Terrible, terrible, terrible. The highest pressure sales tactics, over promising, and severely under performing. Started with Faye, but no longer with them right after the sale. Probably got fired. She sold me the Rogers Family plan where the 3rd and 4th line with 60Gb data is $20 and $15 respectively. Instead, it'll cost me $35 and $55. She gave the wrong instructions at every step of the way to switch from Fido to Rogers, plus in the end, she only made the switch for 3 numbers instead of 4. The 4th line is nowhere to be found. Chang desperately tried to rectify the disaster that Faye left, but couldn't. I had to deal with Rogers directly which was a complete shyte show. Each of the 3 times I called Rogers cost me as much as 2 3/4 hours. The final straw that broke my back is that the manager Geofferey also couldn't get the $15/mth 4th line since the promotion has ended. Instead, it's going to cost me $55/mth. Never, ever, go there again. Bunch of incompetent fools.

Don’t think I will be using The Mobile Shop Again.
Myself and my extended family have used the Mobile shop for at least 10 cellphone contracts that were successful BUT this time was abysmal. My brother, my wife and I signed up for 3 new contracts this past Black Friday. This google review represents one of those contracts. We were VERY clear we wanted to own our phones out right with no payout or fees at the end of the contract, AND, we were absolutely assured this was the case, REPEATEDLY!. The agent (who was in fact the store manager) even pointed at the sales receipt, (the only paper document we received that day), and said and showed “see, fully financed”. All was good until we got our first bill and it showed a Save and Return fee of $279. (That’s $837 for all 3 phones…not chump change.) So checking back on Page 5 in the fine print of our Contract emailed to us, sure enough it even said so. Unfortunately, what we signed was not representative of what the agreement was. The provider would not change this, they said go back to the Mobile Shop. This was NOT at all pointed out to us when signing in the “Critical Information Summary” where we first initialed. Not only was this “slipped” in, the agent in fact assured us of the OPPOSITE! We kept clarifying this with the agent numerous times and he said you own the phone outright. We have been at this 6 months now, strung along by the agent at The Mobile Shop with misrepresentation after misrepresentation. At first he said “No, no it’s the provider’s fault” and he would “fix it.” Then it was “this fee will go away after a couple months.” Then, “But you will get “points” at the end when you renew that will cover this fee.” He never once disputed that we both knew we had all signed up for a fully financed phone plan. Then when contacting the regional manager this past week even HE refused to remove this misrepresented fee, and stood by his employee. UPDATE: After leaving a review themobileshop.ca offered a "one-time goodwill accommodation. As a gesture of goodwill" of $100 in points...and denied ANY misrepresentation. Sorry your guy TOTALLY misrepresented the facts to our faces here! It is still not resolved, and now the manager from that store has “moved on”, go figure? I don’t think I will ever do business with the Mobile Shop again and in my opinion, NOR SHOULD YOU. It doesn’t matter the amount of free points you might get, this is simply not worth the headache! If you cannot trust the words that come out of the person supposed to be representing your provider, or trust the management to correct a fault, then I can’t understand how a contract can be enforceable when it is so misrepresented. I am in the process of gathering what I need to file a complaint with the CCTS, which unfortunately goes straight to the provider, not The Mobile Shop who bungled this up.
Andrew took his time, even though they officially closed at 8pm 'got there at 8:05pm" he took his time to help me and get set up on one of the best data plans going, shoutout to Andrew and Karine!
Misleading advertising – avoid this store
This was an extremely frustrating experience and a complete waste of time.
Their website advertises a $45 plan for Rogers and Bell. I called and was explicitly told the price was $45 and advised to go to a store to activate.
I first contacted the store inside Fortinos at 8585 Hwy 27, where the plan was confirmed on the phone. When I arrived, the price suddenly changed to $50, with the excuse that the $45 plan is only for existing Rogers customers — a condition never mentioned online or on the phone.
I then contacted the store inside Loblaws at 301 High Tech Road. The representative, again confirmed the $45 plan and told me to come in. After a 40-minute commute and going through the entire setup, I was told at the very end the price was $50, this time because the $45 plan is supposedly only for bank and government employees.
Two stores. Same plan. Two different excuses.
This is not a misunderstanding — it’s misleading and a waste of customers’ time. Do not walk, run away from this store.
Sales rep did everything to try and sneak sales into my purchase of a new plan. I caught most of it but he got away with adding a device protection plan through Likewize under the guise that it’s free for a few months.
I wasn’t asked and didn’t notice it was added until all was said and done then I noticed and questioned him. He said it was free for a few months then I can call and cancel. (Like thank you, I really wanted to have to remember to call and cancel a service I didn’t ask for??)
