My recent journey through Cambodia, Laos, and the Upper Mekong with Trails of Indochina was absolutely unforgettable. From the very first day, the level of organization, professionalism, and attention to detail was truly impressive. Each guide was knowledgeable, warm, and eager to share the deep history, culture, and traditions of their homeland, enriching every stop along the way. The river cruise on the Mekong was a highlight—serene, scenic, and filled with authentic experiences. Accommodations and logistics exceeded my expectations, making the entire trip seamless and stress-free. Trails of Indochina truly delivered a world-class travel experience I will always treasure.

Trails of Indo China worked patiently with us over several months to organize a perfect 4 country tour through Indochina doing exactly what we asked including a Khmer cooking class with a local chef. We were met on arrival in each county by an experienced English speaking guide who was well versed in the history, geography and culture of each location and were just delightful people too. They took us to rural villages and through urban mazes to get a close look at the daily life of the citizens. We chatted with farmers in the field and had meals in local homes. ToI booked amazing hotels for each stop from an eco-lodge in the mountains of Vietnam to a spectacular sea side resort in Thailand. We had contact names and numbers for ToI representatives in each country who were incredibly responsive even after hours when we had a small medical issue. They gave us a completely seamless experience from arrival to departure with no wasted time. Vacation time is very precious so we like to work with professionals who know the area intimately and would take the time to understand our objectives instead of pushing a canned itinerary. ToI was recommended to us and we’ll gladly recommend them to anyone else who wants to experience the friendly people in this beautiful part of our planet.

Trails of Indochina Exceeded Expectations

I planned a very last-minute trip to Vietnam for a family and not only did Trails of Indochina put together a beautiful itinerary, they also made sure the clients had visas on time, and reliable transfers.

Went with my family after planning this trip for almost a year. I decided to use Trails of Indochina instead of cruising as I thought that having more days in one place will help learning the culture and customs of each place visited. We visited, Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hoi Ann, Ho Chi Min, Angkor Watt in Cambodia and Bangkok in Thailand.
Pros of the trip:
-Trails of an indochina had somebody picked us up and drop us at each airport and fast tracked us.
-Sunny the guide in Angkor Watt was amazing and the chofer was great as well.
- Ha, the guide in Hanoi was very good.
-Guides and choferes were always in time to pick us up and willing to help us.
Cons of the trip
- Hotels were far away and very old looking
- Some of the places that they take you, are tourist traps, don’t trust the agency, do your research.
- Most of the guides do not speak English well, it is very hard to understand them.
- We saw tourist taken to places that we went on our own with their guides. So unfair that they knew of those spots and we were taken to tourist traps.

Trekking in Northern Thailand and cultural Bangkok.
This was my fourth trip with Trails of Indochina, the others were in Vietnam and Cambodia. The guides were super. Informative, friendly, engaging and with excellent English. Everything happened on schedule with no slip ups. My favourites were the 3 day hill tribe trek in northern Thailand (unforgettable) and the street food by tuk tuk excursion in Bangkok.

I just completed a great trip to Mongolia, China, and Hong Kong. Trails of Indochina did an excellent job developing the itinerary, arranging for local guides and drivers, and booking the internal travel on airlines and bullet trains. I was able to meet local people, see parts of the country outside of typical tourist areas, eat at the same restaurants that local folks frequent, and get nice exposure to the countries. The local guides were uniformly knowledgeable and helpful, and communication was never an issue. I had a similar positive experience with Trails of Indochina on a trip to Taiwan, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Singapore. I give Trails of Indochina a strong recommendation.

Based on our general suggestions and expectations Trails of Indochina developed the best possible itinerary for our trip considering the specifics of our group - grandmother, grandfather with walking limitations and three grandchildren (girls of 15 and 13 and a boy of 7). This was the key for the unforgettable experiences visiting the most important places just in 12 days - Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hue, Hoi An, Saigon and Mekong delta, enjoying nature, history, traditional performances, traditional handicrafts, agriculture, cosine, people. The itinerary allowed all of us including the teenagers and the young boy learn and understand the most important features of the country and the people and still crating a lot of fun and joy avoiding exhaustion or boredom which happen very often in such trips with dynamic programs.

I am a travel agent and had a wonderful experience working with Trails of Indochina to plan a 2-week honeymoon itinerary in Vietnam. The company was incredibly communicative and tailored the experience to the couple's needs.

All of the components with Trails were fantastic including all guides & drivers, our street food tour in Hanoi and the cruise on the Ginger with Heritage Line. Our guide in Siem Reap, Sunny, was just wonderful and honestly, set the tone for the trip. The cruise in Lan Ha Bay on the Ginger was amazing, and I'm so glad that we did it. I would highly recommend it anyone visiting this area, and everything from the crew to the food to the ship itself was top notch. Lastly, the street food tour with Mark from Street Eats Hanoi was the highlight for Hanoi. Mark was amazing, and not only did we eat well, but we also learned so much! I was specifically appreciative that he was flexible if I wanted to try something specific, and also made a point to focus on foods that were not as easy to find on our own.

Our trip to Vietnam was amazing because of the country - surprising, beautiful and full of history - and also because of the guides who took great care of us. In addition to the extra story content that we requested, they were attentive and kind, as was the case with Thuy, our guide in Hue, Hoi An and around. Friendly, very knowledgeable and fun. We Loved!

We are from a faraway land to Asia and felt at home with the world-class hospitality of Trails. All the services were well arranged and the staff (guides, drivers, customer care, etc.) were all helpful and knowledgeable. They truly made our traveling experience become a one-of-a-kind thing.
