Gone bust.!!!

Unfortunately the company has gone into insolvency which is shame but there has been hardly any communication to attendees to which some have gone to the event having booked hotels onto find it’s cancelled

On Monday 30th September 2024 and after 9 years of operating SHOWTOUR Group of companies ceased trading. The directors and shareholders met and agreed that the business in its current form was no longer viable and that action to safeguard creditors should be sought in line with the Directors & Companies Duties Act 2006.

The business battled Covid closures amassing significant survival debts, since the pandemic ended the business has grown thanks to the hard work of the people behind the brand however the ongoing economic turmoil created by domestic political and global head winds have created an environment in which it is now impossible to viably operate.

The events industry is a very labour intensive sector and requires long working hours, vast pre-payments and working time spent away from home. Recent labour shortages, rises in wages as well as ever increasing fuel costs, insurance, IT and advertising costs across the business has driven basic operating costs to such a level that we’re unable to service the legacy debt promptly and operate the events as we planned to the standard we strive for. The cost of living crisis that we all feel has drastically reduced consumer spending power and affecting the volume of ticket sales, on site expenditure and customer expectation.

I would like to thank the dedicated people who have given their time and efforts to Showtour Events and been part of the journey to date. We sold experiences and memory’s which light up faces and inspire generations, from the educational arm to the entertainment events I can’t thank you enough for your service and I’m sorry that we cannot continue.

In line with our obligations we now shift to prioritising creditors whom the business owes money. We are in the process of appointing a licensed insolvency practitioner to take over the company affairs and details of who to contact will be posted below in due course.

In the mean time, all events including The Murder Trial Live, The Post Mortem Live and The Human Body Dissection due to take place have all been cancelled with immediate effect. Ticket holders should seek refund via their bank using Section 75 of the Consumer Rights Act or via Bank Chargeback.

We greatly value and appreciate all of our loyal customers over the years and we sincerely apologise for the abruptness of this announcement and the inconvenience it may cause. This is an incredibly difficult situation for everyone and your understanding and patience during this challenging time are greatly appreciated.

Company went into liquidation a week prior

The company went into liquidation and all shows were cancelled with no hope of getting our money back! Unfortunately I’m unable to give no stars!

Company went bust and cancelled all the events, had to get a refund through my bank. I'd emailed them close to event time to confirm where it was taking place and was lied to again and again!! Don't book with this company or any company linked to the owners/directors. They are stealing people's money knowing they were dead in the water!! COMPLETE SCAMMERS

Company has gone bust and not even told customers. Could take months for the bank to get my money back.

Company filed for insolvency at the end of September. No official email to let us know and we only found out the day before the event as we were trying to find out where it would be.
Even though there is no company and no event I’ve been bombarded with auto emails to ask if I’d review it and if I’d like to buy other experience!
Get your shit together!!

Terrible!

She was cancelled however we were not notified by the company itself and found out on social media

Luckily I paid for very expensive tickets by credit card so no issues in getting my money back

Then to be emailed asking for a review is just joke!!

Shocking

No communication from the very first point of booing, with a few days to go I email the company as I still had no idea where the venue was, to find out from the website they had gone into liquidation! I’m now getting bombarded with emails asking how the event went and did I want to book further events! The answer would be a big NO!!!

Event did not go ahead as the company declared itself insolvent.
No notification of this was received, luckily I checked the website a few days before.

Some research shows that this is not the first time this has happen either. Avoid anything the directors are involved in as it appears to be a scam. Action Fraud is aware.

Company did not inform over insolvency and no show

The company went bust and didn't bother to send out ant emails to let people know. We only found out because we were trying to find out where the event was going to place.

Brought tickets and hotel in April for event 2nd Nov. No specific location on ticket so once we arrived at the hotel checked the website... And the company has on their homepage all events cancelled as they've gone insolvent since 30th September.

No email from them to say it's been canceled. No automatic refund. Just the website saying to seek a refund via your card issuer... I've just raised a dispute with my bank but what about the £200 hotel or the fuel for the 200 mile round trip?

Company that is running this joke is "Showtour Events". If they survive administration I strongly recommend avoiding, the customer experience has been awful.

I didn't get to go, venue was to be confirmed which you never did, no emails, no contact whatsoever, then a notice on your page you had gone into liquidation! Then I have had to go for a refund to my card provider which I still haven't had authorised so I am £215 out of pocket, then you start sending me emails! I would advise people to STAY WELL CLEAR of you!
