Amazing week!!
Amazing week, my #1 tip would be to hire the host. It made waking everything so much easier not having to worry about food or cleaning all week and they were so fun to hang out with and provide tips. Boat was nice and everyone we met was amazing! 10/10 hoping to do it again!
Quarterdeck Academy in May 2024
Trained with Quarterdeck in May 2024. I have done multiple seasons and found it to be an incredibly toxic work environment.
You’re not placed for the full season (sometimes not even consecutive weeks) and, therefore, you are expected to fly to/from Croatia throughout the season. This was a real issue for many people not placed in Europe. I made my situation very clear to recruitment before training but I was assured it would be okay and many people were in the same boat. Most people on my training got around 6 non-consecutive weeks for the full summer if they had full availability.
Regarding pay, I would anticipate to come out on minus figures for working 50-60 hour weeks in a humid galley. In my opinion, you would HAVE to rent somewhere or have the funds to travel Europe in your first season. The pay is also 350 euros for the first 2 weeks, rather than 550 because you’re on probation.
They’re VERY big on company loyalty and how they are perceived on instagram rather than a quality service and treatment of their staff. If you work longer for the company and post about it on instagram, the more likely you are to get more assignments.
You’re assessed for an entire week, your trainer even lives on the boat with you - they asses everything you do and you get barely any free time. Even the nights out felt like a test. It is an extremely high pressure environment and they essentially set you up to fail with 2hr time limits, no equipment on board and an oven that takes 4-5x longer to cook anything.
I felt like I’d failed the training week as soon as I expressed concerns about the job role due to financial and logistical feasibility as it didn’t align with the information given to me by recruitment. I ended up having a panic attack over the environment and treatment of us as it was so mentally exhausting and not at all what I was expecting. They don't want you to express concerns, everybody who did failed the training week.
Overall, I found it hostile, belittling and pretentious - if you have a parents house or a base in Europe then I think it could be a good summer but I would not recommend it as a host. Skipping looked slightly different and felt like an academy whereas I did not feel like I gained any skills or learnt much as a host.

Antwoord van Yacht Week
Highly Recommend Yacht Week
I gave Yacht Week a 5-star review for several reasons. The booking process and app functionality are easy to navigate and informative. The company also organized high-quality events and fostered a fun atmosphere. Everyone was polite, professional, and outgoing. I would highly recommend this company.
Greatest week ever
Absolute blast of week! Incredible people incredible staff all super well organized and all you have to do is lay back and enjoy the amazing events they have put on for you! Toni was the best skipper ever and had the most incredible recommendations for food and things to do on the island and Tea was the best host ever making the most incredible meals. If you are thinking of doing it getting a host is an absolute must and worth every penny. The FAQ answer any question you may have and there were no surprises.
Life Changing
I have just completed Yacht Week Sardinia - Refined Route. Reflecting on the connections I made this past month, I wanted to express my gratitude as Yacht Week has made such a big impact on my life. I recently turned 40 so the refined week came out at a perfect time.
In 2011, I was living in Chicago and my sushi delivery guy brought me flowers one night after a delivery. He said, “Cassi, this is the fourth day I’ve delivered sushi to your apartment, you need to get out and make some friends.” That was absolutely embarrassing. Two weeks later I booked a cabin in Croatia and the rest is history. I met my husband, moved to Southern California shortly after and had my daughter – my proudest achievement.
Yacht Week Croatia 2024 was…
Yacht Week Croatia 2024 was unimaginable. From the beauty of the islands, to the warmth of the sun, and the energy of all involved it equated to a spectacular week. I have two highlights for anyone looking to do Yacht Week Croatia, get yourself a host! You will not regret it! My yacht was blessed by the welcoming from host Annika Tidd, she was amazing, hard working, fun, and engaging and enhanced the trip for all of the guests! My 2nd highlight, book tables at the clubs, it is a cheap and fun way to enjoy your drinks and make friends, on an expensive table you may spend 2000€ but split 8 ways it is really affordable considering the drinks at bars are adequately expensive as well. If you want the time of your life with great people and an amazing event crew BOOK YACHT WEEK.
PS: when you book, request Matteo as your skipper if you can, he is a local Croatian who knows the best spots and is the most genuine and kind person I met the entire trip.