Got around to doing that and learned I’ve been paying $12.99/month since the day the phone was set up. For a service I didn’t ask for, didn’t want and would’ve never agreed to if he didn’t sneak it in. Just be cautious. It’s not a sales technique, it’s full on misleading.
I’d like to give a shout out to Joban at the Penticton, BC Mobile Shop. Not only was he knowledgeable and efficient, he went above and beyond in helping to fix the gaff made by the internet company he was representing at the time. Joban spent several hours on my behalf for a mistake made by someone else (not me, thankfully) and then ensured I was satisfied and even arranged further compensation through the store his shop is based within. Kudos and more kudos and I will absolutely do future business at this Mobile Shop. Thank you, Joban.
The manager at the mobile shop inside mcphillips superstore was by far the best individual that I have dealt with in a very long time. Her customer service is truly outstanding and out of this world. Her knowledge, patience and service top notch. I would recommend this young lady to everyone. Maribel’s Thank you so much for your time, and all your help . You rock 😊
Falguni,Arun and Drashti at Eramosa Zehrs store in Guelph store #538 are an amazing team. They were really helpful in finding me the best plan. The Boxing Day promo’s decreased my monthly bill for our phones over $120 a month. Wow. They were so professional and took time to explain everything to me. So happy to have had my experience with this wonderful team.
What a fantastic experience with the assistance of Dharm and Mandeep. These 2 guys were just outstanding to deal with. They exceeded all of the customer service expectations with us and then some. We highly recommend them for the very most honest and informative advice. Go and talk to them. 6/5 rating. Thanks guys!
Noah helped me select the best plan for what I needed. I did not feel like he was trying to sell me anything I didn’t want and it was great to have so many choices. I definitely recommend the mobile shop over going to a cellphone company and trying to figure out which one is the best on your own.
I get the fastest and most efficient solutions for my phones from Zeeshan at the Loblaws location _glen Erin. He gives the best deals and converts my Pc optimum points to a useful savings on my purchase
Romit at the store in Courtenay was super helpful, polite and efficient. I am not techie at all and he explained everything clearly and patiently.
My entire family shopped at the mobile shop until one of their employees blatantly lied to my young adult daughter purchasing a phone for the first time. Stating it came with unlimited international minutes. After calling her friend in America she recieved her bill a week later and the bill was astronomical. We contacted The mobile shop in which they claimed this person had done this several times for sales and was fired but they did nothing to rectify what was done even after claiming they would. Several calls and a couple of months later the new gm claimed they wouldn't be able to help. DON'T shop there or allow anyone you know to shop there. They've lost my families business and anyone I can reach. It caused my 19yr old financial hardship with how quick and how high that bill was.
Typically, I’m a loyal Superstore customer. The prices are competitive, the produce fresh, the staff are great … I’d even vote for Galen Weston if he ever ran for Prime Minister (hey, anyone who can successfully run – and grow – a big company can certainly do a better job running the country than the current yokel).
Most recently, however, I’ve had a very off-putting experience with The Mobile Shop, one of the subsidiaries of Loblaws / Superstore. Ear buds. Big deal, right? They were pretty bad. I gave them a fair try, but the damn things just wouldn’t stay in, no matter what size fitting I used (they came with small, medium, and large attachments). So, I attempted to return them. The people at the Mobile shop refused to take them back, refused to refund my $42. “All sales final,” they said (despite NOT having informed me of that at time of sale). Something about Covid and ear buds being potentially infectious?! How ludicrous. Panties, I would understand, but ear buds? (Note that I carefully cleaned everything before repackaging quite neatly.)
The parent company, Loblaws, usually so good about returns has been ominously silent on the matter.
Read the fine print before handing over your money at The Mobile Shop. “Shyster” is the word that springs to mind.
Disappeared phone and tie-up with Brightstar mishap with their North Vancouver Superstore manager. Luckily sorted out by Rogers for the disappeared almost-free LG flagship phone (turned out to be defective as a hotstpot). But, the "phone protection" monthly charge on my credit card bill sold by The Mobile Store with a "hush, a it's free case" come-on turned out to be yet-another Brightstar problem. (Check out Brightstar). My credit card customer service alleged, "yeah, we know about Brightstar - lots of problems". So, in short, I returned the phone and the case to their manager, but the billing merrily went on, until I put a stop to them. Recently, I had a conversation with a manager at this company's shop at 152nd street, who alleged that this company's inventory control system has 'loopholes' because of its 'two-step' entry system, or some such excuse. My credit card company suggested changing my credit card number because of this "experience".
