it was an awful process. There must be some who cannot manage to do it at all.