2nd Yacht Week - Croatia first, this time Greece
My partner and I absolute LOVE yacht week, it is literally lightning in a bottle. The memories that we have made on our two yacht weeks are hands down the best memories of our lives. We are already planning out when we will book our 3rd and 4th yacht week. I can't really describe in words how unique the experience is, the blend of sailing, swimming, beaches, beautiful islands and island towns, shopping, dinners, and capping it all off with exclusive parties. Both Croatia and Greece are incredible, each have their unique benefits and I would recommend both routes. In addition to everything described above, its worth highlighting the professionalism in which Yacht Week puts these experiences together. The interactions with the company are professional, the communication is clear, and you feel confident that you are in good hands. All of the staff is the perfect balance of kind, professional, and fun. They are constantly making sure that the events are going as planned, everyone is safe, and best of all the vibes are high and fun maximized. Lastly, I want to shout out our skipper Orlagh, she was the absolute best! She is the golden standard of what I just described, a truly professional sailor, a kind friend, and a blast to hang out with at the dinners and parties. We are requesting Orlagh as our skipper for all future Yacht Weeks.
TLDR: I would recommend Yacht Week to anyone and everyone and I would tell them to request Orlagh as their skipper
Can't wait for the next one!
Trip of a lifetime
Amazing trip with Kate and Ashton who took extremely good care of us. The clubs were unreal and the boat parties were out of a movie. I gained 5 lbs with Kate’s cooking!!!
Second timers - already trying to book a third trip!
This was our second time doing Yacht Week and it was even better than the first time last year in Croatia - the route was fantastic, people were amazing and music was so awesome. This year we went to Greece and I would recommend this trip to anyone because it includes everything, you get swim time, city time, sailing time, it's truly the best.
Our skipper Orlagh was AMAZING, she was incredibly professional, kind, knowledgable which made the experience that much better. We would request her next time we do yacht week which we are hoping to try and schedule ASAP! Nothing beats these trips - they are the perfect blend of fun, dancing, partying and socialization.
I also want to highlight how well run they are, everything is done really thoughtfully. The route was adjusted due to weather so we were safe and only visiting islands that didn't have too much wind, you have activities that you have the option for like ATVs, wineries, etc. which makes every day special. We've done trips ourselves outside of yacht week and the logistics aren't the same, there's so much planning and Yacht week takes care of ALL that for you, it's truly a vacation.
Looking forward to BVI, Tahiti or Sardinia!
I've done 3 Yacht Weeks (2 in BVI and 1…
I've done 3 Yacht Weeks (2 in BVI and 1 in Sardinia) and they all ended being absolutely amazing! I met some incredible friends that now we're all doing travels together and it's been Epic! Get a yacht! Get a Skipper (required)! Get a Host (not required, but suggested)! Have a great time!
In Sardinia I had Diego (skipper) and Marielle (host) and both were amazing!
The Yacht Week: Sardinia
I’ll say it every time. Don’t think, just do. BOOK THE TRIP.
This was my fifth Yacht Week experience and let me tell you…they just keep getting better. The people you meet, the memories you make, the swim stops, docking locations were absolutely stunning. A big shout out to our skipper Matty and host Josh, who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time. The seas and winds can be rough in Sardinia and Matty handled it like the pro he is. From fighting for the best docking locations, to ensuring we had the best tables, Matty and Josh got it done.
I had a fantastic time…
I had a fantastic time with a crew that was so caring toward everyone on the boat. Our skipper Evanne not only made sure we were all having a good time and asked what we wanted to do at every stop but safely made sure we got to every destination without a hiccup! Our host Ben was basically a free therapist for the week he not only made delicious food but also made sure everyone on board was happy and did everything he could to keep everyone smiling! We love Ben and Evanne!
Cosí and Eva
Cosí and Eva, our Skipper and Host, were the absolute best. They made the trip even better. Between the passion/dedication they have for their job and the fact that they make you feel like family when you meet them. It makes the trip well worth it. Can’t wait for another Yacht Week trip
Time of our lives
Absolutely fantastic experience. Had an amazing time and loved every second of it. We are hoping to go back next year and plan to request our fantastic skipper and amazing host, Matija and Matea. Host was definitely worth it and highly recommend the catamarans for the best experience
Best week ever!
Shout out to Simon and Juan - the dream skipper and host combo!
