We absolutely love the presentation builder tool we created with Third Light's help last year. Populating it with the slides our sales professionals need to build their decks quickly can sometimes be a challenge.

On June 21st, I reached out to Third Light support with a problem I was encountering while attempting to update Smart Folders after changing the search criteria. I was so frustrated that when I would click on the Update Smart Folders button, the search would return an empty folder. I discovered that the issue could be easily addressed by editing the Smart Folder, By going to Source Filter, I changed the Filter Mode using the pull down to "Always Include all folders." It worked like a charm.

Thanks to the very prompt and courteous support (Ogii), my problem was solved in a flash and while I did not want to hear it was in fact "user error," I was happy to accept my mistake to be able to update my folders without incident (instead of having to create new folders and delete the old ones to get the searches to work!).Thanks Third Light support!!!

As a company we recently started using Third light. The software itself is very innovative covering various business needs within our company.

Sharing media have become very simple with different sharing method offered by Third light.
No more attaching heavy files to emails taking up space on in-premises file storage. No more emails being blocked because of large file size and so on.

Third light still have some areas to improve but they're constantly fixing bugs and adding new features with their monthly version updates.

Finally, I have to say that they have one of the best Support team I've dealt with in my career so far. Even their development team get in touch with you via their forum page.

Nearly any customisation is possible.

Third Light have transformed the way in which we share company imagery with our customers, partners and clients. Their IMS software provides an extremely powerful and sophisticated way in which to store, manage and share images both internally and with our industry partners.

Every bit of communication from Third Light, from technical support to training is first class. Can't recommend this company enough.

I've been a Third Light customer for around 9 years and have found them to be fully supportive of my needs. As a freelance photographer I mainly use my account to deliver images to my clients. They appreciate the convenience of a web-based system for downloading files and they like the ease of use of the Third Light interface and functions. Third Light has also been very useful for image sales on some commissions and their integrated payment system is very easy to set up and use. Third Light staff are extremely helpful and supportive.

We have been using Third Light for a couple of years now to store our digital and video assets. It is a great product and company. We just had a problem where an admin deleted a meta data field that was tied to multiple assets. Third light recovered that field and really help save us a lot of time and money if we had to go back and reenter the information or if they had to restore back from a backup. Plus they did it very quickly.

"Our first real-world use of the Thirdlight software was at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed. Thirdlight was used for the primary purpose of allowing our commissioned photographers to upload their imagery to one central common holding area. Images that we could then tag and approve, which would then be easily accessed by our PR and digital teams.

Using this holding area meant that we could tag all of the imagery very quickly, this was a hugely timesaving and as the system learned our tag lines it was helping us as we progressed throughout event.

Thirdlight is a very intuitive piece of software that allows very straight forward browsing, sourcing and approval of the images, we have just touched the surface and it has been very impressive so far.

We are looking forward to populating Thirdlight with all of our imagery, and developing how we use it day to day. Thirdlight will without doubt save us a huge amount time across the many varied business on the Goodwood Estate."

I'm part of the digital education division of a large community college in the United States. We do a tremendous amount of multimedia production for our faculty and online courses, and we had been limping along with a less-than-ideal setup of network file servers. Actually, it was a bit of a logistical nightmare, dealing with disparate native file types (Premiere, After Effects, Maya, etc.) along with raw HD video clips that were often shuffled among multiple designers.

We knew we needed a much better way to catalog and archive our diverse projects. Enter in Third Light, which brought brilliant order to our production chaos. Although I don't have a lot of experience with other DAM solutions, I can tell you that the Third Light Enterprise Edition has fulfilled all of our needs. While its feature set is so expansive that it might seem intimidating, once you focus in on your key business needs, it becomes quite manageable.

We deployed our system in front of a local SAN that allows us virtually limitless storage flexibility. Speaking of deployment, it was a surprisingly smooth and painless process, thanks to the excellent help of Third Light's engineers. In fact, Third Light's overall customer service is exceptional -- among the best I've ever seen from any technology vendor, period.

Cheers to Third Light for offering something that's amazing on many levels: amazing value compared to other DAM solutions, amazing system flexibility, and amazing customer support. We're a very happy multimedia production group.

Have used Third Light for many many years now with never so much as a day's downtime or interrupted service. Support requests are dealt with quickly, accurately by knowledgeable and friendly technicians. Would have given 5 stars if the company could offer customised developments/modifiations for a fee, for functionality not already offered as standard. Sadly this isn't currently an option. That being said, the functionality will cover over 95% of users' needs. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a good all-round digital assets management system.

A clean, easy to use UI with a dedicated support team. Thirdlight has not only streamlined our work process it has created more time to do the important stuff.

We deployed this system for a large, $3 billion a year client last fall, primarily because of it's strong video capabilities. But we also wanted a system that could grow for the company, and Thirdlight also has excellent support for photos, documents, graphic files etc. We tested and demo'd dozens of systems and Thirdlight consistently ranked as one of the top two systems for our clients' needs. It's also very affordable compared to competing systems from companies like Equilibrium and Celum, which were three to four times more expensive. Thirdlight also owns and operates their own servers, which means all support (hardware and software) is handled in one place.

Support is excellent. I primarily use email support and I usually get answers within a couple of hours, despite the 6 hour time difference here in the U.S. One really nice feature is that when you deploy a Thirdlight system, you can send them a hard drive with your assets, and they'll upload it with the folder structure and assets intact. This is a HUGE time saver and is done at NO EXTRA COST.

