Terrible service, no one contacts you back, no matter how many messages, emails or query forms you fill in. Paid for two Credit References for potential tenants, to date I still have not received anything from them, I've got the tenants asking if everything is OK so that they can move into the property, but I have no information from BLA. The phone number listed has no one at the other end and they do not reply to voicemails. Complete joke of a company. I would suggest if you need a Credit Reference for a potential tenant, do not choose this company. They just take your money and you literally get nothing in return.

Shockingly bad service.

Can't contact anyone! Emails and calls go unanswered. What is the point?

The website is shocking - not at all user friendly or functional. Even my account is stated to be in the name of a total stranger.

Also I am having difficulty cancelling my subscription. Can someone please help me at least to do this?

I am so disappointed with the service I have received from BLA. I joined in December as I had a six-bed HMO to rent out with tenants imminently moving in. I paid for two credit checks in the days running up to Christmas and I received no response at all. I called the office consistently, leaving messages asking for somebody to contact me. I emailed asking for help and support and I heard nothing back. I had to go and join the NLA instead to be able to obtain the credit checks enabling me to facilitate the tenants moving in. Since Christmas, I have phones again and again leaving countless messages without success. I emailed my disappointment and asked for a refund on my membership and the two credit check's I had paid for. Still, I received NO response. Yesterday I called again on 21st January. Finally, a gentleman answered the phone. I calmly expressed my disappointment only to be told that it was my fault because I had not signed up for the newsletter. Apparently, that would have told me they were closed over Christmas. He proceeded to say he was unable to contact me because of GDPR. I am shocked that rather than an apology for such poor service, I was told it was MY fault. I have received a refund today, but not for the full amount owed. Sadly I will continue to use the NLA from now on and I hope that perhaps the staff at the BLA take on board my above comments, however, after my call I don't hold out much hope.

I can highly recommend the British Landlord Association. They offer a welcome helping hand. Saj, in particular, was caring. He gave me sound advice when I was having a difficult time with a manipulative tenant. If you are new to the business, they will guide you through all your legal obligations, which makes life so much easier, later on, once you have fully established your business.

I spoke to Sarge. As an experienced solicitor, he was on the pulse. Without any hesitation. He was clear and without cost. highly recommended.

I was utterly impressed with the way Sarge supported me through a very difficult situation with squatters. He provided excellent information with the paperwork needed for our court case and how to ensure it would be dealt with swiftly, he also advised on how we could reduce the court fees which were waived and was even available on the phone on the day of the eviction. I would definitely recommend the BLA, they were spot on and very efficient. Thank you Sarge and team from a very grateful person who finally got their home back, couldn't have done it without you.

I joined the British Landlord Association & needed some guidance regarding timescale in providing our tenants with a new central heating boiler. I spoke with Sarge who listened to the actions I’d taken to date and gave assurance that these were correct, he also provided guidance on how to offer further support and reminded me to document actions taken. This was an extremely helpful conversation.

I've recently had a bad experience with a nightmare tenant. I was ill advised by other lawyers who weren't expert in their field. BLA advice was completely different and encouraging. The matter is now in hand.

An excellent service for novice and experienced landlords. The legal advice service was extremely helpful in understanding the complex procedures involved in attempting to evict a problem tenant in COVID times and it was completely free. They say that something that appears to be too good to be true usually is but seems not to be the case with the BLA.

I recently became a member of this organisation and subsequently called for advice. I cannot reccommend them highly enough as they have given me exemplary advice, which was free. This concerned a tenant who is in serious rent arrears and my letting agent who it would appear hasn’t performed due diligence with regard to vetting and references.

I am a member of the British Landlord Association. I have found their advice extremely useful, and it's absolutely free! Would definitely recommend.