This was in my bucket list since I was…
This was in my bucket list since I was 18. I’m 30 now and I’m SO glad I checked it! This was a once in a lifetime experience ❤️
Fantastic experience
Really well organised, fantastic parties, beautiful locations and the yacht week crew were fantastic. Our skipper Matija and our host Matea were both amazing. Already looking at planning next year.
Here for the Core Memories
Don't go on Yacht Week unless you're prepared for infinite core memories. I assure you, you'll never forget the parties thrown, people met, sights seen and magic experienced.
I write this with two Yacht Weeks under my belt (Croatia '23, Greece '24) with plans for Sardinia next year. We booked Croatia with one boat, Greece with two boats, and I suspect we'll ultimately book three for Sardinia.
The primary (and most obvious) draw of Yacht Week is its ease. Those who have planned group trips know what a pain in the a** it is to research, organize, orchestrate, collect money, etc. and hopefully have your friendships unscathed along the way. With Yacht Week, you effectively show up, and your next meal, activity, destination, memory and more is set for you. This allows you to truly live in the moment and take it all in. I equate it to getting married without a wedding planner/day-of-coordinator. If you try to manage your wedding while you're getting married, what are you missing? Same principle here.
Another key benefit of Yacht Week is that it allows you to travel to exotic locations that are more conducive to boat travel. The BVIs (another Yacht Week route) is an excellent example. I bare-boated with a friend group about 18 months ago, and we were able to travel from remote island to remote island by casting off our mooring ball and making our way to the next small island. No hotel check-in and check-out or concerns over ferry times - another huge pain plaguing traditional travel. Greece's Hydra is another great example. The island doesn't even allow cars (only donkeys); there's no way we could have experienced this island (the group's favorite!) outside of Yacht Week. Boat travel is the best travel =D
The last (and arguably most important) Yacht Week component to mention is its crew. In Croatia, our boat had a wonderful time with our skipper (Kayla) and our host (Mia). In Greece, we were blown away further with our skipper (route manager, Jake) and our host (lead host, BB). To illustrate this, I'll turn to my formal Yacht Week reviews submitted to the company:
JAKE, SKIPPER: "There is no one better on this earth than Jake. He is insanely talented and supremely safe, yet wildly fun and hilarious. He 100 percent completed our boat and complemented our group beautifully. We look forward to staying friends with Jake and traveling the world with him. Whatever you're paying him, give this man a raise."
BB, HOST: "BB was a godsend. I don't know how she did it, but her menu, timing, vibe, everything was precisely what we wanted and needed at that time. Her cooking was truly unreal. As with our skipper, we look forward to staying friends and hopefully hosting her out here stateside on her next visit. Thank you, BB!"
In conclusion, do a Yacht Week. I'd be shocked if it's your last. You'll bond with your friends like you can't imagine, make new friends who share your exact interests and will travel elsewhere with you, and you'll be back here writing this same review when it's all done. Do. It.
*My friend Thomas met his longtime girlfriend Vanessa on last year's Croatia Yacht Week, and she joined us on this year's Greece Yacht Week. They're moving in together this summer. It's as adorable as it sounds. (Seriously. Do. It.)
BEST WEEK EVER
Yacht week was quite literally the best week of my life. We did the first Croatia route in from May 25-31, 2024 and got the Premium Catamaran. HIGHLY recommend our host Maia who cooked the most amazing food. We also got really lucky with our skipper Ivor. I loved the itinerary even though it was jam packed because it took all the stress off of a bunch of drunk hooligans who would not know where to go or how to get there unless we were literally chaperoned lol. Overall 1000/10 trip. I think the value is really there when you experience what you get to do for an entire week. Paying for 90% of a vacation in advance means it's basically free anyway ;) #girlmath Croatia was really beautiful, and we were on the water a good amount and got to see so many cool destinations. It was truly a unique and "is this real life" type of experience that I am proud to have shared with the other amazing humans we met along the way. My group loved it so much we want to make it an annual thing, but trying out different routes each year. If you're on the fence, just BOOK THE TRIP. You won't regret it.
Bozo and Nela Express
The management and our personal skipper and host made this trip unforgettable. It’s so nice to truly feel like you’re on vacation and turn your brain off. Bozo and Nela were both Fantastic and I can’t recommend them enough. I’ve done this week twice now and it exceeded my expectations both times.