The only negatives with the system are that some administrator workflows can be a little bit confusing at times, and the feature set is so big that non-technical users can be a little intimidated. But overall, usability is good. There are systems out there with better interfaces and easier learning curves, but considering the capabilities of Thirdlight, I would still rank it among the top 5 best DAM systems out there, especially if video archiving is important to your needs.

The team at Thirdlight have worked closely with us through the integration of the platform across a global business - while handling the bigger aspects of the project, they've kept the service "local". About 3 years ago our group (Communications) was struggling with DAM. We were trying to use a records backup system to store our photographs and it was not working well. On that system some image file formats were not viewable as thumbnails which defeats the purpose. We had team members refusing to use that old system. Our group spent about a year reviewing a number of true DAM systems and decided to go with Third Light. Now I can’t believe how long we struggled with that other system. ThirdLight is perfect for us. We initially wanted it for our huge photo library but now we use it to backup our various artwork and video/animation files as well. We love how intuitive the system is. It does everything we need and more — and it’s FAST. We are a cooperative G&T with 44 member systems, so the ability to easily and securely share photos, artwork and videos across our entire membership by way of the internet is fantastic. Thirdlight has been wonderful answering our many questions and training us on the system. I highly recommend Third Light to anyone looking for a great DAM system. We are VERY happy customers!

We have been using IMS since early in 2011, providing the system as an SaaS solution for one of our largest clients. The system was purchased to solve two major problems for their marketing group:

1. Managing assets on a network drive with inconsistent levels of organization and control
2. Dealing with the one-off requests for assets in various 'ready to use' formats by end users

In no uncertain terms, IMS solved both of their problems and helped the group get out of the 'order processing' business. Through IMS, we were able to help our clients professionals become more productive and 4 years later, the system still continues to provide that benefit.

IMS is a fantastic DAM without a doubt, but what truly makes it stellar is the amazing support that ThirdLight puts behind their product. From initial install and roll-out to upgrades and data migration to end user support, ThirdLight support has been responsive and quite frankly, a joy to work with. I wish other software and service provider vendors I deal with could take lessons from ThirdLight!!

While working at a design college in Boston, I was put in charge of finding a solution for our growing digital needs. I tested dozens of systems ranging in size and price point. With each system, I talked to administrators and end users, and quickly realized that Third Light continued to meet our client needs on a number of levels better than anyone else: customer support, system design, functionality, and price. Third Light was an easy choice for our college.The IMS had a simple and intuitive interface that made working in the system enjoyable for both me and my end users. What really set Third Light apart was Roland Henry and the Third Light team. They listened to our specific needs and were ready with friendly answers no matter how big or small our questions were. The IMS software was and still is great on its own, but the wonderful support Third Light provides truly seals the deal.

We have been customers of Third Light since 2008. It’s a versatile product which they are continually enhancing. The support at Third Light is the best I have ever experienced from a software provider and they have always been responsive to customer feedback. For your average end-point user wishing to simply search and download an image it is simplicity itself, meaning that with parts of our library now integrated with our website, we haven’t needed to provide instructions for our customers on how to use it. The site configuration is versatile, and along with the folder structures, has meant that we are currently in the process of rolling the IMS out to a sister company, whilst keeping each company’s library separate and distinct. Integration with Windows AD means that anyone within our organisation can access the library at the appropriate level for their department without administrators having to set up an account for each new user. We carried out a routine review of the DAM software market last year and for functionality and price, nobody else came even close to what Third Light can offer.

We went through a fairly intensive procurement process when selecting a digital asset management system for our photo, video and document library. Third Light was by far the front runner of all of the products we reviewed and trialed and now with our Intelligent Media Server up and running for the past year we're very satisfied with our decision. Not only does it have a smart and robust tool set, it's also incredibly easy to customise on our own. Third Light's investment in the product is obvious - they are constantly releasing useful updates and new modules. This investment makes me confident in our investment. They're staff are very helpful as well!

My experience with Third Light has been one of the easiest deployments in my history and I've been doing this for over 20 years. Not only feature rich but to get into the hands of users easily, with minimal training required is huge. I have enjoyed working with the team through installation and sales and everything they promised, they delivered. I also appreciate how easy the updates are to the product. They are pushed out automatically. On features, we looked for a variety of items, especially the ability to preview a full length digital asset and preview it without having to download it to a local player. We were early adopters (I think) of Third Light and after searching many applications for core requirements, we landed on a tool that did it all. Web accessible, no limits on assets, no local view requirements, email capabilities, auto-updates, intuitive, customizable so folks see what they need. Those were tall orders and of course, we need it quickly. All those expectations were met! We also won't outgrow the tool as there are so many features. We have had the Third Light IMS system since 2012 and I have absolutely no regrets about our purchase! I absolutely love it! We had a previous DAM system for several years before purchasing Third Light. We moved away from the other system because it lacked functionality that we needed and it was more expensive than Third Light as well. I researched several other DAM systems and found Third Light to be the best. Especially all that they offer for the price point! That was another huge plus for us since we're non-profit. I've been so happy with the move and I've received nothing but great feedback from our internal staff who use it quite often. It is such a clean and user friendly site! Another great aspect is that they offer a fully functional 30 day trial so you can actually get in there and use it and test it out! I really appreciated that! Not only is the system great, but their Customer Service is outstanding!! I can honestly say that out of any other customer service that I have dealt with (no matter what the company) that Third Light has the best!! They are very timely and responsive, even if it's just to say that they are working on a solution for the problem. They are constantly coming out with updates to the system to make it even better than it already is! I would (and have) highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a digital asset management system!
